  • This is literally exactly what I was looking for, I thought it up in my head and wondered if it was actually possible... obviously it is! thanks!

  • Fantastic. This is just what I needed for my music video.

  • I have 3 tracks side by side eachother and for some reason the first track is clearer and brighter than the others, the second next brightest and clearer and so on and so on for however many tracks i want to hhave. Is there a way to change thiis, coz iiits really doingg my head iin ive tried everythiing

  • @THERENEGADEKILLERBEE Not sure what you mean by tracks are 'side by side'. Clips can be side by side, but tracks are stacked vertically, not side by side. If the tracks are stacked vertically, the opacity slider on each track dictates how 'bright' the track will be.

  • @guerillabill I mean on the display screen three videos are side by side.....i found out it was the gradient effect i was using, but now has posed another problem I do not have the button located on each track that you click to "screen" overlay effect, Ii use vegas 10 and its supposed to be there but its not

  • @THERENEGADEKILLERBEE Right click near the top of the preview window and make sure 'show toolbar' is turned on.

  • Hi Mr Meyers.... is this a better approach than splitting in one layer. My problem is sometimes when i go to split a video on one layer i end up splitting all the layers in the other tracks... ugh!!! Thanks for all your videos and knowledge.

  • @cosmosradio Yes, having multiple tracks and switching between them is better than splitting the clip - if working with multiple camera views.

  • g u r u

  • I shot a music gig last week with two cameras and for the life of me couldnt find any app or any reference to an app on the web that could mix the video feeds together with keeping one audio (and I even went through the Vegas doco !)

THANK YOU for explaining it so succintly

  • You just saved me from hours of cuting and pasting videos.

  • Bill,

I have placed a photo over a running video stream. The photo does not fill the entire screen so the video is seen running in the background on both sides of the photo. How do I make the entire background during the photo portion of the video timeline show just the photo itself? Thx!

  • @ritterkruez Choose 'pan & crop' on the photo. Then right click in the center of the pan & crop window, and choose 'match output aspect'. This will cause the photo to fill the screen.

  • You are a life saver bro. I used to use vegas long ago. I got very rusty and now have version 10. I just shot a music video this weekend and I had a lot of different scenes and I was going to take a very long time to edit this video. Thanks to you it will be done in a timely matter. Just one question, I notice that it slightly pauses during scene transitions in the preview, will it look this way after rendering?

  • @agindtown There won't be any pauses between scene transitions unless you want them to be. The transition speed is based on the curve of the composite envelope. A steep curve means fast transition. A slow curve means slow transition

  • Hey Bill,

So I have a question. How many video tracks can you have in Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD 11 Platinum?

Thanks. By the way, your videos have helped me so much. Thankkss!!

  • @MyJackson07 10 stacked video tracks in Movie Studio 10 & 11. As many clips as you want in each track.

  • OH MY GOSH, I'm kind of in love with you right now. I've been trying to figure this out for approximately two years.

  • Dude, I have a ques, in sony vegas 10, we have a different layer for the video and music. So if we change the composite level, the video changes, but we still have all the songs running together at the same time and makes no sense, what should i do? PLEASE REPLY

    Cheers

  • @MrEminaldo Normally, you create an audio track for the video first, then adjust the video to match the audio track. But if you have multiple audio tracks, you can use the method I show in my YouTube video, 'Quick way to draw audio volume settings in Sony Vegas Movie Studio'

  • @guerillabill thanks, the drawing audio volume settings did the jon

  • I did the same as you said.I have multiple tracks and after the first track, the second track does not display even after following the same as you said. Can you plz tell e what could be wrong.Thanks.

  • @SadiaIffate If you stack the tracks above each other, and use the 'composite' slider to adjust the opacity as shown in the above video, it will work.

  • i LOVE your tutorial dude.btw, i was wondering..where can i get a free sony vegas software ?

  • Hi Bill, do you know how to add more tracks in Sony vegas movie studio 9, because im working on a huge project and vegas movie studio just let me put 5 tracks of audio and i need more

  • @supdawg444jr The easy way to have move audio tracks is to upgrade to movie studio 10. It has 10 video tracks, 10 audio tracks.

  • Hey Bill, my friend does drum covers on youtube and he uses 3 cameras at once covering differant angles of his room. My question is, if he uses this method of switching between camera views in vegas, can he put his recording of his drum cover audio on the top and sync it with the camera angles to get it as precise as possible. Thanks

  • @N4bUl5k1 Yes, he can sync that way. Or sync the 3 audio tracks, then lock the three video tracks to the main audio, and then mute the other two tracks.

Then when he changes from video track to video track, it will always be in sync with the audio.

  • Hi Bill, I don't mean to be rude but what the FUCK is the problem with all these editing softwares? I figured since i own sony cameras i'll use sony vegas pro 10 or movie studio hd. Preview video does not match record video when editing. Final Cut Studio is too finicky and Adobe Premiere has its problem as well. What is a good common sense yet powerful and easy software? I own all the above with a mac and pc. Fuck it, I should just use AVID Media Composer instead huh?

  • @djkaneck1 If the preview video doesn't sync up, it usually means your computer doesn't have the CPU, RAM, and video card resources needed to get the job done. I use a Dell Studio XPS with Windows 7 64 bit, 12 Gig of RAM, and a Nvidia video card with 1028meg of RAM, and when editing, even with HD video, using Sony Movie Studio 10, everything works well. Video preview is smooth and in sync - even on 70 minute video projects.

  • @guerillabill I should just beef up all my computers...that makes sense. Thanks again, I watch all your vids. Once again thanks I'm sorry for the rudeness but I write like I speak. Peace. I still can't find your vids on stock on amazon must mean they're selling very well, figures.

  • PLS answer: HOW DO YOU GUYS PUT AN IMAGE ABOVE THE VIDEO< NEAR THE VIDS Number! and ill sub

  • @DienesOly That image is a branding option offered to YouTube partners. If you're a YouTube Partner, go to YouTube, Account, My Channel, Branding Options.

I have a video at my site showing how to do it, how to create the image, and how to upload it to your channel.

  • Thank you very much Sir

  • Question, I'm editing with Sony Vegas 10 and shooting with a Panasonic HVX200p. I used Adobe encoder CS5 to convert the .mfx to HD .wmv However, when I try to edit the footage is choppy and it lags not able to edit at all. But I hold the "shift B" and it buffers 40 sec of the selected clip and it runs smoothly. But once I move it or cut it, it goes back to choppy. Please Help

  • @CesarAguirreFilms You may need a more powerful computer to edit HD video. I use a Dell Studio XPS running Windows 7, 12 gig Ram, 1024meg video card, 2 1TB drives, and video plays and edits smoothly in Movie Studio.

Editing HD video is CPU and RAM intensive and requires a fast processor, lots of Ram, and a video card with lots of RAM.

  • @CesarAguirreFilms highlight about 10 seconds of your video and press shift b and that goes frame by frame and it wont be laggy. but if you add effects or do shift b on another part it will be laggy again.

  • @CesarAguirreFilms Pressing Shift + B activates the Dynamic RAM Preview feature. What it does is it renders the video you've edited and puts that preview into RAM (Random Access Memory). Now because it's already been rendered, your computer doesn't need to render it again. But if you change something within that section, you've just made that rendering useless, so you have to generate it again. The length of your preview depends on the quality of the preview and how much memory you've devoted.

  • I have a question.

I have multiple video tracks with a single graphical element in each one. All of them form a cohesive image/logo, how would I move all of the video tracks as one (for example, to orient them on the screen in a different manner; like top left/bottom right, etc.)? The reason I can't move them individually is because they all have very particular X and Y coordinates that make the design work - I want to move them all as a group as to not disturb this. Thanks.

  • @Renulph If you turn on 'auto ripple' and choose the 'all tracks' option, it will move all the elements along the timeline at the same time.

  • @guerillabill I don't want to move them on the timeline, but rather the screen. Can I still do this?

  • @Renulph If you need to animate elements in separate video tracks and lock the element motion together, I don't think you can do that in Vegas.

  • @guerillabill this is cool. How did you get the cube looking effect at the end of your video?

  • @Rom10and9 I record these tutorials using Camtasia, and one of the transitions available in Camtasia is 'cube rotate'.

  • Thray different vidya tracks? lol..

thanks for the tutorial btw :D

  • excellent tut! question: is there any way you can save the composite level pattern so i dont have to keep repeating the procedure of adding and moving points? Or atleast copy and paste the pattern kinda like have we are able to do with the clips?

  • @ktfirehouse You can't copy and paste composite levels, but you can make the process much easier by holding down the shift key while drawing in the composite levels.

  • @guerillabill thanks alot. not quite sure what that will do but i'll give it a try!

  • Nice tutorial, just what I needed, however I ran into a second problem when combining two clips with composite levels; they are essentially screen captures from two different people, the first 1680x1050 and the second small, so when I do the fade, wider clip still peeks from behind the smaller one. Is there any way to fix this or did I manage to mess up my screen captures?

  • @Datamike You can use pan & crop on your screen capture clips and right click and choose 'match output aspect ratio', and it will resize the clip to fill the full screen.

  • @guerillabill Ahhh, I see. That's a nice trick, thank you very much :D

  • Ok, got one for ya. I'm trying to get Pinnacle FireWire to work with Vegas. Can it be done? Or do I have to go and pick up a different Firewire..? This was from Pinnacle Studio Movie Box-Ultimate version a couple years ago.

I am trying to download home VHS tapes into computer, since transferring them to DVD 1st and then downloading into Vegas didn't work well. I lost footage, and audio would be off several seconds..

  • @Garbear80 If I needed to transfer video from VHS to Vegas, I would use a VCR that had firewire out, or run the output from the VCR into a video camera that had video passthrough and firewire.

I wouldn't use the Pinnacle device as it compresses the video and reduces quality.

  • Are you the same bill meyers that is on Acid planet?

  • @daddytech No.

  • @guerillabill ok well i was curious because i had dealt with him before several years back, one of my co-workers from Dell pointed me toward his music and i was just curious since the name was the same and both things are owned and produced by Sony.

  • How can i stop the sfk files? Its getting annoying!

  • @Bammer958 SFK files are used by Sony Vegas to visually represent audio data, but are not meant to be opened or edited manually. SFK files do not contain any actual audio data.

They self delete when you close the program.

  • Now i feel like a dumb-dumb. For my last 20 videos or so I've been splitting, splicing and cutting. This will for sure increase my productivity.. lol Thanks man

  • So this doesn't seem to work. If I push the composite down to 0 for track 1, track 2 never appears in the preview screen; in fact I can't get the composite envelope to even appear on anything but track 1; the option is there, but clicking it doesn't do anything. The only way I can get track 2 video to play is to mute the track 1 video manually... this is absolutely crazy frustrating... it just doesn't behave the way you describe...

  • @xleroc It works exactly as described above for all versions of Sony Movie Studio and Vegas Pro. All tracks have opacity sliders, and by reducing the opacity, tracks below the track are shown.

If you have multiple tracks, you have to reduce the opacity of higher tracks to see the lower ones. And your mouse pointer has to be positioned so you are previewing the video you are changing.

  • Your a bloody legend Bill-appreciate you taking the time to show us all these helpful tutorials. and video tips. I was especially grateful for the auto ripple tutorial-it saved me a heap of time.

Next time you are in New Zealand--I'll buy you a beer.

    Cheers Baz.

  • Thank you so much Bill!

Appreciate your help and you sharing your knowledge with all of us :-)

  • Dear Bill, your videos are so good! Thank you for them.

Learning about the enveloppes today, jumping from one video track to another easily. It's great!

    But what about the audio?

I tried something with the enveloppes, jumping from one viedo to another, but it seems that the audio tracks of the videos do not follow the same rule of transitions as the videos. Any clue? Thank you so much from Costa Rica. Pura Vida.

  • @GilbertoMonge You can use volume envelopes on audio tracks. These are not locked to the video track composite slider, so you have to manually adjust the volume using the volume envelope in each track.

  • Excellent lessons bill....( all of them )

  • can u tell me if and if so how... can u add more than just only 4 video tracks?

  • @MrLukasDiSparrow Sony Movie Studio 9 and below is limited to 4 video, 4 audio tracks. Sony Movie Studio 10, has 10 audio, 10 video tracks.

  • @guerillabill You can edit this way and then add future clips to it later right? say if I have 5 different camera angels I can do 3-4 now, save that and then add more to it? This was very enlightning. I had used pinnacle before, but it crashed on me, taking out my DVD burner. That program was easy as baking a cake, lol...

  • @Garbear80 Yes, you can add future clips later. Or if you have Movie Studio 10, you have 10 video tracks to work with . . . makes it easier to have multiple cameras and build special effects

  • @guerillabill I just got 9 a month ago.. lol.. figures.

  • This was so helpful THANKS!!

  • If you do this is it possible to do transition effectss?? if so, how?

  • @Italiks You can add transitions to the end of any video clip, but not in the middle unless you split the clip (use the S key to split).

  • @guerillabill I understand but is it possible to do a transition effect from 1 video track to another???

  • @Italiks Yes, you can add a transition to the end of a clip on one video track, and put a transition on the beginning of a clip on the start of another clip on a different track, and if you line the clips up, the transitions look good.

  • Thanks m8 realy helped me

  • Hiya Bill! I've been trying this tonight with platinum 9.0 and when I click on the track and highlight composite level, no purple line appears. I've tried again and again on all my video tracks. the checkmark appears but no purple line, therefore, no way to fade from track 1 to 2 etc. did they remove this for 9.0 maybe? help!

  • @FranBro Move your mouse pointer to the top of any video track, right click and drag the opacity slider down.

  • @guerillabill Maybe it's because I have platinum 9.0 but it doesn't work. All I got is the opacity level to go down or up but it doesn't say "composite level" like it does on the track in your vid at the 1;05 mark. Maybe they disabled this for platinum 9.0 to get people to buy Vegas Pro...? All I can do is lower the opacity level for the whole track.

  • @FranBro Right click in the video track, choose 'insert, remove envelope', choose 'composite level'. I just tested, this works in Movie Studio 8, 9, & 10, all versions, including Movie Studio 9 Platinum.

  • @guerillabill I just did on two different projects. It doesn't work for me. I rightclicked both tracks, checked "composite level" (it let me do that) but then there is now way to doubleclick on the purple line and make the points to drag the envelope from one track to another. It just takes the opacity level of the entire video track down.

  • @FranBro I just tested this on Sony Movie Studio Platinum 9. It works. I also just tested on Movie Studio 8, and Movie Studio 10. It works on those as well.

If you are creating the purple envelope line, it means it is working for you. But you may not be double clicking on the line to create the points to drag the line correctly. Try expanding the track horizontally and vertically to make sure your mouse is actually on the purple line when double clicking.

  • @guerillabill Thanks for the patience but I just tried again. Expanded the track as big as can be. I sit cursor on purple line, "opacity is 100% appears" still can't double clock and get points. I am using 1080x1920 HD video clips. Maybe that's the reason and that only works in Pro...?

  • @FranBro I tested with 1080 X 1920 clips, and it works on Movie Studio 9 & 10.

  • @FranBro I tested with 1080 X 1920 clips, and it works on Movie Studio 9 & 10. I also used the opacity slider and the composite level envelope on the same clip at the same time. Clips are from Canon HF S100 camera.

  • @guerillabill Hiya Bill. I just shot a clip, (uploading now) showing what I'm saying. I cannot get it to work at all

  • @FranBro In your video, at 25 seconds in, you are trying to put points on the opacity level line, not the Composite envelope line. When you have your mouse pointer on the composite envelope, it should be at the very top of the video track, and if you right click and popup shows 'insert point', you'll know you are adjusting the composite level and not opacity level.

You might want to try 'options', preferences, display and change the composite envelope color.

  • you learn something new eveyday, thanks :)

  • awsomness

  • i have a video that i want just the audio from. so you know how to do that??

  • @mrswerewolflautner To see how to unlock the audio from the video, check out my YouTube video 'Remove audio track, record voice over, unlock audio tracks in Sony Vegas Movie Studio '

  • @MCO4Help Try rendering a short segment of the video to .wmv format to see if the sound syncs up with that. If it does, it means the problem is either in the render settings you are using, or the processing power of your computer not be able to keep up with rendering the file format the camera creates

  • i'm using sony vegas for around 1-2 years now and i'm still learning new tricks, thanks.

  • let's say i have like 10 seperate clips that are about 2 seconds long each and they are scattered in small groups along my timeline, any idea how to grab multiple clips at once and move them all over to one spot ( ex. the beginning) without having to move them individually?

  • @alexege2 Turn on 'autoripple', and you can move them all at once. See how in my YouTube video 'Auto Ripple in Sony Vegas & Movie Studio '

  • i have a question i save my mom wedding video is 1 hour but it save it and it said that is a 5 gb and i want to burn it but it is big so i will like to saved again but in less can you help me please thank

  • @edwin1998 When you bring it into DVD Architect, it will convert to Mpeg4 for DVD.

You can get about 74 minutes on DVD-R, so the hour long wedding will fit on the DVD

  • bill, i need help, can sony vegas edit videos like, u know, mysteryguitarman ? in his one video, theres multiples of other small videos at the corner of the videos, its like, playing multiple videos in one video. how to edit that way? please, help me?

  • @hamstywonderland You can use pan & crop in Sony Vegas and Movie Studio to create picture-in-picture overlays so you can have multiple videos on the screen at the same time. I show how to do this 5 different ways in my '101 Tips & Tricks with Sony Movie Studio' DVD. Find it at Amazon or my web site.

  • So that means I can only insert 4 diffetent clips in the movie stuiod version?! WTF?! o.o Then why should I buy that programm and waste my money on it? And I thought it was a good editing programm at all and not so expensive like Vegas pro, since I can't pay for that -.-

  • @XxPlayxWithxFirexX You can insert an unlimited number of clips, but only 4 video tracks on the timeline in Movie Studio 6, 7, 8, & 9.

You can have up to 10 video tracks in Movie Studio 10

  • Hey Bill, i have a problem with my sony vegas, what seems to happen is if i want to put a text the media generator doesnt pop up, allowing me not to put any titles. do you know what seems to be the problem please help me

  • @ThePinoyDancer Sounds like you have docked the text window behind another one. To see the solution to the problem, see my YouTube video, 'find lost windows in sony vegas movie studio'

  • the thing you see the movie in , is lost for me where can i find it

  • @RipRespawn That's the preview window, and to bring it back, press alt 4

  • ;Excellent Explanation Just got the Vegas pro 9 and playing with fashion photo stills and will try the compositing as a transition alternative. I will check your site out a well! Love Vegas

  • Nice. Thank you!

  • Wonderful!! THank you so much my friend!

  • Thanks, I was looking for this! I've subscribed! :)

  • Thank you bill, you are really a great help

  • Thank you bill, you are really a great help

  • OK, so you can fade from video clip to video clip, but how do you have the audio follow?

When I tried this, all 3 audio tracks were playing at the same time.

I was hoping the audio would fade in and out along with the video.

  • @tomv3b You can use volume envelopes on the audio tracks as well.

Or you can cut the clips as needed and place them all on a single video/audio track

  • What if you wanted another video track, but all of the tracks are full? draging the media you want below all the video tracks sometimes works, but when it dosn't i right click on a video track and try and import another video track but it dosn't work!! what do I do to get more video tracks?

  • @debbyryantastic Sony Vegas Movie Studio has a maximum of 4 video tracks, 4 audio tracks.

Sony Vegas Pro has no limit on the number of video or audio tracks.

  • Thank You!!!

  • many thanks. Will try this method as am in the middle of another wedding project....

  • Hi bill was just reading your answer to philippine20's question regarding rendering to DVD. I've just succesfully created my first dvd using that very method with Vegas movie studio and dvd architect. However the quality of the picture, although good, is somewhat granier for want of a better word. The footage was filmed using a sony xr105 hd camcorder.

Is there any way of recording to dvd with minimal loss of picture quality

  • @capokhatpin Your video quality on DVD is greatly dependent on the quality of the source video. Better quality source video means better DVD quality.

For best results, set the project properties to match the source video, and render the output in Vegas using avi and DV template. Then let DVD Architect convert avi to DVD.

Your XR105 camera records AVCHD format video, which can be high quality depending on the camera settings.

  • he thank you this tutorial . please how Ican move audio trak withaut moving vedio trak

  • @suliman6666 Right click on the audio track, select 'group', then 'remove'

  • Hello! I am having trouble adding multiple music tracks. How do I do this?

  • @scarson4 Put your mouse in the control area of an audio track, right click, and select 'insert new audio track'.

In Movie Studio, you are limited to 4 audio tracks. In Vegas Pro, there is no limit

  • Excellent video tutorial! I had no idea how to use composite levels before! :) Thanks so much!

  • man, Vegas Rocks!

  • thank u so much, i needed to add transpearacy to my gun muzzle flashes, now i no how to

  • very good your video thanks ...i can't understand much because i don't speak inglish but i try write right this

  • my man i got a question for u, Im editing a video to burn it onto a DVD, a DVD that can be played on regular dvd player. what is the best format???? (my camcorder films in HD and my tv is 42"). Tanx bro.

  • In Sony Movie Studio, render the DVD using the Main concept mpeg2 file type, using the DVD NTSC template.

Open that file in DVD Architect, add the menu and burn the DVD from there.

  • just started using vegas movie studio 8 and am greatful for your site, your tutorials are brilliant, thanks for taking the time to post these :)

  • I've been using Vegas for over 2 weeks now trying to figure this out! Thanks!

  • i thought u were going to use multicamera editing. thanks though cause i never new about this. it might be useful.

  • Where or how do I get a hold of Sony Vegas Movie studio products?.. or Sony Vegas Pro 8, is that a better product? Is it the same concept?..Please email me with the response on here.. thanks for your help..Jason

  • You can download trial versions of Sony Movie Studio from the Sony website.

You can purchase Sony Movie Studio from Amazon with prices starting under $40.

Movie Studio HD is for creating web videos, while Movie Studio Platinum is for producing web and DVDs.

  • do you have a video about choosing aspect ratios during editing?

  • Yes, see 'Convert video to wide format for YouTube - Sony Movie Studio ' and 'Setting Project Properties in Sony Vegas & Movie Studio'

  • I don't see how anyone could lack trust in your products. I am checking them out after learning so much from your tutorials. It is easy to get stuck in a lazy time consuming procedure with Vegas. I think your dvd's will give me a boost. Thanks guerillabill!.

  • Do you know how to select multiple tracks at once. I mean like if I want to move 3 tracks at the same time without mixing up the order.

  • Use 'autoripple' to make changes that affect all tracks. See my Youtube video, 'Auto Ripple in Sony Vegas & Movie Studio'

  • where does the audio go?

I have two clips I want to use, but when I add 2nd clip onto the video overlay line, the audio of that added clip overlaps the audio from my first clip.

    How can I fix that?

    (SVMS 8.0)

  • Click on the overlapped audio, and drag it down onto a different audio track.

  • Nice, Ive been splitting clips to cut out holes on layers and fading them in and out using the fade tool on each clip.

Far more labour intensive. Thanks for the tip, its funny how we can miss such simple stuff and do things the hard way sometimes.

  • u have need to do always get a new vid under the other vid for new effect?

  • That's cool...I have been making music Videos with 50 or more clips the hard way..lol..this will help me out alot

  • i like ur vids alot for 2 reason

    1. they explain things good or well

    and..

    2. you actually reply to comments asking for help so thanks : )

  • How do you make 2 or more clips play beside each other? (1 clip beside the other)

  • Put the clips on separate tracks, and use event Pan & Crop to resize each clip to fit side-by-side on the Track

  • how do you put music in your video?

  • In Sony Movie Studio, I import a music file, then drag it onto an audio track on the timeline, and position and adjust it to fit the video.

  • how can i add track?? mine is max of 5 T_T

  • Movie Studio has a max of 4 video and 4 audio tracks.

Vegas Pro has no limit on the number of tracks.

  • How do you do it on both? So you have it both at the same time in the same screen?

  • Use track motion on both video tracks and resize each video to fit on the screen

  • Excellent - I've been looking for this technique for a while. Thanks.

  • hey thanks for the tutorials.. very helpfull..

i have a question.. i've been using Sony Vegas for about 3 years.. But now i want to use a external monitor to preview my videos.. is any way that i can use a laptop maybe ???

i have a sony Vaio desktop and a macbook.. again thaks for the videos..

(sorry for my spelling I'm from Mexico )

  • what is the best propertie setting for hd

  • If editing HD video, select 'properties', then click the folder icon to 'match media properties', and click on the video file you are editing.

This will set the editor properties to match the video file.

  • Where? Thanks.

  • See my YouTube video, 'Setting Project Properties in Sony Vegas & Movie Studio'

  • Good stuff Bill and a New sub

  • Thank You Bill !

  • wow thats very instresting?

your the best bill you know ill be trying it soon after i show you this video clip im completeing in about 1 hour

  • I need to move more than 1 clip at once and it's not letting me how to do i do this

  • use 'ripple edit'. See my YouTube video 'Auto Ripple in Sony Vegas & Movie Studio' for details

  • Is a video track limited to 4 by the vertical rows, or can you have unlimited all in 1 row?

  • Sony Movie Studio has a limit of 4 video tracks. Sony Vegas Pro can have unlimited video tracks

  • But is it limited to 4 Tracks a time line or 4 Video tracks period? and is that the same as audio?

  • You can place unlimited number of video clips on any of the 4 available video tracks.

You can stack the clips on top of each other, or beside each other.

  • So its saying you are limited to 4 time lines?
