Is there a lot of sound difference between your Hichiriko C and a Xaphoon? I just acquired a Xaphoon in C. It's my first time playing a reed instrument, so I have a lot to learn. You're tone quality is excellent! I understand you make these yourself? Any chance of getting them online? Thanks!
Ah, one letter different. It reminds me of the gagaku instrument, but it seems that you're able to go to the upper octave, whereas the hichiriki only has about 7 notes. I also play the Cantonese houguan, which has the limited range.
Kouhei-san, you are amazing. Truly beautiful playing and a wonderful little instrument. I hope you achieve tremendous amounts of success. I'll be sure all my friends see this

Where can one get a Hichiriko? I just picked up the Xaphoon, I'm guessing it's in the lower octaves than what you are playing.

@DJsStratoArt Thank you for your comment.
Hichiriko C and Xaphoon are similar.
In a different part, Hichiriko is thinner and the finger hole is 8.
Hichiriko G is half octave high.
Sorry, Hichiriko is sold only in Japan.

@jazztake2007 Thanks much for the information. Well, I'll keep going on the Xaphoon, I love it's tone too.

Hichiriko has the range of 2 octave+ in chromatic scale.
It matches the music of various genres.
