@Spholx2 not true actually. my blood parrot tries to kill anything that comes near his tank. he used to terrorize an id shark that i had which was over a foot long
It's my first time to see Pangasius catfish attacking other fishes. I have kept such fishes for 14 years and they are about more than 2 feet now and they are not aggressive. They even feared smaller aggressive fishes. Are those catfishes in the video you called paroon shark different species?
man thats not cool. that fish was actually looking at your pleading for mercy hoping you would get him out of there while breathing heavily. shame on you mate seriously.
everyone stop crying leave the fish in there and get it on film when the shark eats them maybe put some red bellied piranhas in there so they fight to the death...
@carolo107 cant really break up the fight/ he would get bitten most likely and if you tear the fish from his mouth ure going to end up injuring both fish so leave it alone and hope for the best. after the fight then take action.
mate your fucking disgusting having them poor fish in the tank with those sharks you should take all the fish out of that tank except the sharks so that can be a shark tank and get a new tank for them fish i think that ur horrible that you have done that i hope you got them fish out of the tank because your the worst fish owner ive ever fucking seen!
I find it rather discusting that you have put that lovely parrot fish in the same tank as those filthy sharks. Any decent owner would know NOT to mix those fish together. You do not deserve to have any pets you dick.
dude that fish is a beast and scared the shark sugar out of the other shark at 0:49 because he survived the attack from the other shark but if u love that fish you would want to move it also you should get a bigger tank so the sharks can get bigger paroon can grow up to 5-6 feet and sharks cant breath if they cant move all the time but i am not sure this is the same for freshwater cause i believe they might but not long
y is everyone hating on this kid ya it sux that the fish got attacked 1st of all he survived meaning he can hold his own...kineda but 2nd of all thats wat fish do they are called carnivores kinda like wen people eat meat u dnt tell someone eating a hamburger they should be in jail fish fite get over it retards 3rd y are u watching it if u dnt like fish fighting???
@nachoben55 if you havnt realised you have pet fish so yu can keep them not get them killed and when you have fish tank its supposed to be a happy home for them to live in so he should have fish which can live happy together
u must be out of ur mind putting the poor parrot fish together with those sharks. i dont hate the sharks but thats not right for such a kute parrot fish being attacked like that. =/
my blood parrot got killed by 2 of my other fish because they got kids at the time... one day it was just dead and damaged... but they didnt eat it O_o
nope. unfortunately paroon and its cousin the ID shark is never known to breed in captivity. Few expert breeders though sometimes does an "induced" breeding by injecting the fish with some sort of artificial hormonal agent but sucess is still very negligible.
dude those paroon are going to end up eatting everything in that tank, just wait until they grow a little bigger... i would suggest moving the smaller fish to a separate tank.
theres nothing wrong with blood parrots is the people who breed them, they dont even know which are their real parents those arent even sharks they are just some cheap common catfish which are very common in human food, in fact their teeth dont even hurt, my green terror was attacked by a gar and acted like nothing happened, besides this catfish isnt even attacking its "eating", if they were both the same size and the BP attacked it, the"shark" would be stressed to death as BPs comes from midas.
erm, no a red devil wouldnt considering that paroon sharks can grow to 8.5 ft in the wild usually 4ft in aqariums but paroon sharks will eat a whole dog if given the chance,
those are too big for the tank not a common red devil, that catfish aka shark grows to more than 3 feet long! if u dont know anything about fishes, aggressive fishes dont care about the size they care about the temperament of the other fish, in this case paroon catfish is peaceful but a predator, red devil: aggressive, if it was a red devil that could CLOSE ITS MOUTH, it could have teached the shark a lesson, i have seen my GT injuring the gar's nose for an attempt to eat him, predatoryfish r wik
oh i get it.red devils in general have serious tempers and usually mean death for the other fish.they are famous for their aggression and will win against most cichlids out there.the only cichlid i have seen my red devil having a hard time to beat would be from the parachromis family(jaguars, doviis ect.).i dont know the difference between stupid fish and aggressive fish.the stupid fish (piranha) would pick a fight and lose.now the aggressive fish stands its ground no matter what
du bist ein tierquäler oder wie ich meine dumm haie mit anderen fischen in ein becken zu setzen wenn man weiß das die haie sie als futter bezeichnen. daran sieht man das du nicht in der lage bist mit solchen tieren umzugehen
Piranhas? i highly doubt it..let it try to take on maybe a black piranha or sumthin..poor red devil would die...sayin that iv tried to house them together..didnt work..guess wat i still have left? my piranhas lol
i've had my red devil take on piranhas up to 5 red bellies and still win...1 black piranha... because all piranhas are big pussies cauz they only have the balls to attack when in groups
I think this discussion is getting childish anyway. If you like red devils, keep them. If you like red bellied piranhas, keep them. If you like blood parrots, go to hell.
really? do some research first mr ignorant, its not even their fault, people made the blood parrots themself, they dont even exist in the wildlife, but from people's experience they say it comes from midas cichlid and red devil which both are btw the most aggressive cichlids out there and if they were both the same size(that catfish and the bp) probably the catfish would get chased enough to the point of death because of the stress of the blood parrots bullying,
reply to gliberboys comment : the blood parrot against the shark?no chance poor blood parrot might end up without a tail or something.maybe no head or guts...im not sure if those sharks have teeth though
No ways dude its cool when you put a bunch of angries together they are cool they start to form this angry alliance and attack anything you put in there. I had a tank with 4 oscars 2 blood parrots fresh water eels and 2 clown knifes. The blood parrots are mean. Everything I dropped in instant death.
Use your brain...Fish will prey on other fish in the wild but in a closed system (aquarium) the prey really has nowhere to run. This is why a responsible aquarium keeper chooses his/her stock wisely as to avoid unnatrual predation. Besides, these fish are obviously pets and nobody wants their pet to die.
Parrot fish rule man, mine has a 20Gallon all to himself and bigger in the future if need be, it like putting a yorkie in a cage with a pitbull, you just don,t do it, get some common sence man, and no punt intended on the pitbull I own one just an example, lol.
dude, that cute parrot fish deserves live in a better tank with less agressive fish. Sooner or later it's gonna be swallowed whole or die from diseases due to agression and stress. You wouldn't want to be living in a cage with 10 pitbulls would ya? Why put the parrot fish through it. I own 8 of these blood parrots for years and they have lots of personality, very friendly and cute fish.
if you haven't had your fish for very long, it is natural for them to shy away for a little while when they see you. Though if it is still happening after like several months to a year, then you need to sort of socialize them more and let them see you giving food by placing it on the water. Another thing is to arrange the tank so they can see you if you are in the room even from inside their "little cave". Its not uncommon for them to run from your hand, but mine come up to the glass to greet
i've had this fish for several months, and while he has made some progress, however minimal, he still is super shy. he plays dead in his cave, and even allows the mollies to peck at his body while he lays motionless, which in the beginning made me think he was dead. the only time he seems unafraid is when im feeding, otherwise, he hides from me. not good for a $25 fish.
I have one now that was bought as a Christmas pet for myself in the same price range around 3 years ago. The others I have now with that one are younger and were bought at under $10 dollars. I suggest that you interact with it as regularly as you can. Getting another one might bring about changes to make it come out its cave. Or getting another cichlid. I would suggest a Firemouth. Avoid aggressive cichlids, goldfish and Angelfish. Firemouths can be found well under $10 dollars.
i thought about that but i only have a 29 gallon tank, so i can ill afford to add another one. plus, i later learned this fish are unnatural and i should not support the breeding of these sterile breeds. i will try to interact more but i still resent the fact that my own pets are deathly afraid of me.
if Parrots are so unworthy, then so are mules. Yet mankind has had uses for the mule. In a 29 gallon tank, if its got a lot of decorations in it, then try to take some out of it out to remove the chance to hide so easily. A 29 gallon tank is a bit on the small side, but another cichlid may not be a problem since more than likely your Parrot is not bigger than your hand. You will need a 55 gallon anyway after while, so adding a Parrot "buddy" is okay, unless you have lots of Mollies in there.
also at the pet store the parrots are really shy. i just dont want anymore parrots. Mollies, though not as pretty, as much more interactive and go crazy when i approach the tank.
can i ask question? if parrots are sterile how come no body knows what they are a cross of hmmm?? parrots are fertile (atleast the book said they are fertile and thats how they are to work out its ancestery cus two closely related species will create fertile hybrids).
its a fish what do you expect it to do? just be like "ok this dude bought me so i need to like him otherwise he will resent me" hahaha my siamese fighter female hates my guts yet my gouramis attack the bubble that get caught on the hairs on my arms when im doing planting ect and have you thought that your mollies are giving him a hard time? mollies suck they are just fat ugly versions of guppies and do nothing but bully smaller fish at feeding time.
WOW! How big is your tank? - How easy are Parrots to keep?-how big should your tank be?-mine is 60cm accros 40cm up 40cm wide-is that big enough? What do they eat-will they eat other fish-are they aggresive?
They aren't true sharks. They are catfish. iridescent/ paroon shark is a misnomer. They also get like four feet long and need a massive tank since they need to be kept in schools/shoals
Call me sick but as a shark lover I find it fascinating when I watch sharks eat their prey. It's just a spectacular site, provided it's not humans we're watching!
What the hell is your problem? Why would you allow those sharks to attack something that clearely cannot defend itself. And you paid for that parrot cichlid...kind of an expensive lunch if you ask me.
Tank looks nice, just completely wrong combination of fish
this pisses me off. You should not have the poor little cichlids in there with that shark, and it attacking the cichlids is pretty good proof of it! Parrot cichlids are usually pretty laid-back and shy, as you can see when he tries to hide from the hyper-active sharks. You've also got a rainbow shark and a couple other little fish in there. All the fish in there require COMPLETELY different water conditions! If you can't keep fish correctly, don't keep them at all.
Plz explain how they need completely diff water conditions? I agree the combination is abit stupid but they are pretty similar really as far as water goes.
DONT BUT Blood Parrots. These are bad hybrids obtained through gruesome surgery and they are dyed with paint in many occasions. True ciclid lovers do not buy these kind of fish!
actually Dragon is correct, these parrots are more like the product of mixing and genetic engineering. There is no such thing as Parrot Cichlid, cuz they never existed until some people mixed other species for commercial gain.
Dragon is incorrect, they are not obtained through gruesome surgery and there is no genetic engineering either, simply allowing midas/rd to cross with a synspilum. Cats Dogs, Cattle etc are all hybrids of thier origional species. And btw there is a Parrot Cichlid, Hoplarchus psittacus, look it up. The fish here are actually Blood Parrot Cichlids. As I already said "Oh how uneducated some people are".
Thanks kid. Easy to see who the asshole is when in the face of the facts you turn to mindless name calling. Try doing a bit of research before spouting your mouth off with regards to thing you oviously know nothing about.
Yet again you resorts to mindless name calling, the sign of a true looser. If you feel like having an inteligent debate fine, but as you only seem capable of mindless, childish name calling and giving out inacrurate information I think you should just give up.
DasArab, what is your problem. Dragon is correct because true cichlid lovers dispise the "parrot" cichlid as this is a genetically mutated imposter. I also notice you keep down-thumbing everyone...
The Parrot cichlid is a true cichlid, Hoplarchus psittacus, Blood Parrots are hybrids. There is no genetic mutation its a simple crossing of 2 fish. DragonDudeMarril said they are created through grusome surgery, this is not true. Perhaps if people did some research instead of spouting off mindless and childish remarks then I wouldnt down thumb people for giving out incorrect information.
Sorry but I accept them the same way I accept any other fish. At the moment Fish list reads Hypselecara Temporalis(Chocolate Cichlid),Vieja Argentea(White Cichlid),Red Heros Severus(Red Severum),Blood Parrot, Rainbow King Flowerhorn,16 different species of Corydora. I also keep Discus and have Royal Blue Turquoise, Red Dragon, Red turquoise and Pigeon Bloods. Imot not a Fish Expert, im a fish keeper.

Timothy2035 3 years ago
i thought about that but i only have a 29 gallon tank, so i can ill afford to add another one. plus, i later learned this fish are unnatural and i should not support the breeding of these sterile breeds. i will try to interact more but i still resent the fact that my own pets are deathly afraid of me.
ironchopsticks 3 years ago
if Parrots are so unworthy, then so are mules.
Timothy2035 3 years ago
also at the pet store the parrots are really shy. i just dont want anymore parrots. Mollies, though not as pretty, as much more interactive and go crazy when i approach the tank.

can i ask question? if parrots are sterile how come no body knows what they are a cross of hmmm?? parrots are fertile (atleast the book said they are fertile and thats how they are to work out its ancestery cus two closely related species will create fertile hybrids).
richard99th 3 years ago
its a fish what do you expect it to do? just be like "ok this dude bought me so i need to like him otherwise he will resent me" hahaha my siamese fighter female hates my guts yet my gouramis attack the bubble that get caught on the hairs on my arms when im doing planting ect and have you thought that your mollies are giving him a hard time? mollies suck they are just fat ugly versions of guppies and do nothing but bully smaller fish at feeding time.
richard99th 3 years ago
And you're just a fat ugly version of your mom.

Also-how is the knife fish 2 keep?-what does that eat-an pretty much everything else I asked about the parrots...
HAMISHMCC300 3 years ago
WOW! How big is your tank? - How easy are Parrots to keep?-how big should your tank be?-mine is 60cm accros 40cm up 40cm wide-is that big enough? What do they eat-will they eat other fish-are they aggresive?
HAMISHMCC300 3 years ago
They aren't true sharks. They are catfish. iridescent/ paroon shark is a misnomer. They also get like four feet long and need a massive tank since they need to be kept in schools/shoals
elemntsk8border 3 years ago
isnt a paroon an iridescent????
lushuz3 3 years ago
dats hella fuckin stupid to put a blood parrot with fuckin agressive sharks
ps nice vid
mclov3n96 3 years ago
Not if you want to feed the sharks, it isnt!
Call me sick but as a shark lover I find it fascinating when I watch sharks eat their prey. It's just a spectacular site, provided it's not humans we're watching!
darragh44 3 years ago
You could feed them dead fish idiot. Since they dont live in the wild anymore

Why would you even video tape such an attack? How wold you feel if you were the Blood Parrot?
harryshan20 3 years ago
dont put the shark with those poor little small fish in the same tank that was bad
rpblcan 3 years ago 2
nice tank!!!
desperage 3 years ago 3
I hope you remove the Parrot. If anything, you should have a Red Devil in there. It can defend itself from the shark.
Timothy2035 3 years ago 3
dude thats live. He take care of his animals very well. he feed them he is just goooood. The sharks has to be happy with such a owner!

Fishy20100 3 years ago
nice tank but your shark will outgrow that tank and you shouldn't even have a blood parrot in there, poor fish
ajwest747 3 years ago 4
What the hell is your problem? Why would you allow those sharks to attack something that clearely cannot defend itself. And you paid for that parrot cichlid...kind of an expensive lunch if you ask me.
Tank looks nice, just completely wrong combination of fish
FishAreFriends01 3 years ago 4
this pisses me off. If you can't keep fish correctly, don't keep them at all.
tode909 3 years ago 4
I saw a rainbow Shark, what other fish did you recognize that he has with his sharks?
mnxmnx07 3 years ago
Plz explain how they need completely diff water conditions? I agree the combination is abit stupid but they are pretty similar really as far as water goes.
chrisdef15 3 years ago
water might be the same but as you can see one might be aggresive and the other peaceful

Aww poor little thing... i got 6 parrots and there the most sweetest things ever! x
jessimpson08 3 years ago
DONT BUT Blood Parrots. These are bad hybrids obtained through gruesome surgery and they are dyed with paint in many occasions. True ciclid lovers do not buy these kind of fish!
DragonDudeMarril 4 years ago
Oh how uneducated some people are.
DasArab 4 years ago
actually Dragon is correct, these parrots are more like the product of mixing and genetic engineering. There is no such thing as Parrot Cichlid, cuz they never existed until some people mixed other species for commercial gain.
ngb00 3 years ago 2
Dragon is incorrect, they are not obtained through gruesome surgery and there is no genetic engineering either, simply allowing midas/rd to cross with a synspilum. Cats Dogs, Cattle etc are all hybrids of thier origional species. And btw there is a Parrot Cichlid, Hoplarchus psittacus, look it up. The fish here are actually Blood Parrot Cichlids. As I already said "Oh how uneducated some people are".
DasArab 3 years ago
What an asshole you are huh?
DragonDudeMarril 3 years ago
Thanks kid. Easy to see who the asshole is when in the face of the facts you turn to mindless name calling. Try doing a bit of research before spouting your mouth off with regards to thing you oviously know nothing about.
DasArab 3 years ago
I do know, idiot. Why son't you do to your therapist now? Down thumbing everyone.. A hole
DragonDudeMarril 3 years ago
Yet again you resorts to mindless name calling, the sign of a true looser. If you feel like having an inteligent debate fine, but as you only seem capable of mindless, childish name calling and giving out inacrurate information I think you should just give up.
DasArab 3 years ago
DasArab, what is your problem. Dragon is correct because true cichlid lovers dispise the "parrot" cichlid as this is a genetically mutated imposter. I also notice you keep down-thumbing everyone...
Jayzasianstyle 3 years ago 2
The Parrot cichlid is a true cichlid, Hoplarchus psittacus, Blood Parrots are hybrids. There is no genetic mutation its a simple crossing of 2 fish. DragonDudeMarril said they are created through grusome surgery, this is not true. Perhaps if people did some research instead of spouting off mindless and childish remarks then I wouldnt down thumb people for giving out incorrect information.
DasArab 3 years ago
If you were a true fish expert, then you would not accept the "blood parrot" as a good and legitimate fish..
Jayzasianstyle 3 years ago
Sorry but I accept them the same way I accept any other fish. At the moment Fish list reads Hypselecara Temporalis(Chocolate Cichlid),Vieja Argentea(White Cichlid),Red Heros Severus(Red Severum),Blood Parrot, Rainbow King Flowerhorn,16 different species of Corydora. I also keep Discus and have Royal Blue Turquoise, Red Dragon, Red turquoise and Pigeon Bloods. Imot not a Fish Expert, im a fish keeper.
