  • this is wrong and disgusting. why do you feel the need to be so damn offensive.

  • How can you cover your hair "half way" and still call yourself covering your hair?

  • When you think about it,it's just easier and more confortable to wear the scarf(Tikhel)it also makes me feel that I'am following the commandment more by wearing it because Sheitel is still the same as not covering your hair it looks the same and it's so sumb that you have to shave your hair. Its more easier just putting the scarf on your hair and faster.

  • B"H

The mitzvah was not created so that a woman could be considered to be unattractive, but the mitzvah itself states that a married woman must cover her hair. A sheitel is safer than wearing a tikhel of which is all too easy to slip off, and if embarassed of wearing a t., there could be a tedency to let it come off.

A sheitel is a preferred head covering, doing a better practical job than the alternatives while providing an appropriate modest yet respectful look for a holy Jewish woman.

  • Let me say that I am not Jewish, but a covering Christian woman. I think what IsraelSGBoy was trying to say is that wearing a sheitel looks like a typical woman who decided to throw on a wig one day, as opposed to a scarf which stands out and can be a testimony to others. People may not ask why a woman wears a wig everyday, but they will definitely be curious about a scarf or a hat.

  • As a Sephardic Jew most of us agree that it is better to wear a Tikhel. Simply because it makes it look a little more modest because they are covered more. A scarf is better like our ancestors wore in ancient times or something that will cover their whole hair. Due to Sheitels many woman who are not as religious don't cover their hair because they know some people won't notice it's their real hair and by that they are not completing the Mitzvah in the Synagogue either.
