The gas operated function of this pistol is also its downfall . Being chambered in .50 Action Express doesnt help much either. In my experiences with large caliber pistols like this ive found the S&W 500 to kick a lot less harder. This does not make sense because the 500 charge is bigger , my S&W 500 has a recoil compensator on it so thats what is making the difference.

it's a great gun but for personal defense I would deffinitely go with my para-ordinance SSP .45ACP with golden sabre rounds it's a much smaller round but it's +P and hollowpoint fireball is almost as big as the 50 AE rounds and it's much more controllable I can rapid fire all 8 rounds into a targets center mass in less than half a second from less than 25 feet away plus much lighter
