Ahhh, hellz yeah!!!!! The double Ds are back!!!! This is what every band from the 80s should do...go back to the sound that made you famous in the first place.
i could watch 33 seconds of the video all you need is now!! you can see a guy dressed like the new romantic simon le bon in the planet earth time.. it was like wow!
Eu gostaria muito de ver o DD fazendo um som mais parecido com o primeiro DD e Rio. Era um som diferente e até hoje se mostra único. Seria bom para mostrar para a nova geração como se faz o verdadeiro som dos 80's.
Agrees, this new album really sounds good from what we have heard. But the last good DD album was Medazzaland? Noway! Medazzaland was garbage, no wonder John Taylor left during its development. The last truly good DD album was The Wedding Album. And while Warren was a part of it, and a truly great guitarist, the original sound came with Andy Taylor at the strings.
@thegraggs I agree. I'm a big Andy Taylor fan. I think he's the only Duran guitarist that really captures their true sound. It's really too bad he wasn't involved in this new record. It probably would've up his alley especially if you want the true Duran classic sound. I'm still crossing my fingers for leaked Reportage session songs.
Andy is damn good guitar player, but as I said somewhere on youtube he is a coward. It's easy just walk away. He was supposed to stay and fight for DD. He betray DD, not once but twice. Nothing good has came out with his departure. Not for DD, especially not for him. He will always be a former guitarist of DD.
Astronaut was overall a really good album. What Happens Tomorrow was underrated and deserved a lot more radio play. Good thing Justin Timberlake talked DD into writing Falling Down for Red Carpet Massacre, otherwise that whole album would have been just that--a massacre. Medazzaland wasn't such a bad album. Again, Out of My Mind was one of the best songs of that period and deserved more airplay. DD writes better when they don't think of themselves as a funk/fashion band.
@legazter i agree, but RCM reach top 36 in Billboard and number 10 en Italy, it wasn´t so bad.the problem was this disk was too far of the classical sound of the band.Astronaut was different.
I was very happy with "Astronaut", the 2004 album of DD's cameback, with my favorite song "(Nobody knows) What's gonna happens tomorrow"... then, under the production of Timbaland & Co. for "Red Carpet" album, I finally wasn't satisfied... These 3 songs seems to be not bad but, frankly, I don't think Duran Duran can do something magical like "Rio", "Arena" and "The Wedding Album". The season has gone... Hey: It's only my opinion!
While I will not denounce Warren's contributions, as Big Thing and Notorious are 2 of my fave, he wasn't a part of the original line up that produced the music that made them mega stars. Also, this new music is brilliant. RCM was total shit. Astronaut was pretty much shit. The last good DD album was Medazzaland.
This is just GREAT!!!!!

if only they could skip the disaster of the red career massacre we'd more than likely have killer Andy chops on this cd.

All they need now is Warren Cuccurullo's talent.
Or maybe he's to much for them.
He was responsible for "The Weeding Album" success.
