According to Pakistani leaders the country is suffering from a kind of cancer. Cancers can be cured only early on. No one knows how late it is for Pakistan. If its too late, Pakistan will have to bomb the hell out of its restive regions. This will either lead to a civil war or subjugation of restive regions. If the latter happens there will be peace in Pakistan. Other option is Pakistan leaves the tribes alone. Yes all of these involve huge costs. But there is no such thing as a free lunch!

1) Current president announces that the will of the supreme court, must be respected over the will of any leader. He states that Pakistan justice and the rule of law is the nature of Pakistan. He them yields to an elected goverment, and assits with an orderly transition.

I think the instibility in pakistan is one part of the tactics of "one or some" outside governiment/s to divert the attention of world media. As soon as they achieve their objective/s, the stibility will come not only to pakistan but some other parts of the world. We should pay close attention to the issue of Turkey and PKK. As we know, most "third world" and developing contries around the world are in deep trouble; which is the work of those particular government/s.

Peace and stability in Pakistan can only be achieved if the people of Pakistan wants it. Sadly democracy is no guarantee that it will reduce poverty in Pakistan.Right now there is no unity among the people and many are living under poor conditions, which were the result of the so-called democracy in the 1990s. Right now the comman man in Pakistan is too busy trying to survive and making ends meet. We need Musharraf.

I don't want to admit it, but Pakistan needs a strong dictator (ideally with some concern for human rights) running the government. Before any additional freedoms can be brought to the country, the entire country needs to be under the control of the central government

The government of Pakistan to be run by elected politicians through a transparent election process. The role of the armed forces be clearly defined as not to interfere in the politics of Pakistan. The powers that be (USA,EU etc) to state clearly that anyone from the armed forces will not be allowed under any circumstances to rule the country directly or indirectly.

A country cannot be stable and at peace until it is led by someone popular with the people. The removal of Musharraf would therefore be an immediate, short term solution. However, Pakistan has a history littered with dictators and instability. Peace seems unlikely until a leader able to effectively unite the people of Pakistan emerges.

First Musherif should listne to what Bush said that America wants him to drop the uniform and the Rest of the World, The ASAp release Political apponents then Quickly hold the elections ASAP With Musherif out of Pakistani Politics I believe that part of the World can move forward towards Peace And stability.

i don't think that we (USA) really have the ability to enforce or encourage peace anywhere in the world because of the fact that our military industrial complex along with government officials create most of the chaos in the world by supplying weapons to anyone willing to fight someone else. we need to lead by example by removing our troops from around the world, why would anyone listen to us about peace when we spend more than the rest of the world combined on war?

Pakistan's peace and stability is linked with the Afghan stability and an Afghan stability is linked to the rid of warlords who are dangerious to the both sides and they still are in the corrupted government of Karzai.

they should be wiped out of Afghanistan then the Taliban will also stop spreading fear in an Afghan+Pak territory, and the most important is to let musharraf decide independently and not let the Butto or Nawazsharif or MMA to come with their style of democracy because the whole region has 90% illetracy and premitive minded people, they dont even know the name changes and democracy even from north to south and east west.
