My unit ordered ours in December 2010. We were told we would get them in May 2011 by Para. They still haven't gotten them to our FFL's as of Feb 2012. A lot of excuses and they have fired 3 of the people I was working with on this deal. Everyone is pretty fed up after paying $800 with no results. How long did it take to get your pistol? We all ordered ours with the single stack by the way. Good video. Thanks, Cole
Thanks for the video I just picked mineup a few days ago and have yet to fire it. It took about 7 MONTHS for them to finally get it to me. They were supposed to engrave the grips but did not, and I did not order the night sights but came with them anyways, so I can't complain about free night sights. I paid $799 for mine, but on their order form it would normally cost around $1600.
@NolanMGI awesome. My grips are plastic... I ordered a custom set of wood grips for mine, but the manufacturer messed up and made me grips for a single stack (mine is double stack). Let me know if you ever find someone that will do custom grips for these, because I have not been able to for the life of me.
@MrJmfitch I have not seen any custom grips for these. I noticed the ambi. safety, if you were left handed flip the safety off it does not disengage it on the other side, but the right handed side works like it should. I was wondering if yours was like this. I'm not sure if its deffective or what.
hey i know it was an older vid....but for you my friend i understand you are busy with personal stuff and i will accept the entry! good luck my friend
@HellaFlushEvo This was part of a group order, so I am not certain exactly how much it cost (a bunch of us got it). However, there are loads of places online that duracoat and powdercoat at your just desires. Due to ignorance, I cannot recommend one over the other.
@dia9n0st1c actually, I mispoke... I somehow got that comment mixed up with my Ruger P95. The Para P14 .. the P14 IS my favorite pistol. Love it. Cool that your bro has the same one!.. maybe I know him. Ahh yes, the G18... I would love to own one. Those licenses are mucho expensive
@MrJmfitch....what are your thoughts when comparing the firing experience of this gun to guns like the XD45 tactical or Sig Sauer P220. Does the fatter grip of the hi-cap 45 make it any less desirable in your eyes?
@jack5862 I have not personally fired the P220, but have fired the XD45. My honest opinion: different strokes for different folks. I have gorilla hands, so the big grip works out GREAT for me.... my friend however (with small hands) can't stand it and prefers his smaller, single-stack. I am fortunate enough to gain the extra magazine capacity... especially since this was never intended to be a concealed carry weapon. When in doubt, try it out.
thats very cool! I wish the units I served in did that! I would have bought one. I did buy a Gov't issue .45 when the Army transitioned to the 9mm. I don't have it anymore, I loved it but the slide cracked & I didn't have the $ to fix it. Great pistol man.
@ArmyStinger150 some units do it... some don't .. my first deployment they did custom DPMS AR15s... I regret not getting one. Slide cracked? Your gun horror stories are making me sad. Were you firing reloads?
@MrJmfitch No, actually I was shooting regular rounds I bought from the store at the range...I go to the pistol range on Fort Hood to shoot sometimes. It was a very old pistol, and no telling how many soldiers had it before me. So it could have just been stress from many years of service.
@MrJmfitch Yeah, it was pretty cool...I recieved part of it's maint. records...they went back to late 68'!!! It was probably older than that, I don't have it now so I can't tell you just how old it was...I had all that stuff written down. My Brother-in-Law is in a LRS unit as a Platoon Sgt. Brand new unit here at

@BILLASHLEY3081 managed it for about $700. Came with a match grade barrel, but I got a barsto barrel (which was about $340 after shipping)

@CaliLegal only downside is that I can't use a blackhawk or similar hard holster.. as those easily remove the coating
