Jon, you made the right move taking the job. Youtube is a tool to excel in education and career. Anyone who says otherwise and is jealous, bitter, and is probably unemployed for a reason. I used my channel to re-direct people to my website for news and to sell a videoblog on youtube. It's working out great. Keep up the good work.

Oh wow. The loss of this channel's historic content is for me akin to the burning of the Library of Alexandria 2000 years ago. At least you're "saving some of the scrolls", but the comments and other aspects of what makes a channel a channel will be gone. I have to congratulate you on your new job of course, but I certainly can't say anything good about destruction of knowledge. It's hard to understand why you can't post the new info elsewhere, and avoid burning this channel to the ground.

There's a better less time consuming way to download the videos: a free software called FREE YOUTUBE DOWNLOAD by DVDvideosoft. You can even download whole playlists at a time. Been using it regularly and much better than keepvid and the others.
