  • The U.S. is not legally required to issue or extend a single H-1B visa. The USCIS states that H-1B visas are a 3 year visa (total stay limited to 6 years) for temporary, nonimmigrant workers. These workers are to fill specialty positions when this talent cannot be secured from the local labor pool. Employers are not required to advertise the positions and are given a legal means to discriminate against U.S. workers. Right now, we should not issue and not renew another H-1B visa.

  • This woman's parents immigrated to US couple of decades ago to work. Now she is saying that no more immigrants should be allowed to work in US.

Thats so hypocritic. Please note that everybody is an immigrant in this country.

  • Incorrect.

    She's speaking of H1B "N.I.V.s"

Non-Immigrant Visas in a country with >15% unemployed engineers.

In fact it's a lot more than software/hardware engineers; it's displacing workers with 'slave' labor from across the board creating havoc in the economy.

Most other countries look at the long term viability of their own economic inputs: the income of their workers.

  • The anger is quite genuine. It is hard to retain a job or a career beyond 10 years. The situation is grim for everybody because corporate life cycle has shrunk whereas lifespan has increased. This means that a college graduate should be prepared to be a taxi driver once his or her corporate life cycle is over. Outsourcing, off shoring, & being replaced by cheaper & younger aliens have added to this woe. Only poverty & declining revenues collected by the Govt. will force it to take action.

  • Exactly, and like you said, "College educated be prepared to drive a taxi" which begs the question, "Why would anyone go to college?" Unless something turns around education is becoming a bad investment in this country, this, sadly, will kill American Universities.

  • Comment removed

  • Retraining? Educated? I have a professional degree in Architecture and this has hit my profession! Retrain to what? Somethign less intellectual and techinical? Those jobs are overseas also.

  • This boosts temporary short term firm profitability which allows the CEOs and executives to profit in the short term, but it has destroyed the long term viability of the US economy. The economic collapse we are finally experiencing is a result of 30 years of destroying US jobs and sending them to to cheap unregulated labor markets. Thanks to Reaganomics and the deregulators we now have the burst in the phony Wall Street bubble. We need to raise living standards worldwide, not lower ours.

  • Yes one executive 6 years ago said that there is no long term outsourcing model that works. He also added that this country will become a very dangerous place to live and that he will move his family overseas before the economy finally collapses. He admitted that it is shortsided and will collapse this country financially.

  • In a simple economy workers make things and provide services for a firm. The firm compensates them with money. The workers go into the marketplace and by the goods and services they have just made. What the greedy shortsighted CEO's and executives have failed to realize over the last 30 years is that their workers are also their customers. They have sent all the manufacturing jobs to China for cheap slave labor, reducing their short term expenses.

  • corporate america is all about profit and making their share holder happy. So it's all about finding cheaper workers, a.k.a out source.

  • And it is these corporation's short-sightedness that is destroying us. When Americans cannot buy anymore because all the jobs are in China, who will buy their crap?

Dont expect the Chinese to become the consumers, the value of the yaun is bad, and chinese workers do not get paid anything (well, very little).

These greedy corporations are a massive part of why our economy is screwed up today. That and FTAs, lending practices, and really bad deregulations.

  • I think you have just shot a giant hole in your own theory ! She is an American citizen, most probably born and definitely brought up here in the US. Are you therefore suggesting that all Americans fired are 'grifters' who got the job but couldn't do the work ???

  • In my 'little public school' the one thing I grasped is that rather than pointing fingers at others to cover up my own faults I should work at improving myself and correcting my mistakes. Do not blame others for working hard - that is just pathetic CSF, just pathetic.

  • There is a video here on youtube that shows how American high school kids compare with their contemporaries from Europe when tested on science and math - they fared so low that it was embarrassing for them when told about the result - is it any surprise that these kids do not want to go into science and engineering ??? Idiotic policy makers do not help by crafting myopic education policies that do not address the core issue - how to get more kids interested in science and math.

  • How the hell did Indians demonize the Americans who created the IT industry ??!!?? Working at a job they have been offered on merit is not demonization. Your brain probably could use a good wash !!!

  • If our kids' future is heading to India/China, it's because we bring them here and educate them at our schools while keeping American kids out of our schools. 60,000 Chinese nationals attend U.S. schools every year. 60,000! And we keep complaining that we don't have enough educated people? Try closing the doors to foreign students and putting American students in their place.

  • Who will pay for them ? You ?? There are so many asian students in American universities not because of the nonsensical reason you have concocted but because Americans are simply not interested in taking up courses in science and engineering. Visit some of these universities and talk to the administrators there before blasting off about things you know little about. Indeed, many of these schools would not be able to sustain themselves if they did what you have suggested.

  • This stupid kid has no idea what is going on. U.S. universities want foreign students because:

    1) Foreign students are required to pay higher tuition and the schools are greedy.

    2) U.S. universities are now run by communists who want to give what America has created away to other countries which have never created anything.

You're to young to even remember the Cold War. You're too young and stoopid to know you've been brainwashed by communists in U.S. schools moron.

  • Well Mr. KNOW IT ALL, foreign students in most universities pay out-of-state tuition. There might be some additional processing fees but nothing more than that. Communist conspiracy theories from the cold war aside, the simple fact is that Americans do not want to be geeks and number crunchers - its neither cool for them nor will it make them rich quick. And considering your arrogant, rude and foolish stand on such serious issues may be your brain could use a good wash !

  • As for 'education' being the answer, we're already keeping America's most educated people out of the workforce deliberately. So don't talk to me about 'education' when we won't employ the educated people we already have. Bill Gates and Steve Jobs were both college dropouts. India has the highest illiteracy rate in the world. Education? I don't think so. How about giving the jobs back to the educated Americans whom they were taken away from?

  • I spoke with Sona at length for 3 hours on the phone while writing my book about H-1B. She revealed that she has a lot of family in Silicon Valley from India. I also learned that her agenda is to not just do away with H-1B but also to replace H-1B with unlimited permanent green cards. She got laid off and replaced because she has never created or produced anything. And now she's whining about it. When I told her Americans need to demonize and do a negative PR job on guest workers, she hung up.

  • With all due respect I too would be against a negative PR job on the workers; they're just trying to make a living for their families.

We MUST measure the job loss and not let too much greed take America down with the lack of consumers having money to spend.

  • Of course she hung up - any rational person would rather than associate with your nazi - like 'demonization' program. Instead of wasting your time conjuring up such ridiculous ideas, make solid efforts by contributing to programs that encourage science / math / engineering career paths for kids in middle/high school. Combat the negative geek stereotype that is associated with such professions that affect kids, especially in the mass media. Do and think positive.

  • i'm educated but ended up having to do a non education required job. school is also now a racket.

  • It is a racket. I keep getting spam from a school I once had interest in -- then I found out it was $40k for an Associates in Graphic Design... A field paying $30k/yr on average, and a field being offshored.

    They keep sending me spam.

Another news entity put out an article speaking of jobs in the future in these same venues. Responding to that school for more details on that slant, I got no response. Was that news article lying? No school is preparing for them...

  • hey Ms sona shah your dad was an immigrant who took one poor american's job couple of decades before... so talk to your dad first then better go and get some skills first not just your degree...you need to get some programming skills to become a programmer. lol

  • Based on her ability to speak, I'm sure she was a good programmer; with that intelligence level there can be little doubt.

  • All is not lost - as many including the poster seem to think. What is needed is a revival of the American spirit that built this country, people who worked hard and more for less, where people and society in general become efficient.

Lethargic protectionism will only mask the symptoms of the real problems affecting the American economy.

  • As for the claims by Sona Shah (an American citizen), she seems to make it seem like Americans are being discriminated against in engineering jobs, that an American would not be hired if he/she applies. This is not true at all. People in super specialty fields will always have trouble due to the size of their job markets. As far as the number of Americans entering science and engineering I would like to present my case where there were no Americans at all in my advanced engineering class.

  • This is due to their having seen the clear supply and demand games being played with offshoring and the H1B visa and went other less dangerous ways. This will leave holes for people like you to fill the high security jobs. You may do well despite it all due to this.

Corps have been cherry picking 4.0+ students from main universities for over a decade and as anyone knows, most programming does not even requite advanced math.

  • The vast majority of engineering jobs do NOT require any clearance. People seem to forget that the H1B is capped at 85000 (65000 general, 20000 masters quota) - The bulk of the 65000 is taken up by those who are brought in to perform menial programming tasks where it is NOT justified to pay the worker more than 50K - 60K. The rest is taken up by the Masters quota where the more specialized positions are filled.

  • It is ridiculous to suggest that Americans won't be selected if they take the courses and apply for these jobs. The truth is that these courses are hard and do not pay that well in the end (as compared to say, MBA programs). Also, it is a proven fact that Americans are distancing themselves from science and math from high school itself. Can it be any surprise then that their numbers in science and engineering are declining ? Don't blame the H1B guys just because they are willing to work hard.

  • If you check with American engineers you'll find they are being replaced IN THEIR SEATS in American jobs. This is being used to expedite offshoring and may well bring down the American economy; just like it did to the Romans when their greed ran amok.

NO ONE should blame the H1Bs, as most would do the same thing. Just as the jobless Mexicans have no CHOICE, but to TRY to feed their families my migrating through the fence; this thanks to 'liberal' NAFTA.

  • Competition through free market is a basic tenet of capitalism - you just cannot put it aside when it doesn't suit you. I do not claim that Americans are not being replaced - but thats because the service they are providing is not worth the money they are being paid.

  • ukbang2007, "free market" is a misnomer -- we can't import drugs sold in Canada for far less. Drugs likely made in China anyway. "Free market" requires people to pay for goods. Who can pay for things if workers cannot afford it? Credit cards, perhaps?

  • By free market, I meant reciprocity. I was hoping it would be simple enough but apparently, it isn't.

By that I mean everyone from American aircraft manufacturers, bankers, communication companies and yes, drug manufacturers to American fast food giants, consumer electronics, auto manufacturers and just about anybody who wants to invest being allowed to do so in gigantic emerging markets in India, China and other places so that they can make money for American shareholders.

  • So, by free market I meant give and take - American corporations allowed to make their money in the large emerging markets in Asia by making concessions where necessary. For instance, if India and China were to buy all their aircraft exclusively from Airbus and exclude Boeing completely - a lot of aircraft factories in the US would no longer be viable.

  • Americans should now fight back by:

    1. Improving the level of training.

    2. Working more for less.

    3. Working on their strengths (proximity, understanding customer needs, etc.)

It is time for them to fight back and not hide behind restrictive legislation.

  • Also, money saved from outsourcing benefits American companies in the following ways:

    1. Companies improve profits for American shareholders.

    2. Technology companies have more money for research thus improving their products.

    3. Improved products and profits put them in good stead to face the upcoming compeition from Asian and European companies.

All this was considered in detail before outsourcing became a valuable cost-cutting measure.

  • That's a nice fantasy you have there but American companies don't plow their profits into R&R. The executives pocket it. The quality of everything has been dropping like a rock since we started importing workers and started outsourcing. Once upon a time everything just worked. Now nothing works. American products are declining in quality, not improving - mainly because we've decided to switch to 3rd world labor.

  • Not executives, the shareholders who put their money in these companies - its their money and its therefore up to them what they want to do with it. As for nothing working these days, well, read the manual before operating.

  • Free trade, democracy and the capitalist system has been hawked around the world as being the core of the American way by Americans. Outsourcing and hiring more efficient labor is a part of that idea which seeks to maximize profit for benefit of the investors. I find the opposition to outsourcing and foreign hiring highly hypocritical in light of free trade, the WTO, NAFTA and capitalism in general.

  • In the meantime, lets wage the war against undocumented workers and the $6/Hr jobs at Home Depot while the Corporations give away our bread and butter.

  • In order for America to compete in global economies, we must take care of our greatest assets, the people, and give them the tools to defend themselves (such as training) from this influx of H1 visas, it is not possible that we allow ourselves to be stereotyped by people who have nothing but contempt of the American people but are willing to live the American Dream. There is no sympathy for us. We must take care of ourselves before helping others.

  • Sona Shah, please go back to india!!! Deport Sona Shah!

  • She is a US citizen, most probably born and/or brought up in the US. As for your ignorant rant, she is speaking FOR the likes of you although the greatest irony is that even amongst US born scientists and engineers today it is the asian community (Chinese, Indians, Koreans, etc. who are the children of immigrants) that is starting to dominate in terms of numbers - an irony that I am sure is not lost on Ms. Shah in spite of her protests.

  • bitch..she is an Indian

  • Again I would want to mention the "innovation" and why it is not coming of South Asian countries. We are doing are best to make use of the resources we have but government structure in India prevents "innovation" from happening.

If that hurdle was taken out we would quite literally overwhelm you with all the innovations that would ensue.

  • Get this one more fact right. If some guy in south Asia is willing to do the job at a lower rate then he would get it that is as simple as that. I understand that American people do not want to leave their lavish lifestyle and still want the mega salary which is simply not possible given the gig of globalization

If you do not want that to happen first take all MNC's out of South East Asia. God has not given you brownie points simply because you are in some geographic location.

  • I understand and accept the fact that American people are not "stupid" as they are termed many times, that is utterly wrong. However, there is great lack of interest in studies; I have experienced it during my stay here. Many of the undergrads here are into booze, drugs and things of the nature which do not promote intellectual growth.

  • One of the venture capitalist of Sun Microsystems is an Indian named Vinod Khosla. "Hotmail" was invented by an Indian named Sabeer Bhatia. The guy who works along side warren buffet is an Indian Marwari.

Some of the best professors in ome of very best schools of this country are Indian.

Get one thing very clear in you head that IQ is not given after seeing your skin color.

  • Also, I have nothing against American people or I do not consider them "intellectually weak" .But there were some comments pointing to the lack of entrepreneurial spirit in India and no innovation coming out of that place. Referring to it, I would like to mention that 4 out of 10 richest people in the world today are Indians.

  • Get one more thing very clear. Businesses have one goal that is to make money, they will take the route which is cheapest and gives them result. What is wrong in going to a place where a particular job is done considerably cheaply? If you accept the doctrine of "globalization" you shall accept this as well.

  • Now, US comes and promotes their brands in countries like India , China and transfer millions of dollars (which essentially is a money of Indian ,Chinese people). This is "fair" considering that we are a "global" economy. If an Indian guy comes here and does the job on his H-1 via then that hurts you. Where is the concept of "globalization" gone now? Does it now apply now?

  • Well I am graduate student at one of the prestigious US University.

I totally understand the fear of US people about losing their job to south East Asia.

Some of you talk about enterprising, innovative qualities etc coming from North America and regard US as greatest country and cradle of leadership which in my opinion is utter hypocrisy.

Explain me, (if you can) following scenario. US claims to be "capitalistic" society and would want to do business on global level.

  • asdf

  • indian americans are the only race in the world trying to destroy indian capabilities and Indian immigrant to america

And pretend to lobby for India ,and give lip service , no dual citizenship , for such scum

  • Wage insurance is a idiotic concept.

That is like buying insurance for delaying the hangman's noose.

Would wage insurance have helped the computer programmer being interviewed? Her brother than cannot find work?

Politicians have been talking about removing the tax benefit of outsourced labor for a decade. Nothing has been done.

  • The whole argument of re-training is complete B.S. and the media never holds the politicians to account for these assigning statements.

70% of the population does not have a bachelors. The other 30% are competing for jobs with H-1Bs that graduated in questionable institutions.

What is the population going to do for a living?

Nursing is one of the few job growth areas. Is the U.S. going to become one big nursing home? An economy based on nursing? Based Government?

    Spare me.

  • What matters is can you work hard or not?.Can you deliver quality work for a lot more less...or not...when the answer is yes...the job is yours and it is here to stay.

  • The fact is simple....American Jobs will stay here only if american workers are ready to work out very hard for it and that too for very less....I know indian grads work overnights in companies and do such quality work...that it would be impossible with out a lot of hard work...An american employer told me that they had planned the project for three years and an indian team did all that work in one and half years.....with not much support...It really doesnt matter where you are educated.

  • 'Sona Shah' is not an American, but an Indian. Does anyone else see the irony here?

  • She's of Indian origin but she's an American! How thickheaded can you get?!

  • How can she keep saying 'We' this and 'We' that, as if she is speaking for the USA. It was MY Ancestors who built this Nation, not hers. My family have been here since Columbus. That ding-dong just got off the banana boat, and I'm insulted and disgusted by this whole PC 'Multiculturalism' BS charade!

  • Hey Mr BIKabballa who the hell told you that America was built by you or your ancestors. Your ancestors also came on a bannana boat. Everyone who is born in this country is an american and has worked hard for the progress of this country. So dont you think that america belongs to you it belongs to everone no matter what is there country of origin.

  • Your family has been here since columbus...the american indians family next door has been here since adam and eve.....and they take exception to your saying you are the owner of this land....

  • Indeed. I'm part European and Part Indian (Native American). I am of This Land in every sense, as my roots run deep since the beginning of time.

  • Indian IT has been a fraud from day one. Americans are TRAINING THEM. Most Indians' degrees are fraudulent and unverifiable. Most of them have what we would consider a 7th grade education. The whole thing has been a fraud perpetrated by a poor country who wants what we have. In 1998 India's IT lobby NASSCOM *bought* PR in US media claiming "worker shortages". They want jobs here so they can send our money out of the country as fast as possible. $10,000 USD is a lot of $ in India.

  • Well, in the old days, there were quite a few sharpies brought in; this applied to any country that used the H1B.

However, in recent years resume fraud became rampant and we were getting very low quality product. (I see your comment has not been popular with the Indians. Ahhhhh!)

  • Ahhh!! So I am a fraud. Maybe that why I get paid 180k per year! Maybe I should slipped a little white lie of winning a Noble Prize or two. Could got a coupla hondos more!

  • The reason for the disparity in Americans is in the ~1998 time frame the writing was all over the walls for those watching. According to several Computer Science profs, American students were streaming away from the engineering fields due to offshoring.

When the only secure jobs are in law enforcement, military is a very good sign of a nation in descent.

Perhaps the fact so many went running the other direction will bode well for the few Americans left.

Good luck to you and your friends!

  • I graduated from a not-so-presitigious university with an engineering degree, and almost all of the people that I graduated with got a job right after graduation. It is absolutely true that skills are declining among Americas. Almost 2/3 of engineering Phds in this country are earned by foreigners. Thank the fact that our science curriculum is a bunch of butterflies, evolution, and fluff. That, and the fact that when it comes to education, we are living in a super-egalitarian fantasy-world.

  • ps. Were you able to get a non-support job?

(It appeared they'd keep the HW design onshore; that those jobs were secure due to representing the real 'crown jewels' of the corp.) However, I've now read even those jobs will be done, to varying degress, in India and China.

We'd better hope for some new energy or other high technology growth.

But why would it be suddenly good to build here?

  • Your arguments do not have any logic. It should be pretty obvious to you now that the days of free money are over. Thank God that you are not born in Somalia or Ethiopia.

  • 2/3 of engineering Phds in this country are foreign because foreigners pay a much HIGHER tuition than U.S. citizens. The schools like everything else has turned into a money machine. Let's try reversing that and see what happens: let's let foreigners go to school here for free and make Americans pay. You'll see a real quick change in the demographics of engineering Phds if we do that.

Not to mention that most Asian students CHEAT their way through school.

Name one software company in India.

  • Bullshit. In fact, many foreign graduate and Ph.d science and engineering students actually get government grants. At many unis the numbers are so imbalanced that they favor American students in admissions. Until we start promoting a REAL science curriculum, and not one that is essentially institutionalized worship of Darwin and Malthus, America will always get their asses kicked in every science other than those related to ecology/evolution. And that comment about Asians...LOL. Racist much?

  • Funny how so many are allowed to get away with lambasting Europeans and Euro-Americans with impunity, but dare mention the fact that America receives more than her fair share of foreign immigrants, and give them safe harbor and a fresh start, I'm tired of the ingratitude. Reverse Racist Much???

  • Have u ever heard of Infosys or Wipro or TCS??? I think Infy n TCS r listed on NASDAQ...hopefully u'll open ur eyes as well.

  • "Name one software company in India."

Lolz! I'm sure even a country like Afghanistan has more than a hundred IT companies!

  • Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Tata, Satyam, HCL. I think you need to read about the software industry before commenting. Btw, how do you know Asian students cheat through school? Have you got any stats to back it up or are you just being bitter?

  • dstevens is a either a bit senile or has poor knowledge of english.

    - He calls Bush a pacifist

    - He calls me a fascist and tries to block my posts, hence my new ID

    - He generally is clueless about whatever he talks, especially when it comes to history

    Watch this post go away.

  • You are a liar or do you care to show where I called Bush a 'pacifist'? LOL!

I block racist posts or rants always will; get over it.

Interesting that your post is lacking any details or examples. WHY? You're a manipulative liar; likley a racist or other hate-ist if I've blocked you.

Actually, just mistating and using sophistries as you have with your 'new id' will also get you blocked. We've enough liars in the forms and who should support them?

    Got Facts or just smoke?

  • Check your post 3 weeks ago. You quoted.

If Americans want to occupy foreign countries then why did Bush get elected on a non-intervention policy? ..benefits from the creation of terrorism.). Now thats a big joke.

Now dont start teaching me english, I know what non-intervention means.

I have never posted any racist comments as well. BTW, stick to your one language, that will help you bitch about things, or you can choose to come out of your cave ( prbly in West Virginia or Detroit ROFL ) .

  • What happend to the part where I said Bush was a 'Pacifist'?

You also 'forgot' the part where it was pointed out that he too was a liar.

But that does not change what he promised to get the support of Americans; that was by promising 'No Nation Building'. Most Americans did not even vote for him; you did not know he was appointed by the Supreme Court after caging the elections?

You should consider working in the media if you don't already; you're perfect!

  • dstevens101 .. Cool down man.. Why getting crazy.. Our Govt. will work out .. But i knw your history is little poor

  • History has as many versions as there were victims and victors; usually the whole truth is in neither.

I'm also not beyond making mistakes, so please feel free to correct me should you see one. Those with substance usually don't hesitate to post information, the others make ad hominem attacks or just post baloney.

i.e. the claim, 'Bush is a pacifist'? ROTFL!

Seriously, thanks to your bud for the laugh!

  • watch freedom to fascism if you want to know the root to Americas problem.

  • If you take a look at the background on my channel you'll see that was one of the first videos watched. The claim about the womens rights movement was an eye opener, but that may have been in one of Russo's other interviews. His name was foreign to me then, despite being a big fan of his work.

Russo was quite a guy and I've no doubt the CFR ordered him to be spotted. (Triggers cancer: our fascist masters are ruthless.)

  • this is so true

  • ----I know USA schools have more funding THAN other schools in INDUSTRILIZED nations (SOME SCHOOLS)... AND NOW these CEO suckers are saying USA workers are not educated ... THAT is STUPID IDEA ... ---MORE likely they want MORE MONEY FOR THEMSELVES ...

  • Outsourcing is done so that western companies can charge inflated prices from customers, getting an inflated profit, and live in inflated dream of being rich, happy and developed.

In reality, world is flat. Everything else is artificial and fiction, made by previous generation who grew p on video games and cartoon network.

  • A lot of people have that perception due to history, but this time: 1) It's deliberate as it likely was in 1929. 2) They'll jump on their jets, fly away and wait for us to eliminate their huge looming baby boomer financial problem by killing each other in our attempts to survive without jobs. 3) When the army arrives, ala Alamo, and retakes control, they'll fly back and buy up land on the cheap.

  • --- IF enough people loose their JOBS ... THAT means alot of ANGRY people FUCKED by CAPITALISTS ... MEANS people will rise and FUCK THEM ALL UP ....

  • Many will be disappointed to learn this is not the case. The 'Kings' and 'Queens' will hop in their jets and fly off to a small city and wait for the dust to settle.

They've likely already someone very popular waiting to be thrust forward as our 'savior'.

Their entire game is based on infiltration, of countries, companies, families and even of certain individuals. (It's the all seeing eye thing.)

  • --- AMERICAN DREAM has big cancer ,....

  • Both Democrat and Republican administrations have been out to screw the U.S. worker and economy for decades. The "free trade" ideology is nothing more than the Titanic without compartments theory of shipbuilding where "free flow" of everything can sink everything at once. Look at how the mortgage mess is causing a worldwide financial mess. Whether is is jobs, production or capital the whole globalized system is prone to deadly imbalances that can capsize the whole thing.

  • geek, US is not the world!! Asia is doing Ok and will survive the crash since they have relatively little in US mortgages. Canada will do relatively good too, they have a strong economy and they have the most liberal immigration policy. Blame the middle class, including the US workers for real estate hype, and the US and UK govt for "investing" too much in bombs.

The bad part is the richest get bailed out first, like Bear Sterns execs. That happens everywhere in the world.

  • Oh yes, blame the middle class upon whose back the American predomance was built.

Until they were no longer needed, or so the greedy and short term thinking bastards thought. Why else kill the golden goose we use to have that powered the economies of the world.

Now that they've moved it offshore look where we're left: to fall off the economic abyss, but not until our retirements and the US currency/treasury has been deflated/looted.

  • The Problem is the strong unions. Strongg unions mean higher pay but higher unemployment. If we weaken the unions, people have lower pay but people have jobs. Simple as that.

  • This is funny as I was taught to believe that one as well; of course few engineers have a union.

That's management propaganda as those with unions at least have an opportunity to retain their pensions and benefits.

  • What an opportunistic bitch? Indians complaining about Indians? It is a globalized economy - face it, if you are a rocket scientist you get a job.

Or go and find a job in a factory in a communist nation, err...China, LMAO.

  • No disrespect intended, but is English not your first language? Please rewatch and post that to which you refer. Thx!

She was not complaining about Indians, India, or China, but about the corrupt Neocons and Neocrats working so hard for their corporate masters.

A 'capitalistic' system where only corporations have the benefits of 'socialism' and on the backs and soon even the blood of American workers. (Handed first cheap labor, and now McCain's generous offers of no health coverage.)

  • ps. Sona was very concerned about Indians and Americans being exploited. (Not the companies, the workers that no one else cares about other than how to USE THEM.)

I'd bet you did not even WATCH the video, and just came by to blow smoke.

  • That is disrespect!! English is not my first language - I say, so what? I can probably speak more languages than you do.

And she complains about corporate masters when she or her relatives wants to get a job in one of those corporations? Sounds silly.

Do Americans care about Neocons? No way. Otherwise Ron Paul would be the president. The world is irreversibly globalized, either adapt or perish, as Darwin says. People who complain generally perish first.

  • dstevens101 , so the American worker wants

    - Low taxes

    - Universal health coverage

    - "Capitalism" that works in one country's favor, take for example forceful occupation of other countries for cheap oil and goods

    - Job protection

    - Japanese cars and imported stuff

Ask that girl what she is wearing. Probably it is made in China.

What a bunch of opportunist!!.That won't work for ever , and Colonialism is a thing of the past, bring on Globalization.

  • The comment on English was your apparent complete 'misunderstanding' of the video.

If Americans want to occupy foreign countries then why did Bush get elected on a non-intervention policy? (He was lying, of course, but only the mili-dustrial complex benefits from the creation of terrorism.)

It's the Masonic method of population control,

"Support the weaker party in the war to maximize deaths."

And yes, most western nations need protections from the ravages of ruthless capitialism.

  • I have no misunderstandings. Are you are saying Bush projected himself as a pacifist and a non interventionist, you are kidding right ???!! Yeah, he lied to 300 million people in TV and his terror agenda got him the votes.

And without China, you would be buying a cheap T-shirt for $100.

It is called hypocrisy. And as I said, things won't work that way for ever - time for a little bit of equality, for the good of the world.

  • Yeah, all Ivy leagues and rocket scientists out in the streets unemployed...good laugh.

And BTW, Silicon valley still leads the world in innovation and is pretty much a hub for immigrants world over.

If you want McJobs, you get McWages.

  • So you cannot read either? I'm hopeful your command of your other languages is much better than your English.

Oh, and if you re-read more slowly you'll see that's not what was said.

As you're likely a fascist shill you'll find out your exact value to your corp/gov masa when you see a flash in the distant sky and many large American cities fall prey to..

you guessed it, a 'terrorist attack' with all passports recovered intact and all stolen identities from IRAN; just n time to stop Obama.

  • Couple of more pacifists and non-interventionists in the race. I need to check my dictionary..LOL

    watch?v=o-zoPgv_nYg

  • Readers: Pls notice how 'unethic' twisted and spun after giving the appearance of possibly misunderstanding the video.

    Good example of a troll.

It's called the Strawman argument and precededes the so-called conspiracy 'theory'. Should you research the latter you learn the only 'tin-foil' you'll find on major conspiracies was put there to protect the conspiracists and provide talking points for the 'mainstream media', also known as BS who protect the worst as per their CFR masters.

  • hey u indian american , its shame on ur part to comment on a country like india. Its nit india's fault its america's people who want to have higher salaries for low jobs also.....

  • Another 'Strawman' that's here to blow smoke as she never did any such thing; in fact she spoke of the H1b slaves with which they've been gifted to take advantage.

Mostly, H1B workers are quite mediocre and some are much less, but they all rarely have the experience claimed on their resumes.

I've seen numerous screwed up projects repaired by 'inferior Americans'.

  • Are we?

Or are we led, almost without exception, by those that match your description?

Those smart enough to control the media and the mind share as to who's the 'EVIL', 'BARBARIC', 'WILD', 'LONG-HAIRED',

    'TERRORIST' of the day.

  • the anchors seem to have no idea what is goin on.

  • i'm an indian grad student in america..

i think americans want lots of money for the lowest jobs..cmon dude u cant live without a car..a laptop..all fuckin luxuries..

i know a undergrad in my school got a job in a publc school..gettin paid 55 grands..cmon..she's a education major n thats bullshit

thats y ur compaies r going abroad

  • Even if a lot of americans refuse to agree, you're right.

They can't lose their luxurious lifestyles at any cost and as a result, the work is all heading to people in countries that have smaller needs.

  • Hallelujah!!!! Sona Shah knows what she is talking about. I'm currently training my replacement in India to take my job.

  • any frikin american who is jobless even after getting a degree is purely incompetent and cannot find out. Thats the bottom line and then they go around blaming the system and the immigrants for it..pathetic losers

  • You're correct of course, but they had different ideas for their degrees than Home Depot or the McJobs we now count as "manufacturing" jobs.

(Bushys managed to get making burgers classified as manufacturing! NO KIDDING.)

Someone said this recession is being caused by offshoring. That indeed would be nice, but it's a DEPRESSION the Illuminati was shooting at.

  • Not only has outsourcing caused recession, but it is also that corporate greed has caused outsourcing. The Chinese and Indian workers are severely exploited by their bosses and their American contractors. China and India undervalued their currencies to gain unfair trade advantage.

  • Disagree. They are just more hardworking and they are happy with their working condition. Go read "China Road" by Rob Gifford. The Chinese workers say they earn more at factories than they get at farms. They also think that Europeans are lazy, working only 5 days a week and too pampered by the unions.

  • Well said,

    H for Hypocrisy

    L for Labor Unions

    M for McDegrees

  • "China and India undervalued their currencies to gain unfair trade advantage."

Oh so now its up to the countries to change the value of their currencies? Hey I have an idea! Why doesnt US undervalue its currency in return??

Oh wait a minute, its already doing that!!

  • Outsourcing caused recession. Industries made huge profit and invested money, which in turns, aggressively gave it to loan-seekers even the ones with poor credit history. But Industry leader DID NOT realized that they have taken jobs away from middle-class, hence without jobs, people cannot pay loans, LEADING TO CREDIT CRISIS.

  • the only future your kids have here is working in the tourism industry....because after 10 years american economy will be equal to that of jamaica..... and indian and chinese will buy your 13 yrs old for house duties..

  • ROTFL! Where'd you get your "education" on a box of Cheerios?

Ya might want to review not just China's policy on importing foreign labor, but also India's, before you go SWALLOWING YOUR FOOT!

If what you wrote indicates "hate" then what does their policy indicate?

We've just deliberately dropped the same proverbial "last straw" as that of the Romans.

YraqQuilli is correct, but this time it cannot be called a mistake as it will b Golden 4 those with FUNDS to buy up land post crash.

  • America get ready to colapse and all you talk about is bring in more asians, your a retard

your a stupid man -- america is bankrupt

  • America, and abroad as well is being collapsed.

If you think ANYTHING in politics happens by mistake, then you too would be thinking like the fool.

Too much of the TRUTH is published in English. Too many are connected and learning of same; it IS a threat to the NWO.

  • bill gates has done more to help india that india richest, the American taxpaying honkeys have been expected to bail everyone out for last 100 years, we bailed out france the jews what has india done beside worship cows?

  • first all those hindus who worship cows not me...and second of all I am not Indian.

  • No i don't hate asians, you said you wanted white people to go back to europe, Dude are you going save the american indian? I am against h1b because is no shortage of tech people. Rich whites try to take advantage of situation. Blacks and whites will never leave Amereica because they have no place to go. H1b is a way to take advange of people who think america is rich country. America is going down toliet as we speak because of Bush, coruption, abortion etc...

  • If they worship cows that's fine, whatever but they should not think they are superior. Bill Gates did more than their own Indian-elite rich snobs, to save India's poorest. American middle class black/white did alot for the world despite what you think. You are dead wrong to call them trash. H1b is wrong so is tax break for outsourcing. Why don't they flood market with doctors, lawyers and every other white collar profession?

  • Oh, come on!! America is the biggest beneficiary of globalization. Cashing in both ways - global labor & global market.

  • not exactly, corporate America is, not american people.

  • Not even close; just a very, very small percentage.

  • gujju on fire...indian is talking against indians...nice job white folks.

  • It is clear that she wants a job in the USA, where she is a citizen. There is no indication that she is against Indians. You are either incapable of basic English language comprehension, or you are intentionally distorting the content of the video clip to portray yourself in a pitiful light as a victim of something -- of what?

  • you are right shitlish is not my first language.

  • neocons started Iraq and Afghanistan wars not white people, your solution is simple move to Communist China or back to India, the fact of the matter is white and blacks in most cases do not have country to go back too. they lost contact with everyone, i do not even know where i am from -

  • more racist ramblings from kingpin raceist K.

  • white KKK folks held gun to her head, they made her do it

  • why would you say that if your not Indian?

'...indian is talking against indians...nice job white folks. ' no your racist

  • what is this guy saying get a job at Mcdonalds (lower paying job)

  • coming out of recession. We are still in one, starting one

  • We're starting a lot more than a recession.

    Or were we pushed?

  • I agree with her! But it will fall on deaf ears until big business in dampened in Washington. Large corporation, US and international, have gained such a foothold politically, they'd have to be shoehorned out, which simply means doing to them what they have been doing to tech professionals. Then, when they balk and whine about it, simply do what they do... turn a deaf ear. Not buying their products or services is a delightful argument, but that would never work! Or vote Ralph Nader!!

  • I think Americans are one of smartest people in the world but Ms. Sona is nobody to say that. And if she can, the I can say that Indians are one of the smartest too. But the point is that world has become a global village now. Believe it or not, competition is higher. If you do not want that, then become a closed economy.

  • No you people have very strict immigration laws along with %180 tax on car imports so no your very much hypocrites, really %180 tax is totally insane don't talk to me about open economy - your here for rich whites to take advantaged of nothing more, people like Gates and scumbag CEO of Motorola. At least Bill Gates give back to India he does little for his own coutry but go to congress and complain there are not smart Americans to hire. He is a jack ass wimp who can't compete with google!

  • Interesting you'd pick Bill Gates as your savior, not surprising at all. However, for an American to do so would be very foolish as he has helped export our middle class to you and China.

This MALE version of the Black Widow Spider has killed out more rock solid AMERICAN software firms that anyone in history. First by collaberation while creating his own products to TAKE THEM OUT once the blood of their company has been sucked dry.

He's Yours Truly India; which nobody can deny.

  • Ms. Sona's father came to this country on a student visa and turned it into H1 and then a greencard and then she and her bro got her citizenship. I want to ask her that, if her father would not have got a "job" here in US she would not have been able to say that she is a American Indian. Its a matter of being on the opposite side of the line I think. I cannot imagine a physicist from NYU is unemployed, I think they don't even know "ethics" themselves and are arrogant to get a job.

  • Sona's dad did not come under H1B. The current form of H1B program was created in 1990; Sona's dad was not a part of that program.

  • But he was an immigrant himself, or her grandfather I assume. Now isn't that wrong? Well, if this is such a big problem then US should become a closed economy I think. Also, I am an A+ engineer in Chemical engineering and I am having trouble finding a job, does not mean I am ranting about it. I am trying to work my way through it and not sit back and ask for a 120K USD a year. With this world becoming a global village, this was bound to happen. Ms. Sona, deal with it.

  • >> he was an immigrant himself

The issue is the H1B program NOT immigration: H1Bs are NIVs not immigrants.

    >> does not mean I am ranting about it

You should if you are a perminant resident and your job is given cheap foriegn labor.

    >> I am trying to work my way through it ...

If you haven't got a job in your field by now you probably won't ... get used to it.

  • answer to this that these countries have to be innovative, and create wealth in their own country.

  • Next time you buy your underwear in walmart for $3, remember its imported. Stop free trade and you will end up buying it for $30. These very same people who complain are opportunists and would not hesitate to buy Chinese and Japanese goods.

  • What an opportunist, an Indian complaining about outsourcing.Face its, its a capitalistic free trade society, the best will win.

    Do you expect government handout?

  • You mean cheapest, but you're already seeing the 'benefits' of offshoring.

    GOT STOCK?

  • Have you not noticed that 'free trade' is the the biggest myth n capitialism?

Now that we OWN/control Iraqi oil the prices skyrocket? The 'Greens' are likely funded by the oil industry. It's also one tactic for maintaining the polarization with the 'Liberal'/'Conservative' myth.

Unless you think it coincidental that the 'Greens' have single handedly increased the price/profitability of gas more than Chevron.

Only the British and American military have done more for oil profits.

  • she is NOT indian .. just as a descendant of irish immigrants to the US isn't irish.

  • excellent video

  • I'm Chinese and everytime I see a Indian tourist or businessman in China who seems lost, I'd go out of my way to help him out. Why? Because China and India together account for 40 percent of the world's population, and we should be friends. When these 2 countries both become developed countries in 20 or 30 years, it'll dramaticlly change the world we live in...for the better.

  • So basically you're racist.

  • China should work with India, and also Korea, south east asia, middle east and africa, so that we can become better than EU, USA and Japan

  • india is in south asia, but culturally closer to its eastern neighbours. india's destiny, social/cultural/economic lies in joining forces with its eastern neighbours.

  • Not possible. China's communist, India's "democratic" and the Chinese are too far ahead to ever consider India as equals.

  • equals in what brain power?? i think ur wrong there. our government is bad, thats why we are not not "equal"!!!!!

  • I meant equals in economic, political and military power, not brain power which is independent of country anyways. Agree about the cause though, the govt is bad. The problem is majority of the voters are too stupid to realise that and/or like to make the same mistakes coz there is no one else to vote for. Unless the govt is improved, China will remain the biggest force in Asia.
