  • Yeaaaaa, the orginal Playtable is back....

    AND the organ.........

  • was it really in his house?

  • Yes !!! LE Maitre de l'orgue. Le plus grand. Le seul.

  • Warum braucht er eine Heimorgel? Er hatte doch alles, was das Herz begehrt, in Notre-Dame!

  • Keraulophone, sorry, but sans accents graves, cédilles and circonflexes and this way, as I can't do a vertical list here:

    Orgue positif Hartmann (1962)

    I. Grand orgue (56 notes)

    : Bourdon (wood) 8; Principal conique (in facade) 4; Sesquialtera 1 3/5 (+ 2 2/3 to C```); Fourniture IV; II. Récit (56 notes):

    Bourdon (metal) 8; Flute a fuseau 4;Doublette 2; Larigot 1 1/3; Régale conique 8; Pédale (30 notes): Basse 8; borrowed from GO); Régale 16; Quintaton 4; I/Péd, II/Péd, II/I.

  • Zoli, je t'embrace pour cette video!! The origin of this instrument is truly enigmatic: Cochereau himself says he'd collected the pipework over an extended period through friends, as I understand it from around 7.20 (correct me if I'm wrong). Roquevaire actually includes 17 Cochereau ranks. A 62-stop instrument, to become 75 (never completed before being taken from the Villa Rafale in Nice to the biggest church in Provence, St Vincent's. His portable organ, 14 stops by Hartmann, is in Cannes.

  • Do you know where I can find the stoplists of both his residence organ and the Hartmann organ?

  • Thanks for this very interesting video.

  • I'm about to find out who built his home organ, and where it is today:-)

  • Cet orgue se trouve maintenant à Roquevaire (13) près de Marseille

  • @chamade216 erm In notradame cathedral

  • @chamade216 i think i heard him mention cavaille-coll as the organ builder

  • @chamade216 If I recall correctly, this is a Cavaille-Coll built for Guillmants home, which was next door to his. When Guillamnt died, he bought the organ from his family, built a special hall for it and instelld it inside. This is the instrument seen in the video

  • @pordzio In the book, "Recollections" par Marcel Dupre, Dupre talks about (and photos are shown) of Guilmants Pipe Organ. One thing and from memory, the photo did not look like this instrument. ie: It did not appear as large. Good thing the WWII Bomb that hit Dupres house spared the organ by just a few feet! Dupre was still very much alive when this movie was made. Perhaps Guilmant had several Pipe Organs?

  • @Musique3579 Well, I did some research recently, and You were right about this not being Guilamnts organ. In fact, if you search YT you will find two videos with improvisations on that organ.

  • Un sous-titrage en anglais serai le bienvenue pour nos amis qui parlent anglais

  • Wonderful! Pierre Cochereau - I can't believe to see him. Many thanks for this incredible video!!

  • Would some kind soul make English subtitles?

  • The original console!!!!

  • Superb!

  • Greatest organist ever.

  • Quel plaisir de voir et d'entendre Pierre COCHEREAU! Merci !!!!

  • Thanks a million for this Zoli !!! Cochereau is such suaveness and passion at the same time !
