Well done.. indeed a really great insight on the fashion industry from your view point that sends out such a strong message .. amazing ! looking forward to more of your uploads. All the best
Nice video.. it does give a snapshot on fashion in the sub continent. Although the fashion Industry still needs to cover a lot of distance interms of creativity. Im sure a lot of it is there which needs to be uncovered and discovered. It is high time no doubt. If fashion has to be exported then it has to be of the level of exporting. And unfortunately somehow comments on demolition of unauthorised structures in Delhi has been biased. Somehow fashion houses happened to be on the same road.
Its a thought provoking video and a great effort. One point that it screams out aloud without using words is that the people who are actually behind knitting and sewing these designer wear get the smallest fraction of the revenues generated from the sale whereas fancy designers who do not even prefer to communicate in their own mother tongue boast of tradition and reap all the laurels. The fashion industry is a gigantic gooey ball of farce with nothing meaningful inside.
Excellent debate on the issue of West exploiting developing countries... But should it stop and not give some creative artists an opportunity to make their mark... i dont know.... guess, our animal instincts kick in.. big fish eat small one..
Well said and shown... Which do we choose to consciously participate in and carry forward? Which do we want to recreate? Which is it time to relinquish? Only when we live the answers to these questions will we be empowered to weave our unique design into the tapestry of our family, our country, and our world....once again a nice one, keep uploading more.... CHEERS- Regards, Sandeep
Loved the whole story - it definitely needs telling!
The subcontinent needs to throw off the exploitative factory model and go back to a khadi-grama kind of individualism. Glad you're making the point so vividly.:)
I'm waiting to see more of your work, wordsmithsae.:)
A most important and valuable insight to the world of fashion, given that the West want the new trends, but forget how the items they wear were created. The cost to human factor at a price of ones own cultural and uniqueness. Well done, keep up the good work. ~ JoshivaMedia ~ 2009_Dec_02
