The way these Muslim leaders act (for example, Ayatollah Khomeini issuing the fatwa on Salman Rushdie, leading to the deaths of people associated with Rushdie), they don't paint a positive picture of their religion as a whole. It doesn't help Islam's case when Ibrahim Al-Banna says that 9/11 was "a virtuous act."

If you actually spend 5 minutes to read about it, it is an economic and political theory advocating public or common ownership and cooperative management of the means of production and allocation of resources. In conclusion, it does not mean government owned, but people-owned.
It means that not only does government get out of the way, but so do the corporations. The people create councils to control their own country/companies.

@chaumont20 Firstly, I wouldn't use Cuba to use as an example of a Socialist country because it has been illegally sanctioned for over half a century which has been the longest sanction in human history done by a state on another. USA's sanctions have hurt its people more than the government. Just like their sanctions on Saddam's Iraq or Iran.
On the other hand, I'm visiting Cuba this winter break and later on during the summer break. I also hope you too would go there to see for yourself.

I hate it when people get worked up over someone getting fired over what they said, and the people would say "Free Speech!". Yeah, it's free speech, but the boss doesn't like what that person said because they might lose money over what that person said. All that free speech does is protect that person from going to jail, but if the boss doesn't like what you say when you talk for a living, then that person has the right to fire you. 'Nuff said.
