Oh absolutely! I told everyone that would listen! It was also the first time I'd seen Jen since I'd been to Munich so I had a lot of stuff for her including the napkin Regina wrote on for everyone to read her greeting from.
And a fantastic time was had by all! GREAT video, Michael!! Wish I could have been there. Loved the stills at the end. The only fault I could find is that you didn't turn the camera on yourself! Loved it, though.

I'm trying to get my effort to upload at the moment after several days of battling away with the animating. I hope you like it.
I'm amazed you've been able to get the animation done so quickly. It took me a week to get around to just cutting out the glitches and putting this one up!

Yeah, that's why I switched to still photos. The strange thing is that it looks dark when I'm filming, OK on the computer but dark again when uploaded. Also, incresing brightness in WMM is OK when playing back, but the processing of the video seems to remove it. Strange.

Ah cool with the ship! Australia gets 'hand-me-down' cruise ships after they've ended their life in the US or Europe because we don't know any better. That one is new to us.
Your first Gathering will happen before you know it.
Just did a quick bit of research on the ship. It's the 'Pacific Dawn', built in 1991 (in Italy - oops!) & operated by Princess Cruises as 'Regal Princess'. So it is 17 years old.
You're right that the ship looks like the Oriana. The two vessels are practically identical specification. I'm incredibly impressed with your ship spotting skills!
But yeah it looked a lot like the Oriana. Ships from the Meyer warf always pass by on the Ems estuary which I can see from my balcony and then they are further kitted out in the 'Ems harbour' where they also undergo their sea trials and that is 20 kilometers north from here. You can see them from miles inland, towering over the flat landscape. Quite an impressive sight.
There's something very cool about the big ships. It massively appeals to me. The weird thing is with all the people I know who want to fly 747s around the world, the same people don't think of ships.
I do know one (aircraft) pilot who has got her ratings for large ships though. I guess there's a structure to it like any other training.

Yeah, I really like the pub stuff at the end. YT always seems to have lower light levels than in editing. [YT Mystery #6324]
The whole day was a huge amount of fun, with the people I knew already, new ones I met, & the day in its own right.
I'm glad this generation of YTers have discovered the Gatherings. They are truly amazing. What Fabiana did with just flying over still amazes me. She saw a promo video 4 days before, checked I was going (for a friendly face) & booked a ticket.
That's very cool. It must be awesome meeting a bunch of YouTubers in one place at one time.
We recently had a small, very small gathering in Gainesville, Florida. There were two of us. :)

The ferry ride and the night at the pub looked like total successes.
