I am a member of the Midleton Educate Together start up committee and we are opening this year in prefab's in the grounds of Midleton RFC after the Dep, of Education decided not to provide a school in Midleton this year even thoe they had flagged Midleton as one of the town's in Ireland with the most need for a new school, and it was on this grounds that Educate Together applied to be it's patron. No other patron applied to run the school, but at the last minute the dep, pulled out.

Many schools araound the country are now being offerend prefabs instead of permanent structures as an extention. This is dissapointing to think the government are happy with this. This is a short term fix that has lasted more than ten years in scome schools!

When will the government act upon this?

For new schools such as Midleton ETNS a school will have to start somewhere. Hopefully the gov will look at future enrolements and act accordingly. A good gevernment? Not sure?
