  • Lee Robinson directed these scenes on the sea floor sitting in his directors chair wearing also a dive helmet, this footage may seem dated now but at the time of filming this was extraordinary underwater filming.

    thx so much for posting, never seen this before and so appreciate finally seeing this footage.

  • Whew! I knew that was an awfully deep dive for a helmet without full diving dress! Open helmet diving was supposed to be shallow water ( 30 feet max!). Interesting early aqualung with the regulator on the diver's chest!
