I'm only learning to play bass (I got mine a week or so ago), I chose it over guitar for a few reasons; everyone wants to play guitar, everyone DOES play guitar, so if I got one, big deal...Plus an electric bass is a waaaaaaay more deep, pleasing, handsome sound.

no. get yourself the sacrament's producer's edition and you can clearly hear the bass on a single track. and btw you can hear the bass pretty well out of the whole song. and its wrong.

Yes I know...At the time, when I recorded the song, I only played what the tab said and I didn't know that a track exists where you can hear only the bass.

ya i have the producer edition... and it helps me out on the guitar parts... pieces it ALL apart... every part of that cd, lead guitars, left and right rhythm guitars(they used two guitars for rhythm in the studio, as most bands do) drums, bass, FX, and vocals... which i dont care for much, but its interesting how they use the vocals and layer them to make them sound cooler.
