No Commander Appo was leader of the ENTIRE 501st, Rex was only in charge of a quadrant of it, called Torrent Company. Though most of them got killed in the battle on Teth.

he's part of an Combat Engineers Battalion,

worked with Gree on Kashyyyk but not part of Gree's unit.

And Cody 's part of the third army 'cause your Bacara description was soo complete =)
