@iambac when will children grow up, who f-ing cares if its a slideshow, if you see a slideshow just hit the back button and get on with your life. there is no law against making a video slideshow!

However:

@664FREEDOM yes, but slideshow videos are boring because i can find the same pictures on google images...in fact look at the like/dislike bar of this kind of videos...
@huttins90 I didn`t make the rules on youtube, but this video was made with an educational though on the Truckies of Australia’s road train transport industry, long before they desided in Australia to start their own TV episodes on Road Trains.
ah baggedandblown, you need a HC Heavy Combination to drive a semi truck here in QLD MC to drive with 3 axle trailer and above, MC being the ultimate, and I am a woman driver and love it.
Question,,,,With all those brake chambers,,,do they use the 4 lung air compressors,,I replaced a 4 lunger on a R model once,,what a monster,,,and it had the air starter too,,the 2 old lads in the cab Shit their pants laughing when the driver hit the start button,Man ,that thing Is loud,I almost shit my pants
@MegaRiktane They usually use a Bendix Tuf-Lo 750 compressor instead of 501 like on single trailer trucks. You don't use the brakes much on these big road trains so the air tanks have got plenty of time to recharge.
@baggedandblown Incorrect. You need to have your licence for 1 year before you can apply for your MR licence, then after another year you can apply for your HR licence. My MR licence permits me to drive a truck with a single axle and NO trailers. To drive a Semi (truck plus two trailers) you need a HR licence, to drive a Roadtrain (truck with three trailer) you need a MC licence (multi combination).
@dannichls1 If you can give licencing authorities proof of how long you've been driving trucks WA rules will make you sit a theory test on road rules, then you can get your HC (single trailer) by taking a driving test. You need your HC for 12 months before you can upgrade to MC (2 or more trailers)
Je suppose qu'en certaines zones assez peu peuplées, le road-train est un moyen plus rapide, moins cher et moins polluant, mais ailleurs, cela deviendrait un bouchon gigantesque. Australia? Un pays taillé pour, non?
I've seen a few trucks pulling several cars like that but didn't know they were called Road Trains. That's awesome.
And yes, I am an unnatural chick with a weird fascination for trucks and heavy machinery. I'd love to drive one at least once. With or without the back load.
@MaRaMaTSG The Australian licencing system is fairly straightforward. If you're not an Australian resident, apply for an international driver's licence. This will allow you to drive a car. In a year, you're allowed to apply for your Heavy Rigid licence i.e a truck with no trailers. A year after that, you're allowed to apply for your Heavy Combination (1 trailer) or Multi Combination (2 or more) Rarely a shortage of work in Western Australia
yeah its the great australian dream apart from shooting your boss,to be a pill popping redneck roadhog of a truck driver who always tailgate people and cause over 98% of all fatalities on australian roads because its always the truck drivers fault..Truck drivers take it up the ass.......Gee daddy what did you do for the last 40 years of your life..Aww i sat on my fat ass all day and caused all the accidents son,im a typical truck driver..Gee dad what a legacy
Thanks for sharing. I just like to look at trucks so I'm perfectly happy with your slide show! Pay no attention to the negative yo-yos. My son is an OTR trucker here in the USA.
Only problem was that they weren't all road trains. there were two semis and two b triples which aren't road trains and there was no footage of any working. Otherwise a pretty good clip of pics
i owe my life to these road trains, during my trip from melbourne up to cairns on the inland roads they cleared the road kill instead of trashing my front end and possibly writting off my car. well done guys, you're the backbone of the nation. cheers
How do you connect road trains together? With railroads they use the electricity in the rails to move the cars but they cant do that with roads and trailers.
The only way this could get any more Australian would be some actuall Australian music and a picture of a truckie drinking some Farmers Union Iced Coffee lol.
@Amunication nope we don't have hillbilly music in Australia, just the southern USA. It would have been more appropriate to have Lee Kernigan or Slim Dusty truckin' music. "Lights on the Hill?" ohhhhhhhyeahhhhhhhhh...
@MrIronhide1234 yeah but how long are your "vehicles compared to our 53.5 metre long ROAD TRAINS and they get much much longer in certain parts of oz but you have to obtain permits and shit first most the time, unless ya quick lmao
@MrIronhide1234 The term "road train" is most often used in Australia. In the U.S. and Canada the terms "triples," "turnpike doubles" and "Rocky Mountain doubles" are commonly used for longer combination vehicles (LCVs). A road train consists of a relatively conventional tractor unit, but instead of pulling one trailer or semi-trailer, the road train pulls two or more of them.
The Australian national heavy vehicle speed limit is 100 km/h (62 mph), excepting:
NSW, Queensland and South Australia, where the speed limit for any road train is 90 km/h (56 mph).
In western Canada, LCVs are restricted to 100 km/h (62 mph), or the posted speed limit. Trucks of legal length (<25 metres / 82 feet) may travel at 110 km/h (68 mph), or the posted speed limit.
I just don't know how they do it. These men drive from the wrong side of the cab while they are driving on the wrong side of the road. They are gonna wreck real big.
@Liozeris - You may be joking, but for F#@%'s sake, give the whole "driving on the wrong side of the road" schtick a rest, will you. We are so over it. It's AUSTRALIA, mate, and the left side's the right side, got it?
@NomenLog I know what you mean ( my video was in 2008 a introduction about Worlds biggest Roadtrain) but take a look at my playlist: The Australian Road Trains i'm sure it won't be annoying as well.
@NomenLog Likewise, just because youtube allows you to post comments, doesn't mean you're not annoying. Using Youtube, one expects people to be smart enough to realize they don't have to watch videos they don't like, and then polluting the comment section with "HUURRRR this sucks".
@salemcripple . Strange comment, salemcripple. A "Comments" section is for people to post both positive and negative comments, otherwise if you restrict it you should call it "The Accolades Section." Sad to say, but there are even some uploaders who state at the start that "negative comments will be removed"!!! Well, I suppose that none of us like to be told that we did a bad job with our video, but realistic feedback is necessary to improve the quality of our work. Think about it.
Other types of media — including music (MP3s, etc.), pictures (JPEGs, etc.), and flash files that don't contain a Video stream — can't be processed by our system and will be rejected.
However:

@EpiclyReckless You don't, if get yourself in a situation that requires you to back up, you break up the train, and set them back up. I pull Turnpikes in Canada, 2 53ft trailers, and in Alberta, they are testing pulling 3 53ft trailers between Calgary, and Edmonton.
@Detroit8V92tta I would have to disagree! In Canada we are pulling 2 53FT trailers, and been for a while, lets throw some snow into the mix, and see who might be the hardest working truckers!
@darrenhol Ah yeah..You Canadian truckers are very hard workers too. I do agree that the set-ups you pull are very large, throw snow in to the mix and, yep, thats truckin. Aussie truckers have road trains and frequently work in temperatures above 40 degrees celsius. I think you'd agree, two different types of truckers, in two different extremes. By the way, I love ice road truckers on Foxtel. It would be great if Foxtel did a show called "Oven road truckers" Cheers.
@darrenhol disagree all you want ive met loggers that used to haul trees in canada that have done long haul driving in Australia and said thay couldnt handle the schedules and extremes our truckin industry goes to,aussie tuff baby, aint nothing like it,go on try it ;) haha
@BAwithBALLS There are lots of places you can haul logs in Canada, and each have there different challenges. The guys you were talking to, more than likely, hauled logs in eastern Canada. My Dad hauled logs in British Columbia, which is a whole different thing. Come on up here, and i will take you winter road trucking in Manitoba, or Northern Ontario. An example from Lynn Lake, MB to Tadoule Lake, MB. 335km, across a winter road carved through the bush, and takes you 15hrs one way.
@GrinDosso if its like a normal big rig, and it has 4 wheels per axle not including the front 2 till they are all added it would be a 110 wheeler! lol
@GrinDosso if its like a normal big rig, and it has 4 wheels per axle not including the front 2 till they are all added it would be a 110 wheeler! lol
Some of the best drivers and can't no weigh station here in the US hold one of those MONSTERS. I always loved Road Train since I was a kid and heard of them. Come to think of it I think I saw a road train yesterday well sort of it was a semi pulling two 52" footers in upstate NY.
@scnwpa - It helps that all our mountains (of any consequence) are in the southeast corner of the continent, and the rest is flat to mildly undulating, as you can see in most of these pics.

An example from Lynn Lake, MB to Tadoule Lake, MB. 335km, across a winter road carved through the bush, and takes you 15hrs one way.

@Detroit8V92tta Not really, in Canada we are pulling turnpikes ( 2 53FT trailers ) and they are testing now, pulling 3.
Also lets throw some snow into the mix, and see who is better?

Some of the best drivers and can't no weigh station here in the US hold one of those MONSTERS. I always loved Road Train since I was a kid and heard of them. Come to think of it I think I saw a road train yesterday well sort of it was a semi pulling two 52" footers in upstate NY.

I had to quit driving, got tired of having no life and living in a rolling cubicle.
It would take a week and a half to get from one coast to the other here, climbing the mountains with loads like that.
scnwpa 4 months ago
@scnwpa - It helps that all our mountains (of any consequence) are in the southeast corner of the continent, and the rest is flat to mildly undulating, as you can see in most of these pics.
