This generation Town Car was without any doubt among the most reliable and well built US cars ever.
This Promo makes me laugh though...
Try selling a car in Europe only telling the potential customer that this car gives You prestige, it´s quiet and comfy, got "V8 power" and has ABS brakes (Without telling You what it´s good for).....
Body on frame is not a safety feature in my world....
Also love those for safety matters, non functional headrests (Got them in my -93 Crown Vic as well).
"and an anti-lock braking system is available for stopping power" haha what a joke, ABS has nothing to do with braking power, it's purely an anti-lock measure. Typical American car ad, all spin and no substance.
To hell with these haters i own a 2001& 1995 Towncar both Signature Series. The best car i've ever owned next to a 2003 Sable LS i just brought from a estate sale. Towncars are more famous than most of these high-end mercedes & bmws
this commercial is a shining example of how narrow minded and sexist car commercials were at the time...I know this car was designed for a certain buyer....but come on, golfers, senior citizens, and of course, no women behind the wheel. Women belong in the passengers seat checking their makeup.
i need help i have a 90 tc signuture. the door panels are pretty much falling apart. anyone know where i could buy new ones. towncars are great. 1990 is my fav year
Im 14 and my family has always had a town car since the 60s and i have a 2000 lincoln town car that is the most comfortable ride on the road and you can fit 3 bodies in the trunk
Im gona have to say good bye to my 93 town car cause now i own my grandma's 2000 town car and can't afford both. I did like that car and its even faster than the 2000. I love working on town cars also, they are so easy to fix with everything on the top.
The redesign of 1990 was one of the best of any vehicle...that body style was very attractive, sleek yet classic. Had a white '94 T.C., such a nice ride and one of best vehicles I ever owned.
Funny thing?im only 21!! i just bought my 90 towncar 6 months ago for 500 american, and i know one thing, not only is it comfortable, but it DOES have power... itd be quieter if it didnt rip off the mufflers when i blew the rear air suspension though! gets DECENT gas mileage, and hey.. you can fit 6 dead guys in the trunk... faggheddabboudit!!
what condition is your car? mine is in cherry condition and 1500 is a good deal for where i'm from. who the fuck cares about quietness, i like to hear my car. i want to know if it's running or not.
the funny thing is that i see kids driving these cars now. i just got one not too long ago. it cost me 1500 dollars canadian to buy it (i got it from a friend, blue book value is 4500.)
@JakeDaSnakeFilms I have one... :) and it is one sweet old car!! It has more insulation than the oldre cars and drives quieter, handles real nice, feels much newer with that old reliable 302 EFI that just keeps going and going.
My Dad has a 1990 Cartier Lincoln town car! Still looks good! Its has 86, thousand miles and drives great! He got it from an auction with 66, thousand miles.
They're not kidding. Haha. I have a '92 and its so awesome. People look at my car and they're like "Ehh... cool car...", but then they sit down and go for a ride and instantly say, "THIS IS THE BEST CAR EVER!". It is so comfortable.
I just bought a '94 townncar with 120,000 from the guy down the road for 2300. I need an extra car for my taxi business. I'm so sick of customers over the past 6 months asking me if i have a towncar ! lol Well now i do. Anyone have any suggestions what i should look for regarding this type of vehicle?thanks
power window nylon gears go out, making windows inoperable. Its only a $8 part and if they have never been replaced, prepare to replace them soon. I did all 4 on my 1990 TC
@jerzeebook just wondered how you were making out with this one. The early 4.6's could be a little problematic. I think they were pretty much debugged by 97. But, nonetheless, I think you wil still be enjoying the 4.6. I kept good premium oils in the 94 i had, comparable mileage. It ran out nice, gives you a little more kick in the tail than the 5.0 because of the DOHC wizardry. I now own a 90 with the 5.0 engine.
"Its 5.0 liter V8 engine and 4-speed automatic transmission deliver performance to match Lincoln's style"
I couldn't help laughing at that ...150 hp mated to 4000 lbs of car = dismal performance. I had an '89 with the same powertrain. The OHC 4.6L in '91onward was a much needed improvement.
I had my 1990 town car for 3 years. I had to replace all the seals and gaskets on the engine, the power steering pump, radiator, emission system and rear springs. now it runs like a dream and sound like a truck LOL
The tape was sent 3rd class mail, huh? Well, for 1990, Lincoln just slapped a new skin on 30 yr old technology, so I'm not surprised they cut corners on shipping costs, too, LOL!
Boy she's got her nose way up in the air when she's driving!

I would've bought one if the intake manifold wasn't made out of plastic. So I got me a '93 Fleetwood instead.
Junsku 2 years ago
they didn't have plastic intakes til '96
vargas37 2 years ago
Plastic intakes don't conduct heat, and make for potentially more horsepower.
