  • i am so interested in your glaze recipe

  • rrreallly preeettty :)

  • wow, very cool thank you :)

  • just ordered a bison!

video idea: pitchers, boulbous round forms, lidded bowls/cassorol type stuff

  • intensive graduate school has kept me from spending much time on you tube. But, I'm finally catching up on your videos. Sounds like I need to get me a Bison tool. You should have gotten a free one from doing this video!

  • At the college I attend we have a clear glaze called Georgia Clear, when put over Helios clay and fired in a cone 10 reduction it gives a very very light greenish blue color. That glaze looks awesome over chattering. If you are interested in the recipe contact me.

  • When I was in college we had something that sounded similar called shadow blue. But I do not fire cone 10 anymore. its nice to be in school. Are you a ceramics major

  • I am an elementary education major and I think I'm going to minor in ceramics. I don't know yet, still getting my A.A. degree. I am definitely going to continue with my study in ceramics even after I have graduated. I enjoy it far to much to go any extended period of time without doing it. Besides, I hate selling my stuff, I'd totally starve if I just did ceramics!

  • Hi there,

I would be very interested in a video about glazing such decorations as the chattering decoration, indentations or scratched patterns. What kind of glaze do you use to make the decoration come through ?

Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge !!

    All the best,

    Sibylle

  • Awesome! Regular posts from Tim.

How about making a huge bowl and throwing a separate huge foot ring for it and attaching them.

Really, just keep throwing pots and uploading clips. A joy to watch.

I speak English by the way, but I am a long, long way away. The joys and benefits of the internet age are many. And you are certainly one.

  • Hey Timbo Slice! Good clip. Who's in charge of shipments from Clayscapes? I need to place an order. Are you coming to the Throwathon at Turk Hill Craft?

  • Everyone there but me is in charge of shipping just give em a call, they wont be there till tuesday. Didn't hear about the throwathon. there shall be more videos, see ya later

  • Em said February 20th. The bison site says the trimming tools are like the pots and you don't drop them right? Where's that young whippersnapper with the great throwing skills? I am waiting for him to make some vids.

  • Tim,

Thanks for posting. Great to see you are making videos again. I have a couple Bison tools and LOVE them.

  • thanks a bunch i almost bought a chattering tool ive been wondering how i got it on one of my pots the other day but im glad to see youre uploading again me and my friend were almost starting to cry :)

    zac

  • oh don't be sad there will always be more videos.

  • awesome as always man txs!

  • Tim are you a teacher or do you like to do this for fun? I personally think that you should be doing both. I took ceramics and pottery in senior year of high school in 06 & 07 and loved it. I took ceramics in college this past summer and loved it. I don't know why, but when I work with clay, I feel like I'm in my own little world, you know. do you ever feel that way when you work on pieces?

  • Well I teach potter classes but am trained to be an artist. I do both everyday. Not so much my own world but a small world that I share with the people that see and own my work.

  • well, anyway, your stuff is fantastic.

  • Hey Tim - nice video. Don't forget tho - lots of us are beginners and many times tools accidentally end up on the floor. Bison tools break when dropped and need to be professionally sharpened by the maker - probably not great for us beginners seeing they're so expensive. Nice chatter pot, though!

  • Im not a very safe potter but I have had my bison for a whole year in many places and have yet to come close to dropping it. when you have something that special you take care of it. it has a nest near my wheel i give it worms and it will trim all day. but your right not for new people to clay but for the rest of us it is a nice treat.

  • YAY! new videos. You mentioned chatter pattern, you should call it a chattern.

  • very clever I may do that

  • wow. thats the fastest response I have ever seen. my friends don't even answer the phone that fast. lol

  • Glad to see you making vids again Tim, will talk to you soon.

  • Hey Mr. Shawn did ya get the last email i sent ye? There were questions sir tough questions yeah see yeah. hope things are well all the way over there.

  • Hey Tim thanks - I've been chattering on purpose for a while, but it never occurred to me that you can change the pattern (Doh!) thanks, something new to try!

  • Pretty cool. You have a very distinctive - sorta no fear approach - nice to see

  • very cool

  • Nice Video, It would be interesting to see the glazed result.

    Thanks

    Jack

  • woot a new technique for me to try on monday!
