  • You curiously neglected to mention when Capital is controlled by the corptocracy in an unchecked "free enterprise" system where the special interest of the elite controls & benefits from everything while the middle/working class is screwed, blued & tattooed.

  • Still one of the most valuable lectures on YT.

Great retrospect and analysis about governmental systems I've ever seen.

Couldn't have been broken down better than in this video.

    Greetings from Germany!

  • To bad video stopped working. Great stuff. :(

  • we need to grab the steering wheel of freedom and steer it on to the right road.

  • This is an oversimplification, there is no black and white and if you would apply the clip's line of argument, there would be only one system and that is oligarchy. I can now understand why Americans want to be a part in the tea party movement. Luckily there still is intelligent Americans like Obama and Jacque Fresco.

  • @MrViktor3000 He never says that the only system is an oligarchy, he says ultimately our only options are a republic or an oligarchy. And even then, he never says that democrcy does not exist, only that it will lead to anarchy and ultimately back to an oligarchy. The pendulum swings from one extreme to another, that is why Benjamin Franklin said "A republic ma'am, if you can keep it"

  • People who hate this video for trying to trick us "Americans" are only interested in being a lifeless being who is told what to do by Obama because they don't want to think for themselves or succeed in life. George Washington was against slavery but he didn't have the right to take slaves away from others. The founding fathers did not smoke pot because the discovery of that method was not invented until the 1920s but pot was used for paper and sails because it was very tough. I want to live in

  • These people try to rewrite history and political definitions to suit their political agenda. The John Birch Society main goal is to basically trick the uneducated masses into believing their simplistic propaganda. How ignorant one has to be to believe there are only two economic systems in the world, or the left/right scale "actually" measures the size of government, is beyond me. If you don't know why this video is stupid, you're probably stupid.

  • Precisely because of the immorality of the creation of a war nation rationalized as competitive opportunity and the creation of The American Federal Reserve Bank and the CIA-MI6-NGO human rights military industrial academia corporatist-media complex, competitive self-regulating free enterprise does not exist in the US, abroad, or in reality. Hence, all political and economic systems are one of the same: Oligarchy Republic with monopolistic state-controlled economy.

  • Why do they throw in the smoking of a bong as to demonize it?

The founding fathers were likely to be consumers of the plant, and even the Declaration of Independence was written on hemp paper.

    Long live Liberty!

  • Wait - didn't the founders own slaves? And didn't they subjugate women to lives of domestic servitude? And weren't "religious morals" and biblical text usurped to justify both of those practices?

Nice propaganda. Good luck in returning to a time that never was.

  • @nestletreb You might find the founders' journey to end slavery interesting. Take a look at the book "Miracle at Philadelphia, The Story of the Constitutional Convention, May to September 1787", pages 200-204.

  • @TheJohnBirchSociety They may also want to look into 2 historical books from the 19th century, The Lives of the Signers, and the Wives of the Signers. Interesting to note that in 1776, in New Jersy, women had the right to vote, but since the anti-federalists didn't like the way they did vote, they stripped them of it in the early 1800s.

  • @nestletreb no study the founders yourself although some of the founders did have slaves most of the founders were working to end slavery

  • @nestletreb I agree. Who says you cannot be moral without being religious. I am an atheist and I am more moral than most of you religious people. Nice propaganda indeed.

  • Every historian recognises that Hitler did have virtues, even if they do believe in the Holocaust. He built the first autobahn, designed the Beetle, introduced anti-cruelty to animals laws, reduced unemployment from 6 million to 300,000 in little over 5 years. Instead of closing your mind and removing the 1st Ammendment of those who voice the other perspective, why don't take the time to consider the points he's making. Surely, that is more scientific.

  • Lot of BS

  • American people are Too used to the Slave mentality,,,they wouldn't know what to do with Freedom. Too brainwashed. They can't see the forest through the trees.

    Sad.

  • But what happens when free enterprise allows for the production of useless products and services (e.g. hip-hop music, fashionwear, alcohol, porn etc.)? You can not rely on "morality". It is only through a form of socialism that you can steer a nation to create beneficial technology (i.e. capital), which is why dictators such as Hitler were economic geniuses, as many historians and documentaries admit.

  • @1Nyro "only through a form of socialism that you can steer a nation to create beneficial technology"--Sorry, you're way off here. The good people of Cuba wouldn't agree with you.

  • What began as a Republic in America, became an Oligarchy. This is because if you have a small government with freedom awarded to its people, as fun as it is, they will use that freedom to destroy themselves. You'll be dealing with 7 Deadly Sins because people are inherently hedonistic and power struggles will inevitably occur in a modern society such as ours. This is why I advocate a form of Socialism.

  • @1Nyro An educated electorate that elects candidates that work within the confines of the Constitution can create a Republic that will stand the test of time. But it all hinges on that education of the electorate. Getting into the habit of awarding gifts from the treasury and allowing government to work as a positive force will seriously undermine the Republic, as has happened throughout history.

  • @TheJohnBirchSociety

Perhaps you're right. However, the socialism I refer to is anti-red. It is essentially capitalism controlled, hence the reason why we have such a problem with banks, because if you give me a nation's money supply, I care not who makes its laws. If a Republic is strong enough to maintain the integrity of society, then I will happily accept it. The problems lies within what the documentary described at 4:36 - 5:03.

  • @1Nyro "Integrity of society" is the responsibility of the individual. Everyone has the freedom to do as they please (within the confines of the law), but it is up to the individual to want to improve their lives and set an example for others in his or her circle of influence.

  • One that is educated on the principles of freedom as envisioned in the Declaration of Independence and set forth as structure in the U.S. Constitution has a responsibility to educate others in order to better the next generation and to make the Republic stronger. Sadly, this isn't happening as much as it needs to. And what has happened? Since the creation of the Federal Reserve in 1913, the dollar has lost at least 90 percent of its value, something that the Fed is supposed to guard against.

  • Money is no longer tied to anything solid, merely the promises of politicians, of which are just as inflated as the money supply! We have lots of work to do to get this country back on track to prosperity. Historically, a Republic has shown to be the answer. We need to get back to that.

  • @TheJohnBirchSociety

I don't think integrity is up to the individual, but their genes and their cultural upbringing, which is where the socialising of the people comes in. For example, if you gear society to produce technological innovation (e.g. through grants, schemes, schooling etc.), then you will receive it. I recently read an article by Dyson who criticised a large number of children for not wanting to "invent" because, in the case of girls, they want to become fashion models.

  • @1Nyro Forcing someone into producing something will not produce anything of quality ... think automobiles built under Communist regimes. The best scenario is a free people that have a drive to better themselves and their families in a free market. Out of this environment will come tech innovation, quality products and an elevated quality of living. These are things that cannot be forced.

  • @TheJohnBirchSociety

That is completely incorrect. I'm not talking about forcing anyone to do anything. I'm talking about giving people the encouragement to produce the only measure of intelligence; technology. War has been the biggest proponent of technological innovation because of the socialist, or even communist, command that governmental institutions acquire. The discrepancy lies within the positivity of their control.

  • @1Nyro The best way to encourage anyone to do anything is to get out of their way and let them do it. The free market has hoisted up the standard of living for all when government stands down. Then technology, indeed all industries, will flourish.

  • @TheJohnBirchSociety

It can only work to an extent. Just take a look at what that did to your pharmaceutical industry. Only a socialist government could steer away such money-orientated lifestyles that produce a conflict of interest. The socialism I am talking about is essentially capitalism controlled, without the element of Communism.

  • @1Nyro Socialism in an individual-based, free society will never work. It soon exhausts and murders itself, as our founders have written extensively upon. Socialism takes control of those who are producing and those who are receiving the government dole. This arrangement leads to the producer producing less and less and those on the dole to increase many fold with no incentive to better one's life. History has borne this out again and again.

  • @TheJohnBirchSociety

National Socialism in Germany produced a thriving economy as historians documented. That is until the war was brought upon Hitler.

  • @necrosny If you're here to defend Hitler, you're preaching to the wrong crowd. History has shown what Hitler and his death camps have done. Stealing from one to give to another does not produce a thriving economy and killing millions of people to further a socialist and dictatorial agenda is inexcusable.

  • @TheJohnBirchSociety

That's what they teach you in school. But here's what they don't tell you about the "Holocaust" and Hitler: watch?v=oo16uWyQhhs

  • @necrosny Holocaust deniers are not welcome here. You just got yourself banned.

  • Comment removed

  • @1Nyro Anyone espousing the virtues of Hitler and offering links to Holocaust denial videos are not welcome here.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheJohnBirchSociety

Also, the deniers you refer to are not "deniers". I have spoken with a handful of them, some very prominent, and they do not deny the possibility of anything occuring. Rather, they are revisionists because they are reinvestigating history amidst all the wartime propaganda still ongoing . Or do you not allow people to question history?

  • @1Nyro Maybe it has something to do with the fact that Germany does not want to ahve people rewrite there history just so they can have the Nazis take over again. Why Go you think German law forbids the production of pro-Nazi materials. Why do you think they go out of there way to make sure it is tought that what Hitler was wrong. Because they do not want to go back to that. But yes go on defending the deniers or the revisionists. I call them Neo Nazi sucm bags.

  • @Epica124

Or maybe it has something to do with the fact that "history is written by the victors" (Churchill). Zionism and the Allied Forces took control of Germany after defeating National Socialism. Therefore, to maintain the establishment of Israel, you may not question the Holocaust and must continue believing as you're told with the preconceived Hollywood-esque notion of "Nazis". I watched that documentary ("Judea Declares War on Germany") and listened to both sides of the story.

  • @TheJohnBirchSociety

You clearly know little about Hitler. He was virtuous, however the Holocaust did happen.

  • @1Nyro Good afternoon Nyro. I hope you are well. The pharmaceutical industry is a perfect example of a capitalist profit-driven market. Aside from the regulatory side of the industry that insures the safety and efficacy of drugs, the manufacture, research and marketing of drugs is purely profit driven. With the socialism model, prices are lowered and profits are reduced. Without adequate profit, research is reduced, and the invention of life-saving drugs is inhibited.

  • @mark0454

Do not confuse socialism with communism. Socialism is simply controlled capitalism and communism is the elimination of capitalism.

  • @1Nyro "Do not confuse socialism with communism. Socialism" Sir, if I did, they would take back my economics degree from the university. Great Brittain and most of Europe is highly socialistic, and the US is following fast on its footsteps.

I think my point from past posts is that profit is the fuel of enterprise, invention and innovation. Over regulation (sodialism) greatly reduces profits and stifles prouctivity.

  • @1Nyro Cont. I am an old guy. I remember a plethora of fatal childhood illnesses that are of no consequense now, mothers dying in childbirth and a cancer diagnosis meant death. What has brought us the medical marvels that have put these diseases in the history books? Profit, and lots of it. Profit breeds a proliferation of innovation. Competitive markets check excessive profits.

  • @TheJohnBirchSociety

    Either way, vote Ron Paul.

  • @1Nyro why pick on hip hop? mainstream rap and hip hop culture are two very different things. you don't know what you are talking about. also, it has been shown that people that use alcohol moderately on average live longer than people who don't use it at all. i'm glad you're not in charge.

  • @unciase1

I pick on hip hop because it is at the forefront of glorifying sex, materialism, drugs and violence. Don't make me list examples of lyrics and videos.

  • @1Nyro again you're confusing mainstream rap with hip hop culture. they are two very different things. REAL hip hop culture is about peace, love, unity, having fun, knowledge wisdom and understanding, freedom justice and equality, overcoming the negative, science, mathematics, the wonders of God, knowledge of self, and knowledge of others (loosely paraphrased from afrika baambaata). if a rapper is glorifying sex, materialism, drugs, and violence, he/she is NOT representing hip hop culture!!!!!!!

  • Over simplified and Anti Socialistic but i liked the historic linkage and the description of the political and economic spectrum

  • wow this is really oversimplified to the point of becoming misinformation. I hope everybody actually reads up on these topics and dosnt rely on this video.

the characterization of fascism was explained as per its definition, however,

Marx argued that there should be NO government and the ussr is not an example of Marxism, its fascism. (the abridged versions of marx' books aren't too long if you want to pick one up)

socialism is a broad subject, and dosnt even have a well excepted definition.

  • @aSheeple Agreed. The video is an interesting reference point into the Conservative mindset & philosophy. There is something quaint - almost charming - about it, but so much of the video is based more on myth than actual history.

And its view of politics is so oversimplified that it borders on on propaganda.

This is why I have trouble with Conservatives, they seem to want to exist in an alternate reality and denounce others who bring that view into question. I don't get it.

  • @aSheeple The Communist Manifesto was written by Karl Marx! Or have you forgotten THAT too along with the contents?

He writes that communism can be summed up simply as the abolition of all private property. Meaning all property would be owned by the state. Now, would you please explain to me how that objective can be accomplished without the force of total government?

Where has our common sense and knowledge of history gone?

Socialism is simply a system of legal plunder. See Frederic Bastiat.

  • @nalejbank wow this is bringing back an old post, but yes I remember that Marx wrote the communist manifesto. my point was Marx thought there should be a network of councils that have essentially no hierarchy, rather than having a centralized power.

he thought the use of political force would be necessary to achieve that social structure, unfortunately the only times thats been tried, the process was derailed before it got to the decentralization phase.

  • simple = no stealing.cheating, lying,no traitors.that was the native american way before corruption.if you meet someone from another clan your word was as good as gold stories told etc.

  • poltical discussions please where did religion jump in to this?

  • @redguy4 Yeah. I think that will only make things worse.

  • Trippy.

  • great video series, I would say that maryjane needs to be legalized tho.. it is an amazing medicinal plant and much safer to wind down with than alcohol.. also, as stated below me by jarden69, morality is attainable without follow a religion.. and I believe that our forefathers knew this as well.. :)

  • "Virtuous People" is NOT the same thing as "Religious People."

Religion doesn't have a Monopoly on Morality.

Holding to Ethics and leading a virtuous life is how the Ancient Greeks lived, and other societies throughout history.

So diespel this notion right now that America MUST get back to Religion in order to be Moral, because that is a specious argument.

Teach Ethics, Virtue, Morality, and Integrity to our young people.

  • I agree with you! :)

choosing religion is one thing, acting as tho it is the way to morality is quite another..

I believe in creator in the sense of spirituality, however, I do not feel that "god" is the reason I choose to behave a certain way.. I choose to behave in love and kindness because this is what I feel is right action and leads me to peace, good health, and prosperity. also, by doing so I notice it puts positive energy into the world and this is good for all.

    peace~

  • Thanks...we're on the same page.

    Peace

  • All this doesn't make sense. How do you explain, China is more Capitalist than the USA? And very successfully.

  • watch it again.. do some research maybe too?

    best wishes~

  • GREAT EDUCATING-of politics & Power. Most don't know the definitions & they certainly don't recognize nuances because we're all in a precarious position-right NOW. Learn. Stop the New World Order closing us in-every day new Govt Acts enforced.'Admiralty Law' -USA is a MILITARY State-right now! In NZ freedom of speech is against the Law-& still PEOPLE DON'T KNOW! -sneaky govts just have to EXCERCISE that power & WITHIN DAYS They can INCARCERATE a million peolpe-ITS HAPPENING now-eg "Detainees"!

  • when you make complicated things simple you run the danger of overseeing many aspects and interpreting the reality to fit your agenda. This is a good material to get people thinking. It can't be considered a teaching tool in itself. People, chew your own food, don't just eat what others have chewed for you.

And have in mind this: we live in a very dynamic world and being a fundamentalist doesn't work anymore. We have to know how to adapt in order to maintain the title of a great nation. Grow!!

  • Nicely said

  • yes!

  • Great documentary!

  • American is crying...hear her call

  • Thank You for all the videos!

They are so well made and it's very refreshing for me to get all this information from yet another source. John McManus really knows how to put these complicated issues into simple and plain terms without being simplistic.

    Freedom & Peace

  • Where I find fault is this:

It is the idea that morals are edicts dispensed by an oligarchy, according to the unlimited rule of those men, that the church should control or own the nation's intellectual capital with all moral activity directed from their central power and that freedom is inconsequential, and that security is preferred over freedom and reason.

I find it incongruous that those who would defend economic freedom are so willing to use government to impose intellectual slavery.

  • As an individual in the republic of Texas, I wish all of you U.S. Citizens good luck with your corporate government. Please get it out of our nation however. Your corporations are harrassing out sovereigns.

  • When Texas secedes I'm moving dowwn there to be with y'all.

  • I'm ready to move to Texas as well!

  • I'm in too

  • We are a republic, lets embrace it and keep it. Stomp out socialism and anything else that would hinder us as a great nation.

  • "Let it not be said that no one cared - that no one objected - once it is realized that our liberties and wealth are in jeopardy" - Honorable Congressman Ron Paul

  • I would hope all Americans would embrace a Republic.

  • We are way off course. We've been heading in the opposite direction for quite some time.

  • Many Americans really do think that Moral doesnt matter in Freedom, because a lot of them would talk crap to other country and offend others without thinking about what they say first, or being racist towards other nations, that to me is a very Dangerious American Attitude that one day will bring this country to its Knees. And that is coming from me who is not a westerner, i advise western people to change this attitude

  • that argument so petty compared to the bigger picture of things.

  • a few do not speak for the majority..

I would like to apologize to you for somebody being unkind to you..

  • lest we not forget, what our american forefathers did for us

  • it seems these birchers practice the religion of americanism

  • Those who would sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither. - Ben Franklin

  • "Let it not be said that no one cared - that no one objected - once it is realized that our liberties and wealth are in jeopardy" - Honorable Congressman Ron Paul

  • are leaders want a one world government period. but before that they have to take away the wepons from the citizens which they will try thru martial law.

  • You should have added Theocracy which is what you want.

  • Awesome video! A truly brilliant rendition of this great country's foundations and a brief but highly informative overview of world political and economic systems. A must see.

God bless America, and Merry Christmas folks!

  • A terrific summary of the true foundations of the United States. A truly non-partisan view of the world of politics as it truly exists. A must see for all freedom-loving Americans

  • I have to say i can agree with most of this series though i thought the shot of the dude hitting the bong was not needed. Wtf does that have to do with anything. Lots of people would benifit from a puff or two of the burning bush.

  • Yeah, the guy hitting the bong was exercising his freedom, and had nothing to do with the chaotic brutality in the adjacent scenes.

  • exactly.

  • I'd say that and the porn site clip had more to do with the 'morality' derived from the bible. But perhaps we need a more modern approach with the same basic moral principles.

One point stands clear though...this country is ruled by a group that has exceeded its bounds because at some point they felt we needed masters, whether it be for profit or by virtue of protection of the moral from the immoral, a situation that can be debated on is how that situation was created.

  • I have to say i think its abundantly clear that our "leaders" arent exceeding their bounds out of love or virtue of protection. Exceeding your bounds out of love would not cause someone to blow up 2 sky scappers to start a war. Ya know? They wouldnt have waited umpteen days to send aid to katrina victims if they were righteous. I dont know about you guys, but i dont have nor do i need a master. At the end of the game you only have to answer to yourself.

  • I can see the Katrina thing, but I'm just leaving the field open on the rest of that, although the 9/11 debate is very compelling, and obviously more then meets the eye.

Besides, I meant at the start of the change from republic to democracy, not currently. :)

  • theblackout27 - In theory giant international Corporations get much of their power and money from exploiting communities in developing nations. A boycott on those companies and imported products would reduce the power we give the Corporatocracy. In theory. As a bonus, buying locally can help your personal community by creating jobs and supporting small companies.

  • This video is excellent! We the People need to realize that our counrty is turning more into an oligarchy with each generation...How can we reverse this?

  • Shop for local foods and goods, buy American made products. Boycott Large corporations. You can start with Wal Mart. Find alternative sources of news, keep the internet unregulated.

  • How does buying American reverse anything?

  • corporate farming is bad too.. support local farms by joining a CSA! :)

a CSA will get you food fresh and the cost is likely less than shopping at the store. take your time in joining the CSA, go to the farm and meet the people.. you won't be disappointed..

stop buying things you don't need too, and like shawntbell says buy local! :)

  • morality is important

  • where do protection for people fit in this free market?

  • Love the video, but I do not believe that using marajuana is immoral.

  • it is immoral, but you can smoke all you want, I would support legalization of pot. You have your rights, just use it responsibly.

  • how is it immoral?

  • AWESOME video!

  • This brought me to tears..

  • This series was informative and made good sense. I see a problem with linking Religion to Morality. Also, A citizen can partake in Porn and bongs (as the video shows) and not tread on others rights. Lastly, this video fails to mention Ethics, possibly an even higher standard than morals.

  • I Felt it was a contradiction from what the video stated earlier about given the right to be left alone while not to the point to see porn (or any other activity) because of morality which normally before finding this video was preached as being against this sort of thing.

Sorry if I may this confusing at any point.

  • The fundamental purpose of government is to be abolished when it makes men moral enough to be self governing. Anarchy is the goal of government so that individuals can see morality through the light of God without force.

Now, how to go about that is ambiguous. However, I support the John Birch Society wholeheartedly.

  • The aspects of these four videos that explained politics, economics and government were mostly correct, although I think the political spectrum explanation was a bit misleading.

The common mistake made in this video was the assumption that religion IS morality. All religions more or less share the same common moral principles but no religion is needed to be moral.

Mixing religion and government has always resulted in less liberty. Our founders knew this. Read our first amendment.

  • "How would people survive without government support and protection?"

"Like free men, like free men."

  • All one has to understand here is absolute truth. Where/What is absolute truth? That can only be found in our Creator or God. We diffidently know man's definition all depends on who you ask or relativism of that democracy.

  • great series!

rbassini, and other "non-religous" persons (if that is in fact possible) your difference of opinion does not mean you have found a "resounding flaw".

The truth is there is no basis for morality without religion, specifically the Christian religion as revealed by the true God, the creator, in the Bible.

Histories Oligarchical tyrrany's were not Christian, any more than Bush's administration is. Maybe there lies the reason for your confusion, and I can't say that I blame you.

  • there is no way to know that the god of the bible is the "true god". that is what you were taught but that doesn't mean it is the truth, or the ONLY truth..

in my estimate, most people that follow religion are messed up on many levels, to me this is sad.

with that said, I believe there is a creator, however, I feel it would be arrogant to think I know better than another human being in any matter because each of us must come into our own understanding as we grow in this life..

    peace~

  • Great overview, with only one resounding flaw: the assumption that religion is the only source of morality. History abounds with "oligarchical" religious tyrannies... a mistake made by the founding fathers? They made others, and we can correct it and build on the brilliant foundation the left for us.

  • Excellent, concise explanation of our form of government, except it's too 'god-dy'. The narrator stresses the religious aspects of our moral system when it's really much more based on humanist ideas, such as the writings of Paine, Adams, Jefferson, Spinoza, etc. These writers seemed to see religion for what it is: a set of fables which make it easier to explain to the average person how to behave toward each other in order to be able to function as a society.

  • They should show this in school!

  • I believe this also gives us the freedom to not practice any religion at all. It's damn near impossible to have a society without the problems of drugs, violence and crime. Maybe if take care of some of the poverty, it would go down, but I doubt it could be eradicated completely.

  • I do, however, consider myself to be a moral person. I know the difference between right and wrong, and more often than not, I will chose to do the right thing even if it is harder. I wasn't raised religious at all, have never really studied any of the religions, was never brought to church ect. I'm not saying that religion in itself is bad. I think that like any institution it can become corrupted. One of the principles this contry was founded on is freedom of religion.

  • great vids, very informative. I could do without the religious part at the end too... I just don't always equate religion with morality. If we look through history and even up to today, some of the atrocities acted out in the name of God or religion. I wouldn't consider child molestation, various faith systems demanding money of followers, homophobia, or killing people in the name of God to be moral acts...

  • I am an Atheist. Even though this video seems to exclude me from living in a free society, I support this message with all my heart.

  • So, how was the universe created?

  • the most recent theory for the universe is M Theory which basically states are universe is one of many universe that exist in hyper space when 2 of these universes collide a big bang is created as a result leading to our current universe. Other theories suggest that the universe was once the size of a subatomic particle at that it was incredibility hot and dense and harnessed all 4 of the universes forces into 1 place until it hyper inflated and created the universe.

  • I am not sure. Enlighten me.

  • I reject the notion of equating morality with what we put in our bodies (the bong scene). To do so, we would have to also include every other substance that alters our physical and/or mental state in any way; coffee, alcohol, cigars, anti-depressants, etc. The question of immorality is not in the partaking of the substance, it is in the conduct of the person. Just because something is illegal does not make it immoral, and the opposite also holds true.

  • well said. i wonder how many "mothers against drunk drivers" go home and pop a few valium or other prescription drugs at the end of the day? or a glass of wine, a smoke or a cup of coffee? all while standing on their artificial soap box of morality. it is not the alcohol that is the problem, but rather the actions of the person. these people then blame alcohol or drugs to escape personal responsibility.

  • Bravo! 5/5

    God Bless America

  • what's this about morality, do we really need it? And isn't it possible for a Oligarchy to implement a free market?

  • If a society is concerned about blind justice where the same law is applied evenly across the spectrum then a easy to understand widely agreed upon just and practical code of conduct or "moral" code is an absolute necessity as well as a jury of peers should control the verdict and validity of law. Tell me do you find the teaching of moral reliativity and multicultural anything goes & everything applies amenable to the social justice application of State determined justice by power and privilege

  • Wow, very good- this should be a template for many media projects to come.

  • Excellent!

    Love the JBS!!!!

  • very good series!

  • That was a good series.

  • Change =)

  • I did not enjoy the religious overtones nearing the end; I'm atheist, and I'm quite proud of my own self-set moral standards. Okay -- sure, I'm a polygamist, a furry, and I have some taboo sexual kinks (nothing extreme, I swear), I always do my best to be an upstanding citizen. If I see someone drop a $20 bill, I'll pick it up and return it to them. I work at a convenience store, and I constantly correct the change people give me, returning the proper amount, etc.

    Otherwise, A+ film all around.

  • Well the founding fathers recognized the importance of religion in teaching morality. I don't think that should be offensive to anyone.

While Religion is not required for morality to exist. One cannot argue the connection as you go further back into history.

Perhaps everyone will be atheist and moral someday. But that day is not here yet. So while you are in the minority, it's not unreasonable to respect the majority of years gone by. Ideas are not perfect and can sometimes take a long time to

  • Very good point.

  • If you are truly an atheist why do you feel the need to justify yourself? If there is no God what does it matter?

  • What, justify myself morally? Because I think it's better for society as a whole if we don't kill eachother or take one another's rights..

But, it's a reflexive thing to justify myself to religious folk, mostly. I live in a community that is heavily Christian, and whenever anyone asks me if I'm going to church, I say no.

Then some of them ask why not, and I say I'm godless. Most will shrug and move on, but some will give me the evil eye, thinking I'm going to murder their children.

  • Who told you it's not right if we murder and steal? I think it's funny that you say your Godless in one breath and then use an inner moral compass with the other. Where does the moral compass come from?

  • Any Christian who passes judgement on someone for not being a Christian is not a real Christian and they don't understand Christianity or represent it.

  • Tell that to.. almost every Christian I know. Please. :/

  • I'm sorry if that has been your experience, or that of many others. What benthemanlyman says IS true. Many people on both sides, however, frequently misinterpret this truth.

Therefore don't come to conclusions based on the imperfection of man but the perfection of God for we will always dissapoint each other when we do.

    :)

  • Eh, my only problem is that I wish people would keep their religion to themselves. Otherwise, you can worship space aliens for all I care.

  • Sure, it depends on what you mean to keep their religion to themselves though. It's one thing to impose and it's a whole other different thing to express. The first infringes one a person's liberty, the second is a byproduct of freedom of expression and religion. Unfortunately expression is often mistakenly interpreted as imposition. Too bad this is too complex a subject to discuss via comments.

    Vinzaf, all the best.

  • Yay for a 500 character limit! ...

But yeah. The problem is that when people express their opinions, they oftentimes get so offended when other people criticize it. Many people will claim bigotry, and refuse to debate their position, turning it into imposition.

Lots of people aren't like this, however; but when you send your opinion into the public idea market, expect to get burned, is what I say to religious people.

    Cheers!

  • I'm agnostic and I feel I have highly respectable moral standards. Better than a number of self-titled Christians I know. While I realize the difference between being atheist and agnostic, I don't feel atheism should by any means imply immorality or somehow hint that atheists are oblivious to the fact that violent and petty crimes are wrong. Jesus wasn't the only person in history to realize treating others the way you want to be treated is a great way to go through life.

  • "Jesus wasn't the only person in history to realize treating others the way you want to be treated is a great way to go through life."

    agreed.. :)

  • Revolution seems to be the solution, but will not happen ubtil it get worse sad to say

  • Competition sounds nice if you IGNORE that people under such system are born with different ressources and most of them dont even have passability to participate in this Competition. Basicly rich will get richer... witch will lead to an old good slavery.

  • As opposed to communism where everyone is born without resouces, there is no competition, the state remains rich and the masses remain poor, and everyone is automatically a slave from birth.

  • How is it that people can come here from other countries, not even speak our language, and work hard and succeed? This is the land or opportunity. If you are here to sponge off the government -you will only be able to do that until people rise up. The welfare state is a disaster.

  • do you think it is possible that if the original system had not been corrupted in the first place that it would not be a SUPER RICH issue? the super rich got that way because of the corrupt system methinks..

    peace~

  • It was informative to a certain extent. They didnt show the downsides to free market or republics at all to give an unbiased view. Also, the bit about morality and needing to be religious is not right. Its as simple as the golden rule and I didnt learn that from religion. Also, you dont have to be religious to be a fair, caring person just like religious people are not all caring and fair. Individuals will be the true judge of their own character not the institutions they belong to.

    peace all

  • Yep, see, all you idiots think Free trade is good, so lay off all the American workers and send those jobs to China or India, Wal-Mart style. Most Americans will have to be unemployed or working for $1.00 an hour under toxic chemicals and hazardous environments like they do in China and India where they don't have EPA, FDA, or any other regulations on working environments just to keep up with the global competition from China or India.

  • when my father and I were watching news during the time clinton was to sign the nafta agreement we knew it was the end of the middle class and the end of good paying manufacturing jobs it saddened me because the american people had no say in this decision.

  • Thats because he and most in our gvy are working for elite instead of the American people. They have sold us out and when hitlery wins i wonder what else are they going to do to skrew us over. These people or shall i say sheeple keep voting for the same azzholes.

  • There is more information in this few minutes of video than in most College civics textbooks. This four part series should be watched by everyone, 3 or 4 times, especially by all those Ron Paul supporters (I am one, naturally). Win, lose or draw, the legacy of Ron Paul should be an electorate that is vastly more informed than before, and this 4-part series is one of the best ways of creating that legacy for the future. Recommend this to ALL of your Ron Paul supporter friends and associates.

  • We dont need to contact Fox this revolution will not be televised we will march till the end even after elections. God be with us...

    Ron Paul 08!

  • You can believe morality is important to a free society all you want, but when you start legislating morality and going beyond the government's traditional ceremonial deism you'll lose the support of many who would be with you completely otherwise. Religion is not a unifying theme like freedom is.

Voting Ron Paul in the primaries, volunteering to be his delegate and following through in the general election will bring us a long way back to this.

  • Excellent! This should be mandatory viewing in our public school system, instead of "sex education, diversity training, 2 mommies or 2 daddies, or a host of other garbage that our children are exposed to".

  • the revolution is now, RP in'08!

  • There are a few families that control this entire USA, Inc., both in the states and abroad.

Rockefellers, morgans, rothschilds, etc., are all dirty rotten scoundrels, to put it lightly. They are associated with UN, IMF, NAFTA and every organization that "seemingly" is good.
