I think the first verse he is cremating his dead wife/lover and planning on going after the man who killed her. He catches that man in the third verse. The second verse is something that happened along the way. That's what I think happened anyway.

The last verse is the scariest. It implies that God drove him to commit all of these murders.
So, is this song about three separate incidents, or is it about a man on a quest for vengeance?.
