Dietrcih Bahnhoeffer was a Lutheran Martyr who fought against Hitler ended up in a concentration camp and killed just days before the camp's liberation. Hitler was not Christian. Hitler promoted Atheism, Evolution, Eugenics, and the Genocide of human beings.

War is generally caused by people who want someone else's stuff and decide to justify violent theft by broadly selling the concept that the people with the desired pile of "stuff" are different and not deserving of respect. The problem with organized religion is that it also generally revolves around the concept of dividing people in this way. Patriotism is abused in this way too. It's sad how two noble human conditions (spirituality and love of home & family) are used to cause such suffering.
