  • frès jolie et belle danseuse......beau travail!

  • Just curious, I know there's many dancing styles to Burmese dance and I wanted to hire one for my wedding. I like this specific dance, does anyone know what's it's called by any chance? thanks!

  • oh shes realy cute. Thats why i love youtube. Different cultures new views of our great world!

  • In fact she danced very well following all the regulations. I am very impressed by the girl who live outside Burma and dance this. Love you so much for performing this.

  • I was doing a lot of burmese vipassana at home and I had this strange dream of 3 burmese maiden dancers explaining life and the dhamma thorough movement and ritual hand-gestures. Strange how a meditation practice can bring other parts of the culture in through dreams.

  • Brilliant!!!!

  • This kind of dance is certainly not easy and needs a lot of practice. You are good and I loved watching you. Keep going !

  • great sinmway

  • I don't know enough about Burmese dance to say if she's good or bad, but do you critics think it would be better if she just threw away all Burmese traditions & did street dancing instead? Would that make you happy?

I think it's great that she's trying to do the traditional dance, and I think she is graceful and moves nicely.

  • I appreciate the Burmese basic dance of the girl because she preserves Burmese traditional outside Burma. We can teach it to our children abroad by viewing it. Go on girl!

  • I think she did great for someone who was raise in US. She neverclaimed tobea pro so what it'snot perfect. No one is. If you people want to talk about disgrace go talk to the wannabes like SaiSai Kham Lang or phyu Phyu Kyaw Thein not to someone who is trying her best to perform her traditional dance.

Shame on all the people who are talking down on this girl. You people are the disgrace of Burma.

  • I love the performance and mindset of the performer.

  • Ka-Byar-Luut

  • oh, God. so cool!!

  • i like to know all the moves in this dance...i used to learn from professional dancer when i was a kid...but i forgot...can anyone tell me the site where i can find all the moves?

  • Thanks for sharing. Nice dance.

  • Burmese dance is very beautiful. They have the culture which is difference. I think they are proud of their culture and history. A lot of love, from Thai man

  • she's pretty good at controlling the hands but her body movement needs a bit practising! Go Girl!!!

  • give her a break everyone. when we are abroad, we gather around in what ever community of ours is around and organize or participate with whoever volunteers. we are not dance professionals but just taking pride in being ourselves.

Phyuhninn should have the grace to appreciate what she is representing. and cursednicorobin is probably an american who had taken everything for granted for what America has to offer and never been exposed to other cultures to understand or let alone, appreciate.

  • She is a beautiful burmese girl growing up in the US, who is trying to preserve and propagate burmese tradition and culture. I like the way she dances. She probably taught herself these moves by watching videos. Maybe it's not professionally perfect but I can tell she is burmese from the way she moves. It's in her blood!

  • And you think you can dance better than her to criticise someone who's simply doing her best? Show me a video of you dancing this kabyar lwot before you open your mouth!

  • just like you dont have to know how to play basketball in order to be a coach of a NBA team, you dont have to dance well to criticize someone of their dance. is this logical to you?

i cant dance but i know that this dance sucks

  • You must consider yourself quite superior to criticise other's people work then. This girl never claimed to be a professional. She's probably spent a few evenings practicising this dance so she could perform for a Burmese Thingyan festival.

The face that you have to go around making someone feel means you must lead a very sad life. Man, I feel sorry for you. Get a life, woman!!

I've seen your so-called 'teacher' dancing on your videos and she can't even keep in beat with the bloody music!

  • @phyuhninn she is just simply trying her best.. if you want to complain about disgrace go talk to Sai Sai Kham Lai or Phyu Phyu Kyaw Thein

  • oh i know you mean ur the dumbass hahahaha bitch

  • i don't like to watch burmese Dance is soooooo boring .

  • dude..i love her hands..like u know..her hands are looking good for the dance..but she's off in some of the parts! hey girl..not trying to be like..a master or something..but..u better keep on ur beat . ur legs need to be down/touch the floor when the beat go "tout" ..n ur feet goes up when the beat go "chwin"!! just keep on that!:D

  • lol...this is the pure burmese dance n music lah....

the BASIC of all the dance moves...and the music is created for these basic....

may be ur wife dun know it ....ha ha

  • very nice!! you dance very well..

reminded me of my little sister when she was about 8 years old and started taking lessons back in Yangon. She was taught by TwenThay Thein Than's eldest daughter (forgot her name). She had to practice this dance for so long before she could learn other dances and that drum beat stuck in my head forever.

tat, bay doe bay, tat, bay doe bay..byin byin tat byin, tat byin.. LOL

  • This is Burmese dance. When I saw this on youtube, I was very surprised. When I read the compliments, I was very shocked. I am new to the dance, and it was my first performance. I hope it turned out well. Thank you for the support. :)

yes, I am the girl who was dancing.

  • Hey, so now you're famous! :-D

  • @ilovecaptain -- no one goes up on stage to do horribly. Every one starts somewhere, no matter what race/ethnicity they are. Keep it up. :)

  • @ilovecaptain you did good!! And are you not Burmese..??

  • @ilovecaptain

    I love your dance...so beautiful...keep on going....

I just saw it today and where can I see more of your dancing?

    Nice dance!

  • it is,

in high school of YGN, teachers just teach students directly to other types of dances directly for the shows

that's why shows are not really perfect

if u really wanna dance in depth, u need to learn the four stages of "Kabyar Loot" first.

this is the very first basic stage.

She is just good but i m glad that i can grab the kabya loot music again from youtube so that i can dance back on my own.

    Thanks a lot!

  • Yes, I agree. This dance is the first stage of learning to dance, like learning to play the scales on a piano.

It teaches all the fundamental movements of legs, arms, wrists, head, turns, steps, etc. as well as to develop dexterity and strength in the dancer's body.

I studied xylophone when I was a kid at Rangoon Academy of Music & Dance & I've seen young girls learing this very same dance.

It usually takes several months just to master this one dance & in my opinion, she did really well.

  • This is not a real Burmese dance.

  • Who told you this is not real!

  • My wife told me this. She is Shan and lived in Burma and went to school in Rangoon and Maymyo before leaving in the 60s...

  • If this is not Burmese dance, whose dance is it! I am from Shan too. I am 100% sure it's Burmese Dance, and just the music is probably Shan music.
