Near the end of the video there were a few guys with moptops (grown out, unstyled hair) who looked like they didn't belong. At this point wouldn't they have already had their hair shaved off? Is this just grown out during training and not trimmed? Do you have the option to stay trimmed during training so you don't look like... that? Just curious...
fuck man that dude is waiting for somebody to fuck up. I bet he prays this prayer Please let one of these mother fuckers step out of line so I can break there little fucking necks! Wooh man got to love it.
looks like got DRILLLLL.. until... must put on 'invinsible ear plug'. Goodness.. i'll better continue dreaming to become a 'silent & quiet' Sniper better. Crouch in the silence of nature and only waiting to .......pew! pew!
My Marine son recently finished IMGLC , AND HE SAID NOW SOME OF THE NEWER NCO'S ARE TELLING THEM THEY CANT EVEN USE THE WORD " BOOT " @ THE BOOTS ENTERING THE FLEET...BECAUSE IT MAY OFFEND THEM ! SDI SSGT NICHOLS IS THERE STILL HOPE LEFT ? ARE THERE ENOUGH TRUE MARINES TO STOP THIS PANSIFYING OF THE USMC ?
"officers" you mean politicians and softies that look at their pay scales.... The only officers I ever read about that are MEN are the guys who charged bunkers at Iwo or held hills in Vietnam
@danthman114 You are correct, we only make Marines at PISC, San Diego and lets not forget Quantico, however few Marines are aware that the Navy has used Marine Drill Instructors since 1947 to train their Navy officer candidates. Upon graduation they are commissioned Ensigns unless they were a NAVCAD (Naval Cadet) at which time they needed to complete all their flight training as a pilot before being commissioned. It was a program for those without a degree. Program was killed around 1990.
All of you people who think this will be fun are those same people who join the Marines then end up hating it. Trust me, this is not fun. Unless you like be exhausted, having zero freedom, being always wrong, and worst of all...your fellow candidates/recruits will be stressed and bitchy 24/7 making them worse to be around than the actually Instructor. Entry level training is simply there to see if you can put up with the bullshit.
@NightmarBlogTime There are usually anywhere from 4 to 8 DI's in the OCS Chow Hall, except for the first few days of a new class, where the Class Drill Instructor has sole possession of the deck.
@NightmarBlogTime The magic of Marine DI's at Navy OCS is that only one DI is assigned per class but all DI's have permission to correct and discipline as many candidates from any class as they want. So, in theory you have several DI's waiting for you to screwup and receive some corrective discipline.
whoa that brings back memories... i'm going to have nightmares tonight.

The guys in the tan Naval uniforms "directing traffic" while the DI is in another part of the room- how far along are they in training?
bc1969214 8 months ago
@bc1969214 The ones directing traffic are Candidate Officers, who are in their 12th or 13th (and final) week of training.
