i fell in love with this song when i first heard it in my piano class at school

if there was ever a song to sum up my junior year at high school

    this would be it...

  • I heard this song in my freshmen year and I choose to play this song on my guitar. This song would sum up my freshmen year.

  • great job. heh...it looks like he's wearing white gloves because of the lighting but you can see in the piano reflection he isn't.

  • Gracias!

  • Una hermosa pieza, excelentemente interpretada.

    Rememora bellos recuerdos.

    Gracias!

  • Thank you!

  • Beautiful rendition. The precision of the playing is necessary to reveal the piece's grace and fluidity. Other versions just don't have that.

  • Wow, this song gives me the chills because I love it a lot. beautiful.

    Good job.

  • Thank you!

  • such a beautiful song! he plays it so well too, man i wish i was that good, cant play it half as well as that!

  • TY -- bet you could!

  • My english isn´t very good, plz excused. That music is so sensually, so heartwarming it´s amazing. Presently I read the book "twilight", so I take a look for the favourite musik from edward and bella. Now I can understand why they are so fascinated. Thx for this wonderfull experience.

  • oh my gosh, I've been playing for 8 years, and I can't play that song half as well as he plays it.

    Abosolutely gorgeous!

  • Thank you!

  • i dated mitchell for a very short time about 15 years ago. He is aincredible talented and an amazing sweetheart. He's one of tjose people that puts you in awe becasuse he really seems to be able to do anything. this debussy piece is my favorite of mitchells.

  • Diane, thank you for you generous remembrances and comments! They are greatly appreciated! I too have fond memories of you from the spring of 1991 in that wonderful part of the world. I am glad you are here!

  • besides sound quality, magnificant piece

  • Thank you, and yes it is!

  • Wow. What a brilliant performance. I am learning this tune - I've only began playing the 1st part and am already intimidated as the 2nd part is truly an Everest of emotion and skill. Your playing is probably very close to what Debussy intended - it is as magnificent and light as the moonlight itself. 5 stars

  • It's all a process. You seem to have a great attitude to be able to embrace it successfully!

  • Wow. This song is so beautiful, in so many of its varying interpretations. However, I certainly cannot help but to have my preferences, and your version seems to satisfy them. I'm an amateur h.s. senior taking piano, and I'm alright... I hope I can play this this year. Not that I'd subject myself to another's interpretation, but I couldn't feel I did it justice if I strayed too far from the delicate but confident touch this version has. Thank you for this. :)

  • amazin

  • Thank you!

  • My favorite piece of piano music and to hear it played by Zeidwig 3 times in a month was amazing. Then meet Mitchell and find he is just a very nice man with what we think is an extraordinary talent.

  • Thank you so much! It was a great pleasure meeting you as well! Very touching! Hope your trip back to Canada was comfortable.

  • My absolute favorite piano piece. And of all of the versions I have heard, yours supersedes by far. A close second is the version heard on the "Man on Fire" soundtrack (not sure who performs it). Do you have any recorded albums? Is there a place one could go to hear you play?

  • i am not a pianist but i am a guitarist. you played this song superbly. It is one of my favorite pieces, it gets me every time. Great timing and dynamics. Dont let all of the well deserved comments get to your head though. Could you recommend any other piano pieces I might enjoy?

  • Im not a pianist but I am a guitarist. This is one of my favorite pieces. It gets me every time. You play it fantasticly. Good timing and dynamics. Well done my friend. Don't let all the wonderful compliments go to your head though. lol Could you suggest some more piano pieces that I could listen to?

  • You play with beautiful sensitivity!

  • Thank you. You are very kind.

  • I absolutely adore this song, and you play it perfectly! It's so interesting ot watch a pianist's hands, they just seem to dance across the keys. Very Moving.

(I'm not a pianist, and I haven't seen many play before)

  • Sounds like you should be a pianist! Thank you.

  • very poetic, i am a pianist too and i heard a lot of versions of this piece, but yours is my favorite...do you have more youtube recording, i want to add them too in my favorites. ive been listening to this piece 4 times already at this moment. thank

  • Thank you! There is only one other Youtube recording. I plan to post others though. Do you have any Youtube recordings?

  • Beautiful! Tiems TEN!

  • Thank you too.

  • It`s really beautiful. And i love the flow and speed especially of the part where it first changes its key. ( Beginning of page 3 )

  • Thank you.

  • as much as I love this piece, and you, I'll admit, play it beautifully, I feel that at times you may have been playing a little too fast for my liking, esspecially when you enter bar 27... but then again that's my opinion, and you do, i must stress again, play wonderfully. Keep it up.

  • Thank you so much for your most helpful insight. One can never get enough of that! Keep it up on your end as well.

  • Awesome!! I've heard a lot of interpretations of claire de lune, but yours is simply outstanding! -- you really understood Debussy!

Because of your record I started to learn this incredible beautiful piece. Thank you!!

  • Thank you so much. I was away on tour for a while and have not seen your comment until now. Just listented to your Chopin Prelude. It was wonderful!

  • Excellent performance

  • Thank you!

  • That was a very nice, unique, and beautiful interpretation of the piece :). You made the melody sing and I know that it's very hard to do that for this piece. I loved the emotion you put into it as well! Fine performance! Thank you for sharing!

  • Thank you so much for sharing your thoughtful comment.

  • it's wonderful! very sincere...

  • Thank you. Very appreciative.

  • the audio could not keep up with your hands because youtube is not use to such wonderful musicianship. you are excellent. tempo, dynamics, rolls, pedals, everything was beyond perfection.

  • Thank you. You are beyond generous.

  • wow... all i can say is i wish i could play like that....... haha.. extremely beautiful. <3

  • Thank you. You can... if you practice.

  • hermosa...hermosa!

    simplemente..

    hermosa!

    =')

  • muchas gracias!

  • To all that see: Sometimes when you upload to YouTube, as I have been informed, the audio and video can become unsyncronized, as this did. I can assure you though, that this video is a live recording of my performance at the Firehouse Center for the Arts in Newburyport, Massachusetts.

  • Herr Zeidwig, apologies for the flame just a minute ago... I was enjoying your video and left the computer and my cousin thought it'd be funny to mock this beautiful performance. Moving and skillfully played, thank you for sharing this.

  • Wait what the hell? You're just moving your hands over the keyboard in an 'artistic interpretation' of Claire de Lune? Number one, do something that takes effort and learn to play the damn piece, number two, give credit to the person who recorded the rendition you're "performing" to (you know, someone with skill/talent/willingness to work a bit?), and number 3, if you absolutely must do this farcical injustice to what should be a pristine and beautiful piano solo, please do a better job.

  • Beautiful, herr zeidwig. I like the way you caress those keys. Well done. Please upload more.

  • Thank you. Your comment is very inviting and inspiring!

  • its exellent

  • Thank you.

  • I almost felt like crying... I.. LOVE YOU.

I haven't felt this way listening to a piece in a while.. Thank you thank you.

Timing.. pedaling.. emotion balanced with technicality.. dynamics.... everything was cathartic. The way you played aligned with the soul.

  • Just noticed this and I am very touched by your most generous expression to me. Thank you.

  • This is good just a little quiet
