Out of all the Claire de Lune videos on Youtube, this has always been my favorite rendition. If I ever learn this piece I'll only be mimicking this performance.
i loooovee this song its so beautiful and i love moonlight sonata. this song and that song always get stuck in my head and its funny at skoo cuz my teachers be tellin me somethin but i be to busy thinkin about the song
My english isn´t very good, plz excused. That music is so sensually, so heartwarming it´s amazing. Presently I read the book "twilight", so I take a look for the favourite musik from edward and bella. Now I can understand why they are so fascinated. Thx for this wonderfull experience.
i dated mitchell for a very short time about 15 years ago. He is aincredible talented and an amazing sweetheart. He's one of tjose people that puts you in awe becasuse he really seems to be able to do anything. this debussy piece is my favorite of mitchells.
Diane, thank you for you generous remembrances and comments! They are greatly appreciated! I too have fond memories of you from the spring of 1991 in that wonderful part of the world. I am glad you are here!
Wow. What a brilliant performance. I am learning this tune - I've only began playing the 1st part and am already intimidated as the 2nd part is truly an Everest of emotion and skill. Your playing is probably very close to what Debussy intended - it is as magnificent and light as the moonlight itself. 5 stars
Wow. This song is so beautiful, in so many of its varying interpretations. However, I certainly cannot help but to have my preferences, and your version seems to satisfy them. I'm an amateur h.s. senior taking piano, and I'm alright... I hope I can play this this year. Not that I'd subject myself to another's interpretation, but I couldn't feel I did it justice if I strayed too far from the delicate but confident touch this version has. Thank you for this. :)
My favorite piece of piano music and to hear it played by Zeidwig 3 times in a month was amazing. Then meet Mitchell and find he is just a very nice man with what we think is an extraordinary talent.
My absolute favorite piano piece. And of all of the versions I have heard, yours supersedes by far. A close second is the version heard on the "Man on Fire" soundtrack (not sure who performs it). Do you have any recorded albums? Is there a place one could go to hear you play?
i am not a pianist but i am a guitarist. you played this song superbly. It is one of my favorite pieces, it gets me every time. Great timing and dynamics. Dont let all of the well deserved comments get to your head though. Could you recommend any other piano pieces I might enjoy?
Im not a pianist but I am a guitarist. This is one of my favorite pieces. It gets me every time. You play it fantasticly. Good timing and dynamics. Well done my friend. Don't let all the wonderful compliments go to your head though. lol Could you suggest some more piano pieces that I could listen to?
I absolutely adore this song, and you play it perfectly! It's so interesting ot watch a pianist's hands, they just seem to dance across the keys. Very Moving.
(I'm not a pianist, and I haven't seen many play before)
very poetic, i am a pianist too and i heard a lot of versions of this piece, but yours is my favorite...do you have more youtube recording, i want to add them too in my favorites. ive been listening to this piece 4 times already at this moment. thank
as much as I love this piece, and you, I'll admit, play it beautifully, I feel that at times you may have been playing a little too fast for my liking, esspecially when you enter bar 27... but then again that's my opinion, and you do, i must stress again, play wonderfully. Keep it up.
That was a very nice, unique, and beautiful interpretation of the piece :). You made the melody sing and I know that it's very hard to do that for this piece. I loved the emotion you put into it as well! Fine performance! Thank you for sharing!
the audio could not keep up with your hands because youtube is not use to such wonderful musicianship. you are excellent. tempo, dynamics, rolls, pedals, everything was beyond perfection.
To all that see: Sometimes when you upload to YouTube, as I have been informed, the audio and video can become unsyncronized, as this did. I can assure you though, that this video is a live recording of my performance at the Firehouse Center for the Arts in Newburyport, Massachusetts.
Herr Zeidwig, apologies for the flame just a minute ago... I was enjoying your video and left the computer and my cousin thought it'd be funny to mock this beautiful performance. Moving and skillfully played, thank you for sharing this.
Wait what the hell? You're just moving your hands over the keyboard in an 'artistic interpretation' of Claire de Lune? Number one, do something that takes effort and learn to play the damn piece, number two, give credit to the person who recorded the rendition you're "performing" to (you know, someone with skill/talent/willingness to work a bit?), and number 3, if you absolutely must do this farcical injustice to what should be a pristine and beautiful piano solo, please do a better job.
Out of all the Claire de Lune videos on Youtube, this has always been my favorite rendition. If I ever learn this piece I'll only be mimicking this performance.
