  • Good performance, but Buddy Guy definitely should've been in the forefront. If I'm not mistaken, he was on the actual recording that Koko Taylor did.

  • Who are the other female singers, aside from Lauper? Staples doesn't show until ~ 3:30 I hope that isn't Bonnie Raitt w/ the black hair.

  • They also forgot Kenny Wayne Sheppard

  • Buddy guy being the ORIGINAL GUITARIST on this classic, should not be in the shadows :(

  • Cyndi Lauper is a legend...great, blessed!!!

  • How KWS is not in the shadows of Buddy i will never understand and he sure needs to learn a thing or two about showing respect to the legend standing next to him and not try to out play him. Absolutely horrible solo.

  • Not taking anything away from the great Buddy Guy but Kenny Wayne Shepherd ain't no slouch either.

  • @Bluesman9830 he isnt but if i wanted to hear SRV i would just listen SRV

  • Wang Dang Doodle (Willie Dixon) which was made popular by the late Koko Taylor in 1966 (reaching #4 on the Billboard R&B charts).

  • @754southwabash Thank you man! I love this song and their performance more.

  • What is the name of this song? Hilarious.

  • @fdliyp Wang Dang Doodle (Willie Dixon) which was made popular by the late Koko Taylor in 1966 (reaching #4 on the Billboard R&B charts).

  • Great mix of very talented ladies.

  • 3:28 WTF is she doing? He looks like that the solo isnt at the end..damn

2:57 "'Hey! Can you finally stop singing? We have here Mr Buddy Guy!"

3:00 "OMG OMG where is he? Ou who's that?"

  • Cyndi Might be not the same type of voice they usually take for the Blues, but since she is so unusual at first, and she's got the vibe on her, then I really clap this performance with all those Blues singers, who... appear to be very pleased with her, and welcoming her into that rhythm by making such a nice pack of players and singers, for me sounds like the girl really pleased their ears, otherwise they just could have decline the invitation...Don't you think?

  • PROOF >>>> THAT SRV aint got SHHHHHHITTTT .... on BUUUUUUUUUUUUDDDDDDDDDYYYYYY GUYYYYYY!

  • I don't get it. I like KWS and the Divettes but why is Buddy in the shadows?

  • I question that move by the production crew of the Grammys as well. I guess that's just another unfortunate representation of the reality of the music industry. Unless you're talking about musicians like Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Guitar Slim...there's not many musicians that have lived that Buddy should be standing in the shadows of (literally and figuratively). At the very least, he got his #6 Grammy that afternoon.

  • Trust me, I love Cyndi, but she doesn't have the deep growling voice for the blues. She is one of the greatest of all times, but this is not for her. Listen to those other women... that's how you do it. No offence Cyndi cause I have always loved you!!

  • In a word....MAVIS!

  • Yes. Seems likes that Grammy production decision issue.

  • I just saw Cyndi Lauper on "The Talk" just now and she said she was thrilled to perform with Buddy Guy at the Grammys.

  • @sherri419. Who in 1985 would have guessed Cyndi Lauper, of Girls Just Want To Have Fun-fame, would be singing a Willie Dixon song at the Grammys? I wouldn't have expected it at all. I completely sold her short. She's exceptionally talented! She would have made Koko proud!

  • @754southwabash 'can't tel you why but I always knew she had that kind of vibe, she's my favorite artist, her voice is such a paradox!!! hiiigh pitched voice with a looot of power ^^

when i saw her sing River Deep - Mountain High of tina turner i knew she could DEFINATELY SING ^^
