I hope all of you folks love Indian food, I do! This bill that's already passed the congress and getting ready to pass, by our Senate on December 23, 2012, is about to open the flood gates of much needed immigration from India.
but i do however agree on the fact that we need to control immigration because whats the fuckin point of bringing people here when people cant already find jobs, this would just increase poverty in the US
i agree and at the same time disagree, why because immigration isnt the big picture, it isnt what destroyed the economy, prices of oil did most of that, then the banks help and then big companies like to outsource to other countries, bringing workers here means the money will more be spent here unlike if you were to outsource.
I strongly support NumbersUSA as the best immigration control advocacy group. This advert is of course, bending over backwards to be PC - not in any way "racist" etc. We know it isn't just about numbers, it's who, where. We do care whether immigration is from healthy Nordic countries like Denmark, Sweden, Norway or from chaotic, violent 3rd world countries like Somalia. We want to be a safe, 1st world European American country, not like Somala, Cartel terrorized parts of Mexico.

It's great that the top comments are opposing viewpoints, it shows that the viewers are at least, almost equally biased in both directions. My opinion is that LEGAL immigration is a cornerstone of the American republic, but that certain regulations should be placed. For example, if an immigrant commits a serious crime within the first six months of residency, they should face a major risk of deportation. Or maybe the government should offer incentive for them to not occupy blue collar jobs...
The politically expedient answer to immigration issues by the GOP is, "build the fence, every mile of the southern border..." Go ahead and build the fence in high traffic lanes, but the rest is a waste of taxpayer $'s. The "enticements" must be addressed to create enduring immigration policy; Nationwide E-Verify, abolition of the visa lottery and birthright citizenship and chain-migration limited to nuclear family members only, and remodel the 'legal process' to dramatically reduce waiting time.
@MCFergy the enticements, as you put it, are the primary reason we have so many illegals. The lax pussy position that our politicians take are why it continues.
But securing the border is as important as fixing the enticements and getting our politicians to get serious about enforcement.
The border needs to be secured by a wall, and a joint-military action with Mexico. -not just for the illegals, but those damn drug lords and cartels.

Annual Federal legal immigration levels have been on "auto-pilot," to the tune of 1.2M immigrants per year, for years now. Should the Fed's be allowing "auto-pilot" immigration policy, or should levels be determined annually, based according to industry needs? 22 Million jobless Americans surely do not welcome the added competition for the few jobs that out there. Since our economic crash began four-years ago, "auto-pilot" immigration policy has added a 4.8M legal immigrants - illegals add more.

We have produced over 50% of the Nobel Prize winners in Chemistry, physics, medicine and economics over the last 40 years, no one is trying to sneak into China to attend school. I've worked in the biotech industry for over 21 years, we have plenty of American born workers in the industry.

Because in the PUBLIC SCHOOL level, our teens' science and math performance is AWFUL compared to other nations. The overwhelming majority of the legal immigrants will be competing with American Citizens for unskilled, blue collar jobs.
