I've never seen the use of hunting when it is not necessary for food purposes - it could be more beneficial to simply farm. As for the difference between hunting and torture as mentioned by another poster, the only thing I see is that one might be quicker than the other, but, my question to those who disagree is: "Would you rather be tortured or hunted?"
