Ok, so you didn't watch both videos or read any of the prior comments I guess. I did request to speak with the PIO. Tidbit of info for you regarding the use of the PIO. There is never a PIO present during their operations. They always say, "Speak to our PIO". When you ask "Where's the PIO?" They say "They'll be here shortly" Lies!!! The Detention Officer Stoddard refused to apologize and was ordered to report to jail on Dec. 1, 2009. The last I heard is that the County Prosecutor "Liddy" son of the crook G. I was notified of an investigation supposedly to located pirated material (CD's, DVD's etc.). It is my experience that they use this as an excuse to ask individuals that appear to be Latino their legal status. I spoke to the manager of the swap meet and he asked me to go ahead and document what was going on. I arrive and these deputies are not asking to see the merchandise, they are saying"I need to see your merchandise now". They did not have search warrants for each booth as they should have.

We later found out that in fact this was a crime sweep that did not just involve pirated material at this location, but it included a two day sweep of an approximate 10 mile radius in a predominantly Latino and low income neighborhood in which many people were stopped for supposedly not using their signal or not having sufficient light on their license plate. They were asked for their legal status even though they are here legally and they are U.S. Citizens. This is appalling!
Continued...When I documented, other then at first asking for a comment and being refused, I stood back and documented from at least 30-40 feet away. I was approached by them and harassed because they did not want me to record their inappropriate behavior. I'm sure you and others will continue to make excuses for their behavior. @activistausa, id like to commend you for documenting this particular Sheriffs Department.. obviously the press and or Federal Govt cant be wrong. several peoples liberties and rights have been violated by Sheriff Joe Arpaios Dept, it's as clear as water. unfortunately they have a mentality that only illegal immigrants commit crimes' well statistics show different.. the only crime being committed here is by the Maricopa Sheriff Dept for violating civil rights..

Good Job on this. The cops need to be reminded that they work for us. The judges are the only ones who can do that. I would love a federal court just crush this stuff under his heel. America is about freedom, not cops arbitrarily enforcing their whims with absolute disregard to the law.

The Detention Officer Stoddard refused to apologize and was ordered to report to jail on Dec. 1, 2009. The last I heard is that the County Prosecutor "Liddy" son of the crook G. Gordon Liddy was trying to get a stay. He was denied and then they were trying to determine if Dec 1, 2009 meant in the AM or before midnight of Dec. 1, 2009. You and I would have a warrant for our arrest by now!! Crooked, thieving bullies!

GREAT JOB MAN!! I think what you are doing is great. I do have to say that I am against ALL illegal immigration but if we wanted to slow it down we would see the cops going after the companies doing the hiring and we would take better care of our neighbors. This is turning into a quasi-NAZI police force. Fuck those guys.

It is also a general manner of civility. Sadly people talk to people the way the officer talked to you all the time. People are not polite or kind in too many situations.
People also make assumptions that if someone is taller that they are better. Robert Reich is a great economist and he is a very short person..

I was notified of an investigation supposedly to located pirated material (CD's, DVD's etc.). It is my experience that they use this as an excuse to ask individuals that appear to be Latino their legal status. I spoke to the manager of the swap meet and he asked me to go ahead and document what was going on. I arrive and these deputies are not asking to see the merchandise, they are saying"I need to see your merchandise now". They did not have search warrants for each booth as they should have.

Continued... We later found out that in fact this was a crime sweep that did not just involve pirated material at this location, but it included a two day sweep of an approximate 10 mile radius in a predominantly Latino and low income neighborhood in which many people were stopped for supposedly not using their signal or not having sufficient light on their license plate. They were asked for their legal status even though they are here legally and they are U.S. Citizens. This is appalling!

Continued...When I documented, other then at first asking for a comment and being refused, I stood back and documented from at least 30-40 feet away. I was approached by them and harassed because they did not want me to record their inappropriate behavior. I'm sure you and others will continue to make excuses for their behavior. Let's start having them pull over blonde hair blued citizens and ask for their legal status. Would that be fair? I think not!!!
