  • Outstanding and inspiring, this video is just what I needed to get my non profit organization started to assist OIF veterans like myself.

  • Amazing! Most applicable and engaging video I've seen. How did you get the scroll feature when you were explaining the volunteers sharing videos on facebook?

  • @DowneyKelley What do you mean by "the scroll feature?"

  • Vivian, I use interns from local colleges and they usually work out great. Try contacting a college's internship office.

  • Tim thank you so much! This was wonderfully helpful! I came away with really simple, practical ideas for JustTell. One question, any other suggestions for where to find social media interns? We posted it to Idealist (great resource I'm sure you know!) but no luck so far. Thank you. Vivian

  • What a terrific resource for the non-profit sector. Thanks Tim.

  • "The Agitator" says this video "demolishes four key reasons smaller nonprofits might not use social media." Cool.

  • 1:What are the requirements for registering a non-profit in the US?

There's an IRS application and guidelines the organization must meet (e.g., having a board)

2:do you have to keep tracks of all your donations, for the IRS ?

    Yes.

3:lets say that 2 is true, what do you do when someone donates an object?you have to determine it's value?

We provide a receipt stating that we received the item but leave the value determination to the donor.

  • @ThankfulHome

    1. you should talk with a lawyer or consultant to get the full requirements.

    2. yes

    3. no, the donor determines the value of in-kind gifts

  • Thanks to everyone for the incredible feedback on my presentation! If you have any questions about it, let me know.

1:What are the requirements for registering a non-profit in the US?

2:do you have to keep tracks of all your donations, for the IRS ?

3:lets say that 2 is true, what do you do when someone donates an object?you have to determine it's value?
