there is a new Movement thats called the iStand Movement in response to the Blasphemy challenge check it out at Randal Lee Dot org. They are gaining media attention across the nation. Teens everywhere are posting up videos that they stand for Jesus check out what God is doing!
"Truly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they utter; but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin" - for they had said, "He has an unclean spirit." (Mark 3:28-30)
Except when I use my mind, show courage, and question his existence with plenty of reasons to do so!
Then this so called "love" becomes a need to see me burn in a lake of fire for all eternity. Hate to burst that serene bubble of ignorance you inhabit, but that aint love.
So please stop insisting your god "loves" anyone!!
DENYING THE HOLY SPIRIT DOES NOT MEAN YOU WILL GO TO HELL. When Jesus was performing miracles, he was doing it by the power of the holy spirit(third person in the trinity). But when the Pharisees claimed that Jesus powers were of the devil, they were blaspheming the Holy Spirit. Just to be clear YouTube, rational responders are messing with your heads!
Just who is messing with who's head? You're going on about Jesus performing miracles. How do you know he did any such thing? Clearly, the Jewish council didn't find anything he did to be convincingly "miraculous". They believed in God and found that Jesus wasn't him. And most of what you're relying upon are pseudopigraphic writings - not the writings of his disciples or the apostles. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John weren't written by Matthew, Mark, Luke or John.
Just to be clear, the clergy is messing with YOUR head. The Trinity is three gods, not one. That's polytheism, not monotheism. So you have multiple gods which is borrowed from paganism, Christmas which is borrowed from pagans, Baptism which is borrowed from paganism, Easter which is borrowed from the pagans, Sunday Sabbath borrowed by Constantine from the pagan sun god Mithra, and yet Christianity is true and paganism is false? Not likely. Are they both false? THAT'S likely!
WILL YOU GO TO HEAVEN? Here is a quick test, have you ever told a lie? Have you ever stolen something? Have you ever used Gods name as a cuss word? Have you ever been jealous or prideful? If you have done these things, you are heading for Hell. That is not Gods will. God sent Jesus to take the punishment on the cross for our sins, so that if you repent(turn away from sin) and trust in Jesus as your lord and savior, God will forgive every sin you ever committed and grant you Heaven.
Blaise Pascal: 1623-1662 French Mathemetician , "There is a God-shaped vacuum in the heart of every man which cannot be filled by any created thing, but only by God, the Creator, made known through Jesus Christ." (Pensees)? But by Jesus Christ and in Jesus Christ, we prove God and teach doctrine and morals. Jesus Christ, then, is the true God of men."
Blaise Pascal can wax poetic all he wants regarding his personal subjective religious beliefs. Again; the only thing that matters in the objective world in seeking the nature of reality is what one can demonstrate via evidence. When it comes down to reality, Pascal had no more evidence than any other theist or any atheist. That's what theists don't seem to realize, you have no more evidence than do non-believers. You simply discount the significance of that absence.
The best data we have are exactly what I would have predicted, had I nothing to go on but the five books of Moses, the Psalms, the Bible as a whole. He was the one who got the data so he should know ... right?
Perhaps that's what you don't understand about science and why it works so well to expose truths - it doesn't matter what anyone asserts or wants to believe. The only thing that matters in science is what you can demonstrate through evidence. So when he demonstrates a correlation between the writings of Moses and his scientific findings, then the statement has merit. Until then, it's subjective rubbish and worth absolutely zero on any objective basis.
Arno Penzias made perhaps the greatest observation in cosmology to date. He, along with Robert Wilson, discovered the cosmic background radiation from the Big Bang. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for his work.
Don't forget that you've not even attempted to respond to any of my questions about the inconsistencies in the gospels. Is that how you "search for truth" - by ignoring the failures of the beliefs you've adopted? Are you afraid that if you looked into it you might find out I'm right? Why glaze over and begin chanting scripture like a zombie when confronted with well-founded questions? One is compelled to wonder if you're more interested in convincing others, or convincing yourself.
No, God says his work of creation is manifest (CLEAR & OBVIOUS) to all men. You have all the information need to turn from ignorance, a sinful life & willful rebellion-
the Apostle Paul states, you are, in fact, without excuse. And of course, I have evidence, you see it everyday: its called the human mind, rationality and consciousness. God gave it to us and the more removed, that is depraved and alienate one becomes from his own soul, the more difficult it is to acknowledge Him.
No, God didn't say that. Men wrote that - likely after saying it for many years. Then they CLAIMED they were God's words. I practice willful evaluation of evidence and when MEN tell me GOD said ridiculous things, I check their evidence and finding none in support, conclude it as their words, not that of a God. I do the same where "God" was said to promote slavery, genocide, infanticide, kidnapping, rape and global devastation. I practice intellectual honesty instead of blind faith.
shieldsff, - RE: 'the Apostle Paul states, you are, in fact, without excuse'
Paul (Saul of Tarsus), was overseeing the arrest and execution of Christians, even as he traveled the road to Damascus where he experienced what is consistent with an epileptic attack involving the temporal lobe and manifesting in a vision.
I've never killed a Christian, a Muslim, a Hindu, a Jew or anyone else. Paul really needs to pipe down, get a medical check-up, and have his "thorn in the flesh" properly treated.
Faith - as it is practiced by Christians in nearly every debate, is simply the dismissal of any and all evidence which refutes their position.
You likely use your gas gauge, your watch, the icons on your computer screen, your bank book and observe the color of traffic lights. But when it comes to religion, you ignore the evidence and choose out of desire, throwing rational evaluation of evidence to the trash, simply because it refuses to serve your desired beliefs. That's "faith".
You're simply presenting more false claims from scripture. Faith, while it assists you in ignoring evidence which fails to support your position, does nothing to bring you greater understanding. Never has faith brought greater understanding to anyone. People used to throw their children into volcanoes out of faith. It didn't help them understand vulcanology. They tried to treat disease with rituals of faith. It didn't help them understand microbes. It's worthless.
I can give an incomplete list of important 20th-Century scientists who are/were Christians:
•Arthur Eddington, an important mathematical cosmologist, was a Quaker. •Georges Lemaître, a Roman Catholic priest, proposed the Big Bang theory.•I don't know whether Michael Polanyi, the notable physical chemist and philosopher, was Christian at the end of his life, but I know that he was when he wrote Science, Faith and Society, the best introduction to his thought.
- RE: 'I can give an incomplete list of important 20th-Century scientists who are/were Christians'
To what point? I can give a list of German church clergy who were Nazis. The final word remains that among prominent scientists, few hold to theistic beliefs. Arguably, the most elite membership in all of science is the National Academy of Sciences and they are 93% atheists. Those with the greatest and most complete understanding of the workings reality find no cause to believe in God
•Henry F. "Fritz" Schaefer is one of the foremost theoretical chemists of our day. •William Phillips was co-recipient of the 1997 Nobel Prize in Physics.
•Francis Collins ( is the director of the U.S. Human Genome Project. •Rustum Roy, one of the world's foremost materials scientists, holds three chairs at the Pennsylvania State University.
I would hope you're not even considering attempting to suggest that when scientists who hold to theistic beliefs are practicing science that they in any way incorporate faith as a part of the discipline. Science does not and cannot allow faith. Any inclusion of faith renders the process as other than science and is responsible for some of the greatest blunders to arise from scientists, Einstein included.
relative to Newton and other prominent theist scientist, it is gross misrepresentation to assert that they viewed the Bible as scientific textbook per se, or anything of the sort Rather, faith, reason & the God of the Bible account are essential constituent elements of the worldview of believers. That this eludes UR mind is not at all surprising- this is why the Lord said a man MUST BE born again to see the Kingdom of God.
And yet nowhere have I made the assertion that any true scientist anywhere held to the Bible as a scientific textbook. Yet the Bible does make assertions which are testable through the scientific method and when it does, it tends to fail more often than not. One might expect that a "perfect God", could score better than 50% on a man-made science test. Apparently, despite being the supposed source of all creation, science isn't his best subject. He fails history & biology as well.
Since you seem so fond of calling in the quotations of theistic scientists as though it somehow voided the importance of objectivity in descerning truth, let's look to Einstein as well. He was quite fond of saying, "God does not play dice" as his response (often to Neils Bohr), regarding quantum mechanics and uncertainty. This, like most of Einstein's subjective appeals lead him to embarrassing failure. Quantum mechanics and uncertainty have been well verified and confirmed.
beastly-How can you know if Christianity is true ? Do no be deceived... God is perfect and His truth about the condition of all men is clear both now and throughout human history- men are in a state of perpetual rebellion, darkness and law breaking- look at yourself! God tells us in the Bible, in the day you hear my voice, don't harden your mind- seek me diligently as precious silver & gold and trust that. See the list I posted on your channel
beastly-He rewards those who are sincere. There is no excuse for anyone because Romans tells us that if any person humbly accepts God grace in jesuss sacrificial death for sin, and have faith in that, then he will clearly see and have the truth and have everlasting life. You both delude & damn yourself by insisting you have the cognitive capacity to rationally deconstruct the truth of God the Only path we have from God is faith (in Christ) which justifies
Jesus said if a man truly [wants to earn] everlasting life, then he would keep all the commandments and love the Lord with all his heart, mind, & soul (regardless of what people say about him).. Have you done that ? Do you study Jesus words when He said except that a man is born again of the water & the spirit he cannot see the Kingdom of God. Do you understand that the Father has given all authority and judgment to His only Begotten Son You must be born again ~ !
It is interesting to me that you further cite minor variances in a biblical account to someone prove that you are, what, more informed than the rest of all ? You superficially inquire about the location of Jesus boyhood journey seeking to make a facile and false complaint . It is simple, in fact, address and explain; but, for you,..
Beast 17 / "the so-called "power of God" has? never helped anyone with anything. It's an illusion/delusion. It always has been," > And of course if one doesn't believe this, they should just ask you and you will be glad to assure that Your statement true. And you could point them to the proof, Right?
When will you decide to accept truth in your life? I guess it will have to be when you are about to eternally be put to death as you will Bow your knee and Praise God.
When will you decide to accept truth in your life? I guess it will have to be when you are about to be munched like a carrot and put to death by the true god, Bugs Bunny. Bow and praise the supreme rabbit before it's too late. He is all love, all power and all truth and yet you deny that he exists.
Really, desist with the silly cartoon claims and start recognizing reality, evidence, demonstration and reason. Irrational beliefs only lead to irrational actions.
Beast /"I say no such man or god, ever existed.Jesus is a myth" To deny the existence of JESUS CHRIST is really off the charts. you have been sent a very strong delusion. Actually most would argue whether or not Christ was raised from the dead, of which there is overwhelming evidence that He did, but to question or deny that He ever existed Is insane. You really need to find out how historical facts and events are stablished by the evidence. Check out what Mcdowell has to say about evidence.
I've noticed you still haven't even attempted to provide support for your claim that there is "more evidence for that [the existence of Jesus] than alot of other major historical events".
By now you've probably noticed that the reason you can't support it is that it isn't true. That should be a significant finding for you. Only willful denial (faith), can prevent you from learning the reality. Jesus is a myth - a fanciful tale based on earlier pagan myths.
beast/ "I've noticed you still haven't even attempted to provide support for your claim that there is "more evidence for that [the existence of Jesus] than a lot of other major historical events". I stand behind this claim. But I'm NOT going to explain why it's true. you need to check for yourself . The explaining is done, check those materials that I mentioned.
blackaboe, - RE: "I stand behind this claim. But I'm NOT going to explain why it's true."
Did you notice how much those two statements together look like someone not standing behind a claim? If you can demonstrate that I'm wrong, why would you not do so? After all, you're trying "bring people to Jesus" aren't you?
I've already checked this out for myself and what I found is why I say no such man or god, ever existed. Jesus is a myth based on a restructuring of earlier pagan myths.
Beast /"I say no such man or god, ever existed.Jesus is a myth" To deny the existence of JESUS CHRIST is really off the charts. you have been sent a very strong delusion. blackaboe, - RE: "To deny the existence of JESUS CHRIST is really off the charts."
Not at all. It is compliance with the evidence. There is not a single extra-biblical verification and the Bible has an obvious slanted agenda. - RE: "there is overwhelming evidence that He did"
There isn't even overwhelming evidence that he ever existed and when challenged for any evidence, you can't present it. So clearly, the only evidence for the resurrection is the Bible's slanted unverified story.
blackaboe, - RE: "check those materials that I mentioned."
Since I explained that I already have, why don't you check what I mentioned? AiG insists that the Bible is correct, despite the lack of both verification and credibility. They then state, "Therefore, we are able to use it to help us make sense of this present world. When properly understood, the 'evidence' confirms the biblical account." If I made the same assumption in reading "Peter Pan", what would the evidence have to say?
ASSUMPTION: The novel "Peter Pan" can be trusted to tell the truth in all areas it touches on. Therefore, When properly understood, the 'evidence' confirms the Peter Pan account.
Now where do you go from there? Once you insist that all evidence MUST agree with "Peter Pan", can you conclude that the novel is fiction or incorrect?
Such an assumption and assertion is bankrupt on both intellectual and ethical grounds. Yet, it's the only way to defend the Bible because it is otherwise indefensible.
blackaboe, - RE: "I stand behind this claim. But I'm NOT going to explain why it's true."
Essentially what you're saying is, "I stand behind this claim but I won't stand behind it". If you want to stand behind it, then offer support. Your individual belief isn't any kind of support for anything. David Koresh thought he was the Messiah. Does that mean he was? He was willing to stand behind the claim but he couldn't support it. Should we have believed him?
Jesus said that he would lay down his life and take it up again, and HE did. There's actually more evidence for that than alot of other major historical events in even much more resent history that nobody would deny.
blackaboe, - RE: "Your much too far beyond the realm of reason"
I'm using reason. Jesus never wrote a single word of the Bible and yet you keep saying "Jesus said". You have no clue what he said or if he ever said anything. You're taking the word of people, many of whom are anonymous, and none of whom you ever met or could assess their character.
If Jesus existed reason dictates that extra-biblical historians would have mentioned him. They didn't. So it's unlikely he existed. He's a myth.
Beast /You are very brain washed you need to feed on something besides GOD denying propaganda. check the other side of the issue, from non hostile sources, such as Answers in Genesis or The I.C.R and it's many good resources and books and maybe Josh Mcdowell's books like Evidence Demands A Verdict or the second book; More Evidence Demands A Verdict. Why get all your info. from the enemies of your soul? your eternal destiny is at stake.Satan Hates God, He Hates You, He's the Father of Lies.
Who is more likely to be brainwashed; the person who believes in god but decides to take a purely objective look at the world and realizes there is no evidence of god, or the one who is told about God from birth, indoctrinated into religion, dragged off to church, continually told they'll be punished eternally if they don't believe and who openly accepts objective evidence for EVERYTHING in their life... EXCEPT religion?
blackaboe, - RE: "something besides GOD denying propaganda"
When I began to examine my theistic beliefs, I didn't go to a library, or a group of people, or a book store or even a library of video documentaries. I turned to the world around me - reality. I found it to be entirely incompatible with theism. Now tell me, from where did you derive your theism? Might it have been from people? Who is brainwashed here? Did reality brainwash me into disbelief in God?
blackaboe, - RE: "Answers in Genesis or The I.C.R"
I'm quite familiar with both of these sites, the agendas and their arguments. You don't go through 4-years of arguing the atheist standpoint in the world's largest online Christian Forum without becoming intimately familiar with both of these.
And both reveal their agendas. AiG states that they consider any evidence contrary to scripture to be false. How can evidence be false? Evidence is real. Scripture is false when it contradicts evidence.
Then show my arguments to be lies. Of course the problem is that you can't. I can demonstrate the falsehoods of the Bible and of those who promote the Bible as truth, but when they can't refute my statements, they turn to "it's the work of the Devil". More rationally; "it's the work of reality". Reality conflicts with religion. And when anything conflicts with reality, reality isn't at fault. Reality is always real. How many religions are false?
beast/ I can demonstrate the falsehoods of the Bible and of those who promote the Bible as truth, We already did this, remember? Josh Mcdowell was a lawyer who set out to document the Bible to be false. And after he did the research he found it to be true and became a christian. His books can answer most of your arguments, especially on how historical facts are established. You definitely need to learn how to make these determinations. Don't listen to the enemies of God and of The BIBLE.
Josh Mcdowell was one guy. Christianity has lost 9.7% of it's following in an 11-year period. And neither says anything about the Bible being true or false.
But when any book claims plants growing in cryogenic temperatures without light, it's false. If any book proclaims a planet devoid of an atmosphere, covered in liquid water, it's false. And all of the more than 200-global flood stories, including those before the Bible, are demonstrably false. The Bible claims all of these things
beast/ Christianity has lost 9.7% of it's following in an 11-year period. " > I wouldn't deny that, but that is part of what the Bible predicted would happen just prior to the return of Christ > "Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?" Plus it's spoken of many times in the epistles.
How hard is it for anyone promoting a new religion to predict that not everyone will believe, and that the number who believe will eventually decrease as they piece the truth together and realize the religion is fiction?
Clearly, the fabric (fiction) of religion/Christianity is beginning to unravel. But this won't lead to the return of Jesus or any other proclaimed Messiah. It will lead to rational beliefs to replace irrational beliefs.
Beast / " for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:" > The Bible teaches that God's people are always in the minority. > "and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. " Thats Mathew 7: 13-14
Will you ever understand that it doesn't matter how much you quote the old writings of ancient goat-herders? It means nothing more to me than it would to you if I kept quoting Dr. Seuss. It's inconsistent, contradictive, horrific and demonstrably refuted rubbish.
There are people who believe themselves to be "God's people", but with no God to be had, they're more accurately "delusion's people".
Beast /"writings of ancient goat-herders?"This is typical, I hear this consistently from the people of your generation, coming out of the institutions of higher learning. You though your money down a rat hole. Your brain-washed and poisoned against God and The Bible. Only by the Power of The Spirit of God will you be able find deliverance from this powerful delusion. The Bible says it comes from Satan through rebellion against God. You are captive. Jesus can deliver you, IFyou will let Him.
blackaboe, Then tell me, who wrote the Bible? Who picked up scribe, dipped it in ink and applied characters to parchment? It wasn't God. You seem to realize that Allah didn't write the Qur'an. I assume you realize that "The Creator" didn't write "Oahspe". For each book claiming divine origin, you recognize the true author, except one. With the Bible you deviate. Yet the Bible offers nothing more to support its claim than do any of the dozens of other books claiming divine inspiration.
Sorry to burst your bubble with harsh realities but the so-called "power of God" has never helped anyone with anything. It's an illusion/delusion. It always has been, just like the proclaimed power of all those other gods you don't believe exist. Thousands of people die while begging to be rescued by their gods every year. Gods don't exist.
There are thousands of gods from which to choose. I disbelieve in all for the same reason. You disbelieve in all but one, without reason.
This is the part you should be attempting to address. If it's not just the writings of ancient goat-herders, we shouldn't be seeing inconsistencies, contradictions or anything demonstrably incorrect. But we do. We see many, many instances of these things. We can expect that from goat-herders, but not from an all-powerful God who could easily write his own message... if he existed.
blackboe, - RE: "...and HE did. There's actually more evidence for that..."
No there isn't. All you have is an account in one book, unverified in any other book or from any source external to that book. The novel "Peter Pan" isn't supporting evidence for the existence of Peter Pan just as the Bible isn't evidence for the existence of Jesus. - RE: "more evidence for that than alot of other major historical events"
So you're repeating the claim you wouldn't support last time you made it.
Of course we have to remember that all through the gospels, Jesus demonstrated over and over again that He was God, by raising the dead and healing the sick, giving sight to the blind. The BIBLE says the religious leaders delivered him to death for envy. They even wanted to put Lazarus back to death who Jesus raised from the dead because it caused so many of the Jews to believe on Him. Of course Beast doesn't believe the Bible but still tries to Use it to prove a point. Seems strange to Me.
blackaboe, - RE: "Of course we have to remember that all through the gospels, Jesus demonstrated..."
We first need to remember that Jesus added no more to the gospels than Peter Pan added (or demonstrated), in the Novel, "Peter Pan". Jesus wrote not one word of the gospels. They were written after he died, in most cases, decades after. All you have are "claims" based on old, unsupportable stories; just like with Peter Pan. It's a story - a myth - repeated and based on older pagan myths.
blackaboe, - RE: "Beast doesn't believe the Bible but still tries to Use it to prove a point. Seems strange to Me'
I believe the Bible exists and I believe it demonstrates a point. It demonstrates that it's not what it claims to be. If you were showing that Peter Pan wasn't real, could you do so without looking at the claims made in the novel "Peter Pan"? Those claims are outside of reality, just as are many of the claims made in the Bible. And the Bible's chronology, also calls for doubt.
One has to love the truth for all it's worth. The aTheists don't, their religion denies God=Truth=Word=Jesus because he proved his word as truth... Jesus Validated the Law as Truth, with all it's rules, and it's punishments, that's why Yahweah and Jesus never change like his law, they are eternal, and so is judgment! if they admit Jesus, they admit Sin, and then would have to admit they have been self-deceived and they hate to admit that - pride!
Ok I give up. How did jesus prove his word as truth? Yahweah is supposed to be all knowing and all powerful. In the old testament he is mean, murderous, cruel treats women like crap but in the new testament he is all loving, turn the other cheek type of guy. Why the change?
Jesus couldn't even show the Jews (people who believe in God), that he was God. And he had every reason and every opportunity to do so.
Don't you think if God existed he could convince people who believe in him that he was really God?
Jesus failed, was found guilty and handed off to the Romans for further adjudication because he couldn't convince a council of Jews that he was really God. So why would anyone today believe he was?
An untrue statement. first you must know who Jesus was talking about and to, and who the apostles and the lost sheep are. The Israelites did listen... as they do today who have a love ofr the truth in their hearts.
The statement is perfectly true. Have you read the story in the Bible? Jesus was rounded up in the middle of the night and taken to a mock Jewish trial (despite the fact that they weren't suppose to hold court at night). But as people who believed in God, had Jesus been God, it wouldn't have been difficult to convince them that he was God - if he were God. Obviously, he wasn't and they didn't believe him.
These men were from their father the devil, and a few true Believers were caught up in his execution, but as you said, his trial was a mock trial, no true intention or Authority to exist, he was put to death without a cause.
John 15.25 But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.
Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men:
See? First you tell me it's untrue, then when I show you it isn't, you attempt to find some kind of false justification for it - "these men were from their father the devil". So now we know that anytime we wish to demonize someone (for things like not recognizing our proclaimed god as God), we just assert that they were of the Devil.
Just ignore the fact that as Jews, they believed in God and hated the Devil. Ignore everything that doesn't fit in your imaged little world.
Now; back to the real world. Since you obviously believe that God is real, if God came to you in the form of a man and wanted to prove to you that he was God, how hard would that be for him to do?
What would he have to do? Would it be difficult for him? Now apply your answer to the Bible story where Jesus is tried by the Jews. Obviously, Jesus did nothing that convinced them. They found him not to be God, and to be guilty of claiming to be God, yet they believed in God.
MannaBoBannaPeople, - RE: "You don't understand what the whole of scripture says."
The evidence suggest that you're the one who doesn't understand. The Bible makes multiple claims which simply can't be true, like the idea that God is both merciful and just. One discounts the other so it can't be true. So what the whole of scripture says is that it's a man-made work of flawed fiction.
MannaBoBannaPeople, - RE: "as they do today who have a love ofr the truth in their hearts"
People who claim truth, but can't demonstrate it to be truth, are talking about a belief,. It's a belief, not a truth. Truths must be consistent with reality or they're not true. All religions claim to be the truth. None of them demonstrate consistency with reality. Those who really love truth don't just bat the word around or misapply it - they demonstrate truths. You can't do that because it's false.
And your idea of "facts" are to believe anything a bunch of superstitious goat-herders from 2,000 years ago wrote, just because they told you to believe it?
Do you believe a planet with no atmosphere can be covered in liquid water? (Science says this is impossible). Do you believe plants can grow in cryogenic temperatures and without light? If you don't believe those things, then you already don't believe the Bible.
You believe the absurd because you were instructed to do so.
MannaBoBannaPeople, - RE: "The bible reflects truth in science."
The Bible is refuted through the truth of science & morality. Growing plants are inconsistent with the lack of a sun. Liquid surface water is inconsistent with the lack of an atmosphere. A global flood is inconsistent with the geologic table. Speech is inconsistent with the anatomy of snakes. Killing children for cursing is inconsistent with being loving and caring.
The lack of intellectual honesty is on your part, not mine.
Outright lie for those that do not yet fully know your god satan, to you LIES are truth... too bad you cant not be honest with life and yourself in reflection... O well I still will praise Jesus when you are dead forever.
YES. your right. If it's true it will not conflict with true science, but at the same time something that is outside the laws of physics {GOD} can't be proved either way by science.
Well, by the same token I could insist that Leprechauns are real, and simply outside of the laws of physics. Like your statement it's a hollow meaningless assertion. Now when you can demonstrate that anything actually exists outside of the laws of physics, then you'll have support for your assertion.
So can you? Can you demonstrate the existence of anything outside of the laws of physics, or do you hope to be compelling through nothing but meaningless unsupportable statements?

Christians (and many other theists), continually rattle on about the "evidence" for God. But despite such assertions, insistence, evasions, proclamations and assertions, there remains not a single objective evidence for God, nor will there ever be any, because that which does not exist does not produce evidence either of its existence or the lack thereof. God is a myth and has always been nothing but a myth.
Dude, UR rant is you dismissive & disrespectful to this woman's experience. It is clear that you have given NO real consideration to Christian practice & beliefs. One important thing it teaches is that all of us are oppressed by a defective nature & SIN.
Firstly, try READING for yourself what the New Testament and what Christianity teaches before attacking; you sound extremely embittered ! It is the HOLINESS & PEACE of God that can give you REAL humanity and personal joy.
What makes you think I haven't read it? I have an idea, why don't you read it... again. But this time, put your confirmation-bias, your excuses and your subjective desire in the closet. Then explain to me why Matthew tells us Joseph, Mary and Jesus fled to Egypt to escape King Herod while Luke tells us they traveled to Jerusalem to pay a tax imposed by a governor who wasn't even in power under Herod. And yet, they claim it's "God's inspired word". Doesn't God know what happened?
Yet, you simply launch off and repeat a common skeptic fallacy of misrepresenting what Christians actually think and believe about a matter. No I do not suffer from any form of confirmation bias (I take it you mean some variation on wish-fulfillment nonsense); Rather, you suffer from being patronizing, overbearing and boastful ! Jesus said if a man truly [wants to earn] everlasting life, then he would keep all the commandments and love the Lord with all his heart, mind, & soul (regardless of what people about him).. Have you done that Mr. Bible scholar? Oh, I didnt think so. Do you study Jesus words when He said except that a man is born again of the water & the spirit he cannot see the Kingdom of God.
There is no cause to believe anyone has studied the words of Jesus and insufficient evidence exists to even conclude that such a person ever lived. If the Jesus story is base on an actual man, there is no reason to believe that you know anything of what he said. You should look into the actual history of the gospels and realize that we don't really know who wrote what or whether anyone claiming to be an eye-witness actually was. Beyond that, saying something just doesn't make it true
Do you understand that the Father has given all authority and judgment to His only Begotten Son is it any wonder you are so clueless ?!? You must be born again ~ !
Do you understand that this is simply assertion and unsupportable via any verified means of confirmation? You're just regurgitating what you've heard and accepted without having applied any appropriate level of critical analysis. That being the case, you have no credible claim to having performed any search for truth. You simply accepted what you were told and are now engaged in repeating it to others, despite having zero evidence or reason to believe a single word of it.
Are you now a bible scholar? You refer to the doctrine of biblical inerrancy, yet you obviously, do not appear to understand what it means or teaches. For one thing, [Reformed] Christians are not Muslims; i.e., we do not hold to the position that the text is itself absolute or inerrant (how could it be when Christians were a persecuted sect by the Roman empire for hundred of years ?)
Wherever did you get the idea that I suggested that reformed Christians are Muslims? The text not only isn't inerrant, in many instances it's purely absurd. One might think if it was God's message to man, he'd take some kind of steps to protect it. Afterall, you're claiming he's perfect despite the fact that the universe is claimed as his creation and NOTHING in the universe is perfect. Perfection is as perfection does. Apparently "God" is neither perfect nor even mildly intelligent.
beastly- 'you're claiming he's perfect despite the fact that the universe is claimed as his creation '. Again, I if you are going to attempt to debunk a tenant of the christian belief, why not take a moment to accurately assess it ? Christians do not maintain the world as we know it is by any means 'perfect' as is God (that migh tbe more like pantheism I guess). The full corruption of the world is quite evident is the views and lives of willfullly rebellion creatures such as URself.
And yet the Bible - the proclaimed, "Word of God", claims that God is perfect. One cannot be perfect and create that which is not. The perfect craftsman does not produce an imperfect craft. So either God is terribly and demonstrably imperfect, or he is not the creator of the universe.
Perhaps you should stop whining, moaning, & pitying URself ! The wisdom & mercy of God is more valuable than anything you can ever experience in this life if you ever have the chance to do so. You will never find God with your finite mind and limited reasoning (what is of the human mind is finite, what is spiritual is beyond your conception) ; you must be born again of the water & spirit as Jesus said, even just to see the Kingdom of God Let me offer this simple point:
There is no "wisdom of God" and if God is merciful, then he cannot be just. If he approved of the killing of an innocent man for the deeds of guilty men, then he is neither just nor merciful. Show me a Christian community that would accept a loving mother accepting execution in place of her rapist murdering son. Clear your head. Restore your ability to reason and actually analyze your beliefs. They fall rapidly to scrutiny. You haven't a shred more evidence than I.
: Whoever believes on Jesus has EVERLASTING life (right now); in contrast, the righteous wrath of God works naturally in whoever rejects Jesus and condemns the Love of God and the work He has already freely extended to all of us in His Son so that we are without excuse.
Do you remember the slogans of the cigarette companies from 20-years ago? Did saying them or memorizing them make them true? You're just regurgitating. I could quote Oahspe or the Qur'an. Would you find that compelling? If not, why would you think for a second that any of this rhetoric is at all compelling to me? Engage some neural activity. Think your way through this and present a credible argument. Until then, you're no better than a mindless robot playing an old, erroneous tape.
if you deny the works of God (which are obvious to all men), you will never arrive at the knowledge of God (Heb. 11:1). Any man. Anywhere, any time, who earnestly, sincerely and with repentance calls on the name of the Lord will be saved !
There is nothing to deny. In all the tens of thousands of years, thousands of proclaimed gods, and hundreds of proclaimed divine writings, there has never once been anything confirmed to have been of even supernatural origin, let alone that of a supreme being. You're just spouting the words of ancient, primitive and relatively ignorant, superstitious men. That's all - just men. There exists not one bit of credible evidence to suggest that God wrote even a single word of "God's word".
Explain to me why Matthew claims Jesus was born under King Harod (the 1st), and Luke claims he was born under the reign of Governor Cyrenius - a ten year gap. Explain why most Christians think Matthew wrote the book of Matthew when no one really knows who wrote it. Explain why Matthew, who claims to be an eyewitness, copies many parts of Mark, word-for-word. The official explanation is that Mark took his gospel from Peter. So you have one account, instead of three. You read it.
Beastt17 - Are you now a bible scholar? You refer to the doctrine of biblical inerrancy, yet you obviously, do not appear to understand what it means or teaches. For one thing, [Reformed] Christians are not Muslims; i.e., we do not hold to the position that the text is itself absolute or inerrant (how could it be when Christians were a persecuted sect by the Roman empire for hundred of years ?)
I wont! If you were sincere & authentic about searching for the truth, you would have undertaken a practical review and, maybe, actually attempted to study the account with a trained clergy person (or maybe just do a Google search) - but no, youre too beyond that, right
One cannot search for the truth by adopting, without appropriate consideration, ANY proposition. One must weigh the evidence, analyze the constructs and see if they align to reason. This is what I have done and that's why I don't believe what you believe. I did an honest search for truth and that lead me away from religion and all concepts of the supernatural. If you have objective evidence to support your beliefs, I'll look. If not, then your search for truth was a dishonest ruse.
People are trying to tout a belief as worthy of respect when it simply isn't. A non-physical being who is just, yet merciful, omnipotent, omniscient and yet transforms into a man to sacrifice himself to himself to appease himself, deserves all the respect of the belief that sentient purple pickles are hovering behind Jupiter and causing disasters on Earth. It gets what it earns - a lack of respect. But a lack of respect for a belief isn't a lack of respect for the believer.
Look again at who is calling others "liars", when they can't support that claim. Look at who is trying to say anyone who believes differently is complicit with Satan. Look who is telling others they're dead forever and claiming they're not when they don't really know. Look at who seems almost to rejoice as they tell me I will be eternally put to death. Look who falsely tells us scripture is consistent when it clearly is contradictory. Your bias is showing and your judgment, skewed.
MannaBoBannaPeople, - RE: "Those jews (albeit sme that yelled that day were) were NOT the Israelite JEWS"
That's an evasion of the point. As Jews, they believed in the same Abrahamic God Jesus claimed to be. Yet even standing before people who believed in God, he couldn't give them any kind of demonstration that he was, as he claimed, God. When you can't convince people who believe in God, that you are God, you're not very impressive. So either he wasn't God, or he tricked them.
If Jesus lives then the entire basis of Christian doctrine is false. The wages of sin are death, remember? If Jesus lives, then he's not dead and therefore, has not paid the wages of sin. That would mean that you're not saved.
So it would appear that I understand the Bible story and you do not. More importantly, I understand that it is a story, and not a historical account. I understand that punishing the innocent instead of the guilty is INjustice, not justice or mercy.
No matter how one examines Christian doctrine, if they do so honestly, it simply tears itself apart. God can't be just AND merciful. The two are mutually exclusive. You can be one or you can be the other. But one cannot be both. Killing the innocent is in no way, any form of justice. That's INjustice. The truly interesting thing is that you don't know the true Bible story. No one alive today does or could because none of the original NT documents have been found - NONE!
But they deliberately forget that long ago by God's word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water. But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin. He who overcomes will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out his name from the book of life, but will acknowledge his name before my Father and his angels.
Moses was faithful as a servant in all God's house, testifying to what would be said in the future. Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to make themselves beautiful. They were submissive to their own husbands,
May the Lord direct your hearts into God's love and Christ's perseverance.(If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God's church?) having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them. he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,
Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. For this reason, when I could stand it no longer, I sent Timothy to find out about your faith. I was afraid that in some way the tempter might have tempted you and our efforts might have been useless.
Does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you because you observe the law, or because you believe what you heard? which was not made known to men in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God's holy apostles and prophets. circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; in regard to the law, a Pharisee;
What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task. Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God.

Just to be clear YouTube, rational responders are messing with your heads!
ew00152 2 years ago
ew00152,
Just who is messing with who's head? You're going on about Jesus performing miracles. How do you know he did any such thing? Clearly, the Jewish council didn't find anything he did to be convincingly "miraculous". They believed in God and found that Jesus wasn't him. And most of what you're relying upon are pseudopigraphic writings - not the writings of his disciples or the apostles. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John weren't written by Matthew, Mark, Luke or John.
Beastt17 2 years ago
ew00152,
Just to be clear, the clergy is messing with YOUR head.

Jesus Christ, then, is the true God of men."
shieldsff 2 years ago
shieldsff,
Blaise Pascal can wax poetic all he wants regarding his personal subjective religious beliefs. Again; the only thing that matters in the objective world in seeking the nature of reality is what one can demonstrate via evidence. When it comes down to reality, Pascal had no more evidence than any other theist or any atheist. That's what theists don't seem to realize, you have no more evidence than do non-believers. You simply discount the significance of that absence.

shieldsff,
Perhaps that's what you don't understand about science and why it works so well to expose truths - it doesn't matter what anyone asserts or wants to believe. The only thing that matters in science is what you can demonstrate through evidence. So when he demonstrates a correlation between the writings of Moses and his scientific findings, then the statement has merit. Until then, it's subjective rubbish and worth absolutely zero on any objective basis.

Heb 11: 1-3
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
2 For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.
3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

God gave it to us and the more removed, that is depraved and alienate one becomes from his own soul, the more difficult it is to acknowledge Him.
shieldsff 2 years ago
shieldsff,
No, God didn't say that.

Paul really needs to pipe down, get a medical check-up, and have his "thorn in the flesh" properly treated.

sheildsff,
Faith - as it is practiced by Christians in nearly every debate, is simply the dismissal of any and all evidence which refutes their position.
Beastt17 2 years ago
shieldsff,
(cont.)

•Rustum Roy, one of the world's foremost materials scientists, holds three chairs at the Pennsylvania State University.
shieldsff 2 years ago
shieldsff,
I would hope you're not even considering attempting to suggest that when scientists who hold to theistic beliefs are practicing science that they in any way incorporate faith as a part of the discipline. Science does not and cannot allow faith. Any inclusion of faith renders the process as other than science and is responsible for some of the greatest blunders to arise from scientists, Einstein included.
Beastt17 2 years ago
relative to Newton and other prominent theist scientist, it is gross misrepresentation to assert that they viewed the Bible as scientific textbook per se, or anything of the sort Rather, faith, reason & the God of the Bible account are essential constituent elements of the worldview of believers. That this eludes UR mind is not at all surprising- this is why the Lord said a man MUST BE born again to see the Kingdom of God.
shieldsff 2 years ago
shieldsff,
And yet nowhere have I made the assertion that any true scientist anywhere held to the Bible as a scientific textbook.
Beastt17 2 years ago
shieldsff,
Since you seem so fond of calling in the quotations of theistic scientists as though it somehow voided the importance of objectivity in descerning truth, let's look to Einstein as well.

Beastt17 2 years ago
blackaboe, - RE: "check those materials that I mentioned."
Beastt17 2 years ago
ASSUMPTION: The novel "Peter Pan" can be trusted to tell the truth in all areas it touches on. Therefore, When properly understood, the 'evidence' confirms the Peter Pan account.
Now where do you go from there? Once you insist that all evidence MUST agree with "Peter Pan", can you conclude that the novel is fiction or incorrect?
Such an assumption and assertion is bankrupt on both intellectual and ethical grounds. Yet, it's the only way to defend the Bible because it is otherwise indefensible.
Beastt17 2 years ago
blackaboe, - RE: "I stand behind this claim.
Obviously, you can't support the claim

I'm using reason. Jesus never wrote a single word of the Bible and yet you keep saying "Jesus said". You have no clue what he said or if he ever said anything. You're taking the word of people, many of whom are anonymous, and none of whom you ever met or could assess their character.
If Jesus existed reason dictates that extra-biblical historians would have mentioned him. They didn't. So it's unlikely he existed. He's a myth.

Objectivity kills religion.

I'm quite familiar with both of these sites, the agendas and their arguments. You don't go through 4-years of arguing the atheist standpoint in the world's largest online Christian Forum without becoming intimately familiar with both of these.
And both reveal their agendas. AiG states that they consider any evidence contrary to scripture to be false. How can evidence be false? Evidence is real. Scripture is false when it contradicts evidence.
Beastt17 2 years ago
blackaboe,, - RE: "He's the Father of Lies."
Beastt17 2 years ago
beast/ I can demonstrate the falsehoods of the Bible and of those who promote the Bible as truth, We already did this, remember? Josh Mcdowell was a lawyer who set out to document the Bible to be false. And after he did the research he found it to be true and became a christian. His books can answer most of your arguments, especially on how historical facts are established. You definitely need to learn how to make these determinations. Don't listen to the enemies of God and of The BIBLE.
blackaboe 2 years ago
blackaboe,
Josh Mcdowell was one guy.

Beastt17 2 years ago
Beast /"writings of ancient goat-herders?"This is typical, I hear this consistently from the people of your generation, coming out of the institutions of higher learning. You though your money down a rat hole. Your brain-washed and poisoned against God and The Bible. Only by the Power of The Spirit of God will you be able find deliverance from this powerful delusion. The Bible says it comes from Satan through rebellion against God. You are captive. Jesus can deliver you, IFyou will let Him.
blackaboe 2 years ago
blackaboe, Then tell me, who wrote the Bible? Who picked up scribe, dipped it in ink and applied characters to parchment? It wasn't God. You seem to realize that Allah didn't write the Qur'an. I assume you realize that "The Creator" didn't write "Oahspe". For each book claiming divine origin, you recognize the true author, except one. With the Bible you deviate. Yet the Bible offers nothing more to support its claim than do any of the dozens of other books claiming divine inspiration.
Beastt17 2 years ago
blackaboe,
Sorry to burst your bubble with harsh realities but the so-called "power of God" has never helped anyone with anything.
Beastt17 2 years ago
blackaboe, - RE: "It's inconsistent, contradictive, horrific and demonstrably refuted rubbish."
Beastt17 2 years ago
blackboe, - RE: "...and HE did.
Beastt17 2 years ago
Of course we have to remember that all through the gospels, Jesus demonstrated over and over again that He was God, by raising the dead and healing the sick, giving sight to the blind. The BIBLE says the religious leaders delivered him to death for envy. They even wanted to put Lazarus back to death who Jesus raised from the dead because it caused so many of the Jews to believe on Him. Of course Beast doesn't believe the Bible but still tries to Use it to prove a point. Seems strange to Me.
blackaboe 2 years ago
blackaboe, - RE: "Of course we have to remember that all through the gospels, Jesus demonstrated..."
Beastt17 2 years ago
blackaboe, - RE: "Beast doesn't believe the Bible but still tries to Use it to prove a point.

Beastt17 2 years ago

MannaBoBannaPeople 2 years ago
MannaBoBannaPeople,
The statement is perfectly true.
Beastt17 2 years ago
These men were from their father the devil, and a few true Believers were caught up in his execution, but as you said, his trial was a mock trial, no true intention or Authority to exist, he was put to death without a cause.
John 15.25 But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.
Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men:
MannaBoBannaPeople 2 years ago
MannaBoBannaPeople,
Beastt17 2 years ago
MannaBoBannaPeople.

There is no cause to believe anyone has studied the words of Jesus and insufficient evidence exists to even conclude that such a person ever lived.

The full corruption of the world is quite evident is the views and lives of willfullly rebellion creatures such as URself.
shieldsff 2 years ago
shieldsff,
And yet the Bible - the proclaimed, "Word of God", claims that God is perfect. One cannot be perfect and create that which is not. The perfect craftsman does not produce an imperfect craft. So either God is terribly and demonstrably imperfect, or he is not the creator of the universe.

That's an evasion of the point. As Jews, they believed in the same Abrahamic God Jesus claimed to be. Yet even standing before people who believed in God, he couldn't give them any kind of demonstration that he was, as he claimed, God. No matter how one examines Christian doctrine, if they do so honestly, it simply tears itself apart. God can't be just AND merciful. The two are mutually exclusive. The truly interesting thing is that you don't know the true Bible story. No one alive today does or could because none of the original NT documents have been found - NONE!
