They had amazing chemistry, a bit like Sonny and Cher of an earlier era. It makes me sad to see these great clips with the knowledge that they ultimately divorced.
Too bad that they ended up enemies, fought legally, etc....the age difference didnt help....but man o man, when they were in their heyday, nobody was better...they were my parents generation, but I've always loved music of the late 40s,50s, early60s...Darin, Dion, Buddy Holly, Ricky Nelson, Keely and Louie,Louis Armstrong, Kingston Trio, and the Seekers, to name a few....our kids music of today is so vapid, vacant, and void of anything positive, of moral or positive social value..
i disagree, I'm a kid and I feel that not all of today's music is as vacant or vapid as you say it is. To pigeonhole today's music as a whole is unfair. There is the good and there is the bad,
I'm sure Louis Prima and even Bobby Darin had some musical downfalls, I think every true musician does at some point. Experience can only make one better, no?
I was perhaps a bit harsh, yes. But I stand by my opinion of what is passing for legitimate musical talent in today's is low IQ, bathroom/sex/crime oriented crap, largely. My son is 19, and even he gravitates toward my music, like Allman Bros, Stones, Dave Matthews, Savoy Brown, Beatles, and even Kingston Trio:-).....we both like robert Randall,a popular jazz guy today.
Plenty of kids your son's age and mine listen to the type of music you're referring to but what's music if there is no variety? I'm growing up in a generation where I can access all sorts of music from every time period of popular music and it's all at my fingertips.
Don't let some of the entertainers today sway you from finding true and honest talent today, it's out there and plentiful. It's just a bit harder to find now.

If they ever invent time travel, I'm going back to Vegas circa 1956 for a wild weekend watching these two do their thing - simply amazing...

I find their act fascinating. I wish someone would come up with a script. Get some good actors and do a motion picture about them.
I'm sure there is a good story to be told.

They were the greatest lounge act ever, and back in the good days, before all the garbage came rolling in in the 60's
