  • hello . I am a welder fabriactor , do you think it would easy for a fabricator to get in to the mines. is there still good money to be made there?

  • Howst Choppy. where do you recommend a town or city to stay and take these courses?. Would there be any financial support as i study to get these requirement to get a mining job? ( Like being on the benefit?)

  • sory need more advise

  • Fuckin hell all these wogs coming from denmark n shit, what about me im a fukin aussie i should have priority

  • @luvinlife33 Know what you mean... the average born, bred, schooled aussie getting lower pirority as opposed to fucking foreigners.... but there are many lower paid shit jobs which they can have as far as Iam concerned (taxi driver, security guard etc.)

  • @luvinlife33 lol wogs from denmark? man you dont know your geography eh.

wogs: those from yugoslavia, and italy(wops mostly called, deigo as well) bosnia.

you can add lebs too as they all act the same as them hoodie fwit fag cunts that they are.

  • Great video chops. I basically knew most of that but it reinforces my resolve to keep trying. I am going into my second year now and am feeling down about it.

    kenno2s

  • excatly what i was looking for..planing on moving to aus with my aussie gf after christmas...been driving trucks for 8/9 years...is a HR licence basically a truck licence??

  • yeah, it covers trucks greater than 8Tonnes GVM, plus a trailer no greater than 9 Tonnes GVM

  • Thanks heaps, I might hit you up with some questions in a bit. Cheers

  • great video mate, lots of handy info for anyone, like me, who is keen to take the plunge. gotta say the media exposure to living working and earning in a mine kinda misrepresents some of the realities. like you said persistence will pay off. cheers again, from another happy subscriber

  • Apply for high paying oil industry jobs at Oilcareer com

  • wat is a police clearance

  • basically, it's a criminal history check. You give permission for the company who is hiring you to look at your criminal record.

  • Hey mate, cheres for the vid. Going to WA to work in the mines. Are moving from Denmark, so big change / chance for me and the misses. Hope to succeed - can always ask you :)

  • where do you go to find direct employment, to apply directly?

  • Sometimes you can get straight in with a mining contractor, as a new starter, but positions like these are few and far between. Companies who do it, that I know of, is HWE Mining, Macmahon Contractors, NRW (Maybe). Don't really know anyone else. Hope that helps.

  • Great bit of info---thumbs up!

What sort of job do you do?

  • Thanks!

As for what I do, I drive one of those big dump trucks, Caterpillar 785C. Google it if you wanna see a better picture.

  • I wouldn't necessarily agree with all this, particularly in regards to acquiring all the tickets prior to canvassing jobs. Alot of people (and I am talking about those seeking the unskilled/dump truck jobs working in good mines) have gotten in with nothing (except for the odd HR licence - if that). Majority of employers prefer to start them from ground up, easier to train and mould. Also nepotism (like most fucken jobs, Qld partic.) plays a MAJOR role in getting work more than anything else!!!

  • Please realise that everything I have said is based on what I went through while trying to get into the industry

While I use to work in Queensland, I now work in WA, which is what I am basing some of my information off of, and over here, though they do take on the odd greenie, a lot of jobs now days want people to have 1 to 2+ years of experience to drive dump trucks.

It's hard to get in as an entry level truckie... unless your related to someone high up. Like you said, Nepotism.

  • i hear there are loads of Dump Truck jobs. is that true?

  • @Maorisidol You'll have to ask the guy who posted this video dude.

I briefly looked into the jobs myself, but gave up on them... not what you know, but rather who you know out there in the industry

  • should i bother? hey there are 100's of jobs there, why aren't they taking us ppl? unskililled or skilled

  • @Maorisidol Up to you. I dont know why they arent taking people, but its not like a big fat recruiting drive or anything, just seems to be more on an adhoc basis for employment. I personally wouldnt go into the industry itself.

  • Fantastic info mate.

You forgot to say "chics really dig miners!!"

Well, at least they love their pay packets ;p

Ohh, and you hosted stickycam tonight like a true professional. Take Care, off to watch another of yours

  • Chops, real interesting, especially coming from someone who actually has a job and is working in the industry. I sent you a message, if you get time to reply...that would be good! Thanks.

  • hi ya chops. i dont want to go mining but hi anyway. good to see you... Bernie. xxx

  • THANKS CHOPPS!!!! take it as a practice run :D.. and persistance.. thats so true

  • 5* GOod job!

  • Thanks for the info if I feel like a change.

  • Well, now's the time to do it. From what I've heard, miners in Qld are undergoing an overhaul to their EBA's, and the amount of money their gonna earn is set to increase a bit... A fair bit...

  • Great video and informative.!!

  • Thanks Paulie, it's good to get that kinda feedback. I sit here and think "Damn, what did I miss? Will people get the full gist of it?", but it's good to hear when ppl say it. Thanks!
