To me driving these rigs red light and siren is one of the perks. I it is fun as hell. Don't get me wrong I am a firm believer in safe apparatus operations but half the fun is getting there. It is often dangerous you can expect the public to do some of the dumbest things when they see you coming. It is the drivers job to get the apparatus to the scene in a safe timely manner. That is the challenge.
