This is SO fake, not authentic, not real, not representative of anything real. I've been to Sephardic, Yemenite, Persian, Moroccan, Hassidic (different types), Black Hat/Yeshivish, Modern Orthodox, VERY Modern liberal Orhodox, Traditional (Conservadox), Conservative, and Reform Jewish services, and this smushes them all together in a very unnatural way. why do they nod when they pray? i mean no offense by asking. i really want to learn. i am a religious studies major, but i never learned this. and i always felt awkward about asking. is there some theological reason behind this? i know the festivals, forms of judaism, early sects, the first and second temples at jerusalem, babylonian exile, shabbat service, kiddush, shema prayer of unity of god.. etc.. all this more complex stuff i know. but the simplest things allude me.
