Just watched the DVD today (some 10 months after the movie was first released). Kudos to Guy Ritchie and his DOP for making this movie rich with texture, sinister sepia tones and period nuance -- pretty bummed however that there is not a single trace of Rachel McAdams wearing a red corset and Victorian-era black stockings in the entire movie; as the trailer twice threatens to show us……guess it’s all on the cutting room floor…;o(

just saw the movie because of what Rachel McAdams was wearing at 1:22 and 1:34 but i noticed that Rachel McAdams didn't appear like that in the final production. She just wore a ligh purple dress with minor cleavage.

When I first saw this trailer, I was watching Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I remembered the scene where RDJ was naked and cuffed to the bed when the Potter crew was in the Weasly house. Mr. Weasly had a pillow in front of him and I leaned over and told my friend "The key lies behind the pillow." She wouldn't stop cracking up.

Sherlock Holmes : Long overdue 21st Century Update of one of the most famous cinema characters is a fantastic, funny action thriller with just the right mix of talent. Downey is fantastic as the Super Sleuth, but Jude Law as Watson is totally equal. Add Rachel Mc Adams and other supporting cast to the mix and you have yourself a perfect popcorn blockbuster 8.4/10

I really liked this movie. Guy did an awesome job directing. The crazy wild partnership that holmes and watson have kind of reminds me of the tv series "Psych". If you've ever watched Psych, Sean always gets Gus into wild escapeds due to his wild theories of what happened in a case. Of course like watson, gus tries to be the head of reason. But always end up going along with seans crazy plans -to solve a case.

I alwas thought of Sherlock and Watson as some as very conservative englishmen who solved cases. I loved that this Sherlock holmes and Watson solved cases, and were wild bad asses. I especially loved Sherlock's fight scenes. I loved how they showed what he was going to do in slow motion and then he follows through and does it the exact way he thought it out.

This movie is possibly one of the best movies i have ever seen. Holmes is sooo funny, Watson is amazing, irene is actually pretty hot and blackwood is well um... the best bad guy i have ever saw in a sherlock holmes movie/programme. she's not a detective, she is the only woman who had defeated Holmes in his detective career... apparently she was under the employment of Professor Moriarty, whom I believe will be the antagonist in the sequel (which I hope there will because I really enjoyed the film)

@Nadelanu I don't think she was a private/consulant detective or any form of detective at all. In the movie she was a criminal working outside of the law. In the books she was just a freakin opera singer who outsmarted Holmes. Of course, I might be wrong.

@purplemaix I think you mean Irene Adler but she doesn't work for Blackwood. In the original story "A Scandal in Bohemia" you can find that Adler is kind of a love interest of Holmes but mostly because she's one of the few people who actually stumped him. I love the books and this movie is an awesome adaptation. Some of the quotes in this movie come from the stories themselves which is cool

It clearly states in the story that Holmes had no feelings of love or romance for her. Because she was not only beautiful, but so smart and cunning that she outwitted Holmes in his quest to recover a compromising photograph of her and the king, he viewed her to be the only woman worthy of his admiration.
