The newer Impala SS models are front wheel drive. I know because this is one of the vehicles I own.

Whether it is a strait line or a track, it will still blow away the 9+ second, E30, poor man's BMW.

In addition to that, it is just a car. It is not famous, it is not respected. It is popular amongst posers and kids who want to upgrade from a scirocco.

In Canada BMW's are not popular. We have perma frost & snow. A beemer wouldn't last long!

I am ordering a new Holden Caprice for my place in Townsville (I will leave the other one in Woy Woy).

In a flash flood in Mackay last summer, my Holden was buried in water but still ran. (I have a vid on my channel).

GM is reliable. I am talking from experience. Car reviews rely on advertising for revenue and can't be trusted.

curves, power!? the E30 is almost a perfect cube! it takes 09 secs for this car to reach 102KM! Modifications are extremely limited; besides wheels and pipes to make it louder, there is little that can be done to make this car worthy.

if your a teenager with a limited budget or can't afford a real performance car, then this is the car for you. I mean it is better than driving a VW or Jetta, right!?

and hey, I bet it gets really good mileage as well with that german mower engine inside?

That's a bit harsh mate, people here in Australia step over one another to import or purchase an E30 M3. The going rate is about $45K+ for one... hardly a teenagers budget?! There are no Impala's here and thank god, American cars are PUSS! Perhaps that is why U.S. car companies are going bankrupt and the Govt has to rescue them because the people certainly wont! Oh and btw, the E30 is a touring car genius, your impala may get a 9 second hard on but wont last half an hour in a 24 hour rally!

The people bailed out the car companies! That is tax payer money the gov is giving away!

Mercedes receivied an 11B Euro bail out and so did other companies, they just did not receivie the same attention!

It would depend where we were to have our rally? There are no E30s where I live because the car is useless in a Canadian winter.

Whilst you may not like the e30, as a motoring enthusiast you should appreciate what they are and that they revolutionised motorsport... You should know that even Brocky ran the E30 M3 at Bathurst (despite being a Holden man). Their success on the track makes them somewhat legendary here and their straight lines make them relatively timeless in terms of asthetics. The E30 has a cult status and very few cars have that. Appreciation mate, it doesn't make you a sell out.

When I was 17 I was the lot boy at a prestige car dealership on the west coast. We sold lots of E30's. I loved driving them. I preferred the Vettes and the Porches of course....

Townsville! My sis & bro in law live there. I went snorkeling @ Magnetic Island, visited some museums and partied downtown.

On my way, I got caught in a flash flood in Mackay and the Holden I rented, brand new, almost floated away!

Took a week to suck the water out and dry it. I didn't buy insurance so I had to make sure it worked; otherwise I would of had to buy it! It started in the water and I drove it out.

I wish I could go there every winter. You have no idea how much -30C sucks!

Small world! I went to Uni in townsville so I was there for just under 5 years.

Maggy Island! I lost a mobile phone, and several other personal items running into the beach, off my face, fully clothed there on the full moon party they have on the beach... Good times!

I did the drives quite often and the floods get pretty intense! I came to sailing too a couple of times ;)

I don't think I could handle -30 degrees... I can't even handle anything under 10!! ;p

I lived in north west Canada all my life and you don't get used to cold weather; at least I don't!

Work won't let me go for more than a couple of weeks at a time so I will have to fake an injury if I want to go in February.

No need for it in the summer cause I have a nice bike and I used the car only in the winter. Just rebuilt top end of it. Completely new cylinder head, camshaft, rocker arms, 4 exhaust valves, valve stems + all gaskets.

When I get more money and sell the bike, I'll build a turbo E30 with M10 engine and s14 stroker crankshaft. :)
