  • Hmm what about the Taoist idea of doing not doing? The dancer becomes the dance. While Stef you are right on so many levels in what you say in this video I don't know how much of it really applies to MJ. Michael Jackson did have some real demons to deal with inside but a lot of what was in his music did not speak of a man that was not totally owned by his own ghosts. He did have some insights into the world most did not.

  • I think this is a very interesting insight into fame, excess and Michael's never ending pursuit for external validation. Stef, I'm loving your work. I too made a personal tribute to MJ in a form a Billie Jean remix. very dark and dirty. check it out.

  • Indeed, indeed.

  • Amazing Stef, that was simply beautiful.

  • down right good message man!

  • Beautiful ~ ~ ~

  • Very well spoken again. Yeah Michael's story is a good lesson to everyone. His childhood was sad and incomplete and it's true that one can never replace something like that. He had a bad father however everyone should not forget that had his fater been much better we never would have known Michael...he was who he was mainly because of this father. I had a very bad childhood between 6 and 16 and it took me many years to learn how to live happy with myself and stop living in regret.

  • This video should get featured.

  • i was hoping you would have something to say about michael jackson, and i think this is a very honest and empathetic eulogy for him, and an unfortuneatly heart breaking lesson for everyone else

    thanks for this

  • You're commentary is just fascinating to me. You really offer a unique, honest, and informed perspective on so many topics. You're really a power thinker. I really appreciate your videos. Thanks for posting. RJ

  • MJ gave millions to charities & people in need. Even though he's listed in the Guinness book of records for his giving, much of it was done anonymously. He founded the Heal the World Foundation & used it to airlift 46 tons of supplies to war-torn Sarajevo, institute education programmes & donate millions to less fortunate children. Really he cared and empathized deeply for others. Being of a spiritual soul impulse that informs great artists, Michael had reasons reason can't know.

  • This video got me just staring at my screen. Im out of words Stef, that was incredible.. You not only explain Michael Jacksons life and death you really keeps on reaching me while Im lost and dream about my future self... - My funnier, richer and more popular self.

Someday I wanna give you a hug.

  • He nailed it

  • I've never been a fan of his work, I also didn't realize until this very moment how similar I am to him.

Even at home, on the internet, I'm lonely. Sometimes I hop on my bike and ride. I try to impress other sport bike riders, hoping that someone will talk to me. Maybe they'll invite me to ride with their group. Its so hard to make friends. Then I run out of gas, and come home.

  • Very nice

  • did you mean "a eulogy" ?

  • Wiki: An elegy is a mournful, melancholic or plaintive poem, especially a funeral song or a lament for the dead.

  • ahh thank you!!

  • Dude, the video was NOT about Michael Jackson -- he was not the subject of the video, he was the object. The subject was violent abuse and the striving for love in inadequate ways that abuse produces in people.

  • I guess we can't stop yet.

  • i so agree with u :]

  • I believe that he was very generous towards charities, but that was not enough to make him happy...

  • Stef... I love you man! :-)

    An excellent one... again!

Although, I would not necessarily link his need for love and profitability with the fact that he surrounded himself with enablers. It was his decision and he loved to have all those suckers around him. Many other people that became famous (because of lack of love) knew how to grow their fortune. I tried to explain this on my blog.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for creating this elegy for Michael Jackson!

  • Excellent Piece. Bravo Stef

  • Thank you for this.

  • Stef,

Do you have a transcript? I would like to contribute subtitles to this video because I want to show it to my father and he doesn't speak English.

  • that was just really good stef

  • It is interesting how society holds up sad, tragic people as objects of veneration.

  • That was beautiful expression.

  • Excellent video. This is one of the very, very few pieces since MJ died that is worth watching.

  • Brilliant, sad, helpful words and gently spoken :)

    Thankyou for making this.

  • How many dead stars could you say this about?

    Stef, you nailed it.

I can't find one wrong thought in your analysis of this poor man's life and death.

I was never a fan of his, but I always felt pity for the pathetic wreck that was his life.

Anyone that messed up is carrying some serious childhood baggage.

    Again, well done Stef.

  • So much more informative and interesting than all the other sensationalized crap on TV

  • poetry Stef

  • Stef, you are the only person to say anything worthwhile in response to Michael Jackson's death.

  • Thank you so much.

  • Wonderful

  • i think its nice :)

  • I'm so glad you made this...

  • what he said

  • Bob Dylan once said that a lot of artists need to perform to feel a kind of love. The love of an audience.

  • I was skeptic about the Michael Jackson start but it turned into a great video with important lessons to learn!

  • he had skilz like num chuck skills and computer hacking skillz

  • This goes hand in hand with your video "Death by Perfectionism"
