I notice something else you may find helpful. Usually when V is preceded by O, V becomes harder to make because the O sound is made by rounding the lips, which we don't do in all O sounds in American English. Because of this, the lips have a hard time going from round (O) to flat (V). A tip I gave was to elongate the O sound and stop after the V sound slightly at first to enunciate the sound. Thanks again. Jennifer Kumar
In my opinion, the Spanish pronunciation rules have influenced the American pronunciation anyway, esp. in Southern US English where there is a big Spanish community...
I watch your videos quite a bit and I'm trying my best to get the accent. I think American accent is better to understand and hear than the British accent. Sadly, I cannot afford to take the lessons not only due to financial reason but also due to location.
i am a filipino, i pronounce v as b and p as f and vice versa.. i applied as a call center agent and i was denied.. the interviewer told me to work on these letters.. how can i go about it? need help...
Wow, thank you, Spanish has letters B and V, but both are pronounced as b, I mean Spanish doesn't have the V sound, so it was hard to get used to pronounce the sound
Rachel, this is great. Thank you, Turkish friend!

Dear Rachel,

Keep on doing the good deed. Thank you so much.

I know! I have noticed Spanish speakers especially have a problem with this sound. If it's not in your native language, it can be hard to notice.
