I still remember the last thing he and his wife told me before they left for a show. "Eat anything in the fridge you wan't, and Jim bought some beer just for you, in the back". I house /dog sat for them sometimes when they went to out of town shows.
very good tribute i was at the dayton airshow that day it was the scareyist day ever we saw him go down it was horrible awsome tribute what song is this 5 stars
What was he flying so low with fog on the ground. Great flier but what was he thinking.the agl id diffrent every where you fly.this have caused him to miss look the gound ifr gages.if it was to please the crowd, it cause him his life that day.rest in peace.
ground ifr gauges? Aerobatics are flown with the altimeter, airspeed indicator and thats it. You glance at your engine gauges, CHT, Oil Temp and the like. Everything that is being flown is being flown "outside" of the cockpit. Your post is unintelligent and disrespectful. Its quite obvious you have little clue what you are talking about and furthermore know very little if anything about aerobatics.
I love watching Jim Leroy Fly, usually me my brother and father all went to the Dayton Air Show and that year we didn't and I'm glad I didn't but I went this year and I truely missed him. FLY on BULLDOG FLY ON!
This is a great video.I love airplanes, but I have only been to 2 airshows, both were in Dayton.I had never seen any of his shows, so I did not know anything about him.I was not watching the runway until he took off.I watched him the whole time .....until.My interest in aviation has only grown since then.My first rc plane is a biplane.R.I.P. Bulldog.
he was the best pilot known to man and also he was verry dedacited. He lived on the edge. R.I.P jim leroy, rest in peace you bulldog.Only a real man goes down with his plane
I saw him preform with his Lethuanian teammate Team X they were awesome he was awesome. Operation Mary's Lamb was cool but I can't belive it. R.I.P Jim Leroy and Bulldog.
One of the BEST ! Met him personaly at Airventure, someone you will never forget, Thanks for a great video and an AWSOME tribute video. Tastefully done. GOD SPEED JIM
Fantastic Tribute, to One of the Greatist Men to ever Take to the Skies. The Airshow Community is still reeling over his loss. Jim was a true Gentleman, and had perhaps the greatist personality of all the performers Ive met in 35years of going to airshows. Thank you so much for this Video, its very fitting, I'll always think of him when I hear that song.
Thank - you for posting this. Excellent tribute to one of the best air show pilots/showmen in the world!!! I was there, and was devastated by the tragedy. Joannie, Tommy, and all their family and friends have been in my thoughts and prayers.
Very touching video. I saw him 4 times already (2001, 2003 & 2006 in Quebec Air show and earlier this year at Bagotville Airshow) He will still be missed for many years to come.
:(I first saw his performance this year and thought it was amazing. Some of the most impressive new stuff Ive seen in aerobatic flight! This is sad! I was looking forward to seeing him fly again!):
Jim could do things in an airplane that just can't be done. His skill and engineering created a show which can't be captured on video.
The last time I saw him, it was after an airshow and we were headed for the gate. We had met earlier that spring and he recognized me and stopped to talk a minute but had to leave because he was helping reunite a lost kid with his parents. That was Jim.
Soar high, Jim, and reach out to touch the face of God.
I always cry when I watch this video
