@SugerCandyQueen The hull (frame) of the ship was built with water-tight compartments that were designed to close up and keep water contained in case of a collision. The ship was designed to stay afloat with water in up to 3 of the compartments, but...water got into 4 of the compartments and the ship sank. Had they hit it dead on, the water would have probably only gotten into 1 of the compartments and the only fatalities would be the passengers whose rooms were in the front of the ship.

Leonardo DiCaprio was robbed by the Academy Awards committee...they denied him because he was too young...the story was told through their acting and they should have been awarded for best actor. The Academy needs to drop their old ways and wake up. They gave Anthony Hopkins an Oscar for 16 minutes of great acting. Leonardo should have gotten one for Titanic and that's a fact.
