@gabthegreat01 the "best"is to ask zathran to follow you to the werewolf's place,when you reach the lady of the forest,then you side with the werewolves,attacking zathrian.he concede and acceptes to finish the ritual.the werewolves,then,become men and you can let them leave the place.The dalish elves agree to help ya in the final fight.In that way,there is not bloodshed neither for the Werewolves,nor for the Dalish.:)

@ShallowGaming Your cunning level effects it as well. Full coercion ought to do it. If you're having difficulty, try completing some other quests first. The Urn of Sacred Ashes, for instance.

Okay, not really. I was playing as a neutral-good "but I don't want ANYONE to die!" character, but ended up siding with the elves, although I did try to make Zathrian hear the Lady out. The way I saw it, they were ALL too stubborn to compromise. They only wanted to force me into making their tough decision, so I did. Still, I'm sorry, werewolves. I'm so sorry.

Playing abit evil is fun, but you have to use your brain abit , no point Rpwise or logical wise to pour the dragon's blood in adraste's ashes, siding with the wherewolves can come from compassion towards them and disliking the lies of zathrian , siding with the templars ( fear of possible blood mages hiding ) siding with bhelen well , that one is kinda obvious he has vision and hawwormont does not.

Witherfang is the hottest npc in the game I had to side with the werewolves so she wouldn't die, plus what's not to love about a Werewolf army backing you... it certainly beats a bunch of puny elves!

I believe there is an acceptable rationale for this version. Zathrian overreacted by causing the suffering of innocent posterity of the people who wronged him. He scapegoated them. He killed people for it, and deserves to die. Then we have the werewolves as they are, who have been this way for their whole lives. It's the only life they've ever known. They are that race now, they aren't human, should you really make the werewolf species go extinct? Plus, they're just plain cool.

I love this option! never did a play through with a different option (except for the acheivement, and then I just reload to before talking to the werewolves after I got it) after all, who needs to be the good guy with a army of pussy elves when you can be a bastard with a army of awesome werewolves

I agree! My current Warden isn't evil, but motivated by vengence; he's a Human Noble, so Howe killed his family. What Zathrian did here made him no different than Howe in my Warden's opinion, so he sided with the Werewolves to help them get vengence.

I'm currently at the final battle, and after seeing the Werewolves in action (tearing an Ogre apart in seconds, mobbing a Darkspawn General, ect), I don't think I will be siding with the Dalish again for a while muahahaha!

@cyril2310 'tis not random, you'll need high enough cunning or enough Coercion points to be able to persuade people. having lots of strength contributes to intimidation.

I do not suggest killing the elves.They were a life saver in the archdemon battle since archdemon makes quick work of any melee fighters.Plus there aren't that many werewolves that you get.The elves are more plentiful and can draw attention away from your party members when the darkspawn reenforcements come.

Yeah i hear ya, i have a hard time playing a bastard too. But taking a more 'Duncan' approach helps. Werewolves would be very useful in the battle with the Archdemon, The lady fo the forest has helped them a long way and may be able to make it more tolerable to live with their curse, she could also reform other (non-dalish cursed) werewolves too.

I'm also gonna try and have the golems join us too, its the dwarven peoples right to choose to make the sacrifice, like the grey wardens

Thanks for the vid. I am at the part where I just got full juggernaut armour and I wanted to side with the werewolves. I reccomend that you have mages, werewolves, dwarves, and knights to aid you inthe blight.

I can say without a doubt convincing Zathrian to free the werewolves from their curse is a much more satisfying ending to this chapter... Really touching actually. Oh, and I killed Wynne at the Mage Circle (Note to self: don't take Morrigan with you to places where they resent apostates) But I'm so far ahead on the game that I just don't want to re-do most of the crap. I guess I'l have to make do without a healer and lots of potions... lots and lots of potions.

I never knew you could do this, i just killed Zathrian as solo nightmare warrior (templar armor and spellward amulet helped) and remember the persuade option but didn't have enough in it. Major disadvantage of choosing this is you lose the Elven merchant, stock up very well on elfroot first and also buy any of his other specials you would need. You also lose the skillbook he sells (i think he sells it after you resolve this quest only).
