@XxaldairxX it's a natural soil(powder) that you need to mix it with gall. But it's not easy to find. Instead you can use acrylic, you just need to add a little water to it. However some acrylic paint does not expand on the water surface very well. You may need to add gall also. Paper should be thick, otherwise it may sink to the water. Another thing is, water is not a pure water. You need to add carregeenan to make it jelly. Hope it helps...
I don't think it would be appropriate to classify Ebru Art as Islamic, because it is not. Rather it revolves around Sufi and relaxation only because of its nature... Also would be ideal to add that you do not need to be of a certain ethnic or spiritual background to practice this art... It's more so something that should come from within...
@marcolante are you retarted? you watch a video about art and you make a comment about islam? even if you are right, this is not the right time to say it!!!
wat paints are u using?secondly can u plz tell the names of things ur using in this process.its amazing.plz any one who knws which paints r these.thnx
no da ottomans had discovered it but historians have not found how it came about how they discovered it but they are sure that it came about in ottoman time
@mewoone No my friend it's not forbidden to paint figures of humans, but of prophets, God, and paradise. The bible says the same, but only protestants stick to that rule.

if someone could answer these questions i would greatly appreciate it.
What kind of ink is needed for this? will regular paint work?
When putting the painting on paper can any regular paper work or is some form of special paper needed?

I want to learn Ebru so badly, even though I'm neither Turkish nor Islam. It's such a beautiful art.
Blu0Blur0Lover0 1 year ago
@Blu0Blur0Lover0 My sister taught Ebru to many non-turkish people here in Australia. Of course, you don't need to be Turkish or Muslim to learn this.

The end result of this demo could have been vastly improved if the videographer had given some fore thought about lighting.
