I say not bad for a guy 81 yrs young! His appearance did make me sad because it is difficult to see such a good guy have to suffer through disability. You want to think of a person at their best; you want to think of the picture of dad looking strong on the beach and not the one of dad in a wheelchair in the hospital. But it is reality, and kudos to the network for not being shy about it. I think he may have skipped a number thinking he was getting behind on the actual count then got confused

Did any of you watch him when he made his return to TV for the 2005/2006 Broadcast of Dick Clark's New Years Rockin Eve? Right before he counted us down to 2006, he said that he "wouldn't have missed this for the World." Sounds to me as though he's made the choice to go on every year since then, not as though ABC Executives are calling him every year and saying do the count down or else...

You call him retarded and make fun of his situation for not being able to count, yet most of you apparently cannot spell. Many of you seem to have limited vocabularies and end up sounding totally ignorant with all of the unnecessary cursing...are you sure your brain is working correctly? Did any of you watch him when he made his return to TV for the 2005/2006 Broadcast of Dick Clark's New Years Rockin Eve? Right before he counted us down to 2006, he said that he "wouldn't have missed this for the World." Sounds to me as though he's made the choice to go on every year since then, not as though ABC Executives are calling him every year and saying do the count down or else...

Why are people making an issue of Dick Clark failure to accurately do the countdown? Consider his age. Those who are making it an issue today, may some day have the shoe on the other foot.
Dick Clark is alive, he's well enough to share the bringing in of 2010 with the audience there and those watching it on the television.
I've enjoyed hearing him and watching him on shows he has done and would like to continue to hear him and the contribution he's making to help entertain us.
