i have the same gun except mine is the blued one. i noticed that you had a little trouble there at one point getting the hammer back. mine does it too. i say ditch the Blazers. i think the aluminum casing on those cant handle the heat and swell up. because the first couple rounds are ok but the third or so will start doing that.
@vedfolnir Yeah - with that ribbed grip it feels like you're holding a pillow. Just for fun I tried firing the .357 from the hip to see if I would get blast from the barrel vents. It wasn't too bad. You would probably get more from your .44mag.
I don't see ear protection. Are you nuts??!! Get some decent ear plugs or headset, trust me, you will thank me when you hit middle age and can still hear.
@Dojocho I live in Alaska and I carry a .44 Mag with a HEAVY grain when in the woods for bears. Its not the best protection from bears, but it is a great side arm if you need it and it will do the job. If you gotta hit em, hit em in the head. Otherwise, I also carry a 12 gauge. So between the two, I would hope I am safe. But you never know when it comes to wild animals. I try and stay out of there way, and it has worked so far.
Slappin' that there cylinder in place isn't cool and it doesn't do the gun any good either. If that was my gun I'd pry it away from your cold dead hands.
Never EVER swing the cylinder closed. You will screw up the allignment of the cylinder from the frame causing you issues in the future. You can do it like once in awhile but NEVER do it all the time. FUCK
Half the fun in owning a revolver is clicking it shut like they do in the movies. It would be like buying a corvette with no intention of seeing how fast it can move :-P
@meccastreisand could you explain to me how a light flick of the wrist breaks the crane quicker than FIRING the weapon?!? The crane is the only thing holding the cylinder and 35'000 PSI of pressure in place.
All I have heard of is anecdotal evidence, and there is plenty of evidence that cranes get bent just from regular firing of the gun.
It's tantamount to saying "Don't slam the magazine in that pistol! You'll damage the feed lips!"
Great gun, great clip, guy that last shot had really good form too. How good would you say that gun is for being used as a concealed carry weapon? Is it short and thin enough that it would be comfortable to carry all day and it not get annoying?
@vedfolnir I feel sorry for the asshole who tries to rob you, he's finish, nice ccw carry piece, I also carry my 357 magnum as a ccw, what a great choice, one thing I can say about revolvers is that they're always reliable, can't go wrong with them.
I own the same handgun &use an uncle mikes shoulder holster, it's great for concealed carry, the gun is lite &compact, but rugged enough for the cartridge, great handgun. Recoil is definately stout with full house mag loads, but it's managable. I like to use Winchester plat. tip HP's in 250 grains.
@jmack91z28 I carried a Taurus PT92 for a year. It is 8.5" long, a good 1.5" wide, and weighs about 2.5lbs loaded. I found it being left in the safe more and more, because my work dress made it impossible to conceal. So, I went to a Kel-Tec PF9 and now it is much better. It's on me 5 out of 7 days per week, rather than 1 day per week. So yeah, you could conceal this, but you really have to consciously dress AROUND the gun, rather than just include it like you would your wallet or phone.
@jmack91z28 Not to tell anyone how to shoot but, the last guy that shoots does not have good form. Its called shooting teacup. Difficult to manage recoil while shooting how you learned to play Duckhunt on a Nintendo. But its like a golf swing, if its comfortable and it works don't change it. Just figured I would offer my 2 cents.
Nice gun, I have one as well, I really like the compact frame of this, I can easily carry it with me wherever I go, and not be weighed down, and at the same time, have heavy fire power, if I need it.
If you keep snapping the cylinder shut like that you'll bend the cylinder crane & your gun will be worth crap.. & NO, you don't only do that when speed loading. Stop copying Hollywood movies, as they know dick about guns... The Tracker is a good gun, unless its sitting @ Taurus waiting to get fixed cuz You busted the crane..lol
If you read all the other comments you would have read that I only did it for show. All the guys there were begging me to give them the hollywood roll
sorry dude. I read the rest of the comments and you where alreardy worned about slamming the cylinder shut. If you knew, why did you do it hollywood ? That had to cost alot of money. Why risk damage to a fine weopen? just to look cool ?
it dosent look like there is much recoil on that....i want to get a tracker, but thought it would be sort of uncontrolable. i have a raging bull 44 mag with a scope...that really kicks!...course i shoot hot reloads but i figured with the short lite barrel of that tracker it would be a wrist breaker!..interesting....how's the accuracy?
It is really a very managable little gun. The serrated rubber grips really do wonders. What size load do you fire from your Raging Bull? I want to get my hands n some 300 gr rounds but I am not sure where to get them.
Anyways, give the Tracker a second look, as you know Taurus is famous for quality at a very decent price. Accuracy is amazing, by the way.
I know it looks cool, and they do it in the movies all the time, but wrist snapping the cylinder shut is not good for the revolver, it's kinda like letting the slide fly home on an empty champer in a semi auto. Over time the revolver will go out of time from continued wrist snap slamshuts. FYI
nice clip. I own a Taurus model 66 .357 w/6 inch barrel and starting to like the Tracker. I hate when the fanboys dump on the Taurus'. I hate fanboys period. btw. how's the recoil on that model?
in some areas its not considered a personal defense pistol. at least last i checked. but its power would be something that would have to be considered. whats beyond the target is almost(or more so) important than the target itself.
i'd personally like some super weapon, that either disables/kills the enemy. but since that is implausible, have to work closest to it. thought about getting the taurus judge, but after reading some reviews on here decided against it. basically guns are tools. the right gun for the right job. carelessness/misinformation is what the hippies use against us to deny us gun rights. some poor guy underestimating a .22, accidentally killing a young boy half mile away is prime example.
a 200 grain 44 spl load would def. do the trick, but I generally use full mag. loads in mine as well....when the hand gun I'm using may be called upon to defend my life...I can't get enough power.
Nice looking revolver, Taurus makes a good product. I didn't know The Tracker was offered in 44, thought it was just in 357. I have a Taurus Model 445 which is a 5 shot snub nose in 44 special. It's a nice little pocket cannon.
I like the grips on your Taurus, they look like they would be a lot less painful to fire full power 44 magnums.
I have 2 S&W Model 29's and they can cause some serious pain when you fire them with full power loads, especially the 4" barrel model.
Wow, I didn't know the Tracker came in so many calibers. I shot some American Eagle 240gr Hollow Points in my 4" Smith and I thought I dislocated my thumb it had such a kick. Definitely Painful!! I have 2 S&W 41 Magnums as well, a 6" Nickle Model 57 and a 4" Blue Model 58. They are also big boomers. I had some reloads that I made and they were awesome. I think I could have stopped a tank with them.LOL. A friend shot a few of these rounds and quit, too much pain for his hand. Hot but Safe.
Unfortunately NJ has numerous restricive gun laws. For instance I need to get a new pistol permit each time that I want to purchase a pistol. In theory the permit should take about 30 days for approval but the last one I received last year took around 4 months. We have an Assualt Weapons ban that has made illegal many semi-auto rifles and has made magazines that hold more than 15 rounds illegal. Folding Stocks and Flash Hiders are illegal as well.
Yeah it does. In NJ we get a Firearms I.D. Card which is used to buy rifles and shotguns, good for life unless you do soemthing to have it revoked. But as I said before, with handguns you need a permit for each handgun. You have 90 days to use the permit and then another 60 days,if you haven't used it by then it becomes invalid and you have to start all over again. What's really funny is the qualifications to legally own a rifle/shotgun are the same to own a handgun. NJ Really SUCKS!!!
it would be wise to stop slamming the cylinder closed it looks fancy but not good for a nice revolver like that and lean into the pistol it helpooiys with the recoil and it's a good habit to pick up.
lol sorry typing and punctuation isn't my thing guns and bullets is my passion I am in the market for a good 4in .44 mag as we speak how much did you pay for your handcannon?
Thats a good buy I'll probably settle for a 4in if I can't find a 2in 5 shot but the taurus608 8shot .357 doesn't sound bad either taurus makes great pistols for the money s&w M629 4in.$930+ a taurus 4in raging bull$400+ and the taurus looks a little better in my opinion
Recoil on my revolver was much less than what I expected though. I am the first guy in the video, the other guys were friends who were less experienced in shooting, but they did very well!
