A different take on the event, but I really like the random captures of the crowd, especially the man with the walking stick @ 1:30 ~ priceless, lol, and on such a beautiful day, as well. Well done! ... Now on to look up the words to Pomp & Circumstance~ :)
My, you're hard to please. But of course I'll fight to the last breath to allow you to speak your opinion. That may be the major difference between us.
I found lots of thing about GB that were amazing. Cambridge, Canterbury, Portabello Road, Leeds Castle. I was especially impressed by the Duxford Air Museum. I had a ball, and hope to be back someday soon.
That was so much fun to watch! I went to see the changing of the guard once, but I had a hard time seeing over the crowds since it was during peak tourist season.
Yes, I toured the Tower fifty years ago on my first trip to London. We only stopped outside the Tower gates this time to gawk at the tourists, er, us included.
We had an absolute blast. Saw many things, visited with my wife's family, went to a friend's 80th birthday party, went to Duxford air museum, drove to the coast. Two GREAT weeks. I'm ready to do it again!
It's all the great pomp and circumstance in the changing of the guard. We don't have this kind of traditional show over here (unless you count the Dallas Cowgirls routine at halftime). :-)
From what I seen of the images I could not see her personal stndard which means she wasnt home that day thats why she never poked her head out and waved.
Yes, he was a charming character...arrived carrying a tall walking stick and marched across right in front of me, so I followed him with the lens. Shot several pix of him.

should really watch this vid of the "official crown court papers"
from the court case that lead to me being the 1st ever british poet
to be given a "5 year rap & poetry ban" (Video on my page)

If you look closely at 3.15 you can just about see the Queen in the far left window, I think she has some kind of stick ?

What is the music in this slide show?
JellyFishBoy 3 years ago
It's "Pomp and Circumstance," by Sir Edward Elgar.
bestjonbon 3 years ago
In Britian it is called, "Land of Hope and Glory." It is however a movement of the Pomp and Circumstance march, fourth one I believe.
nubbie1944 3 years ago
Thanks for the input. It's beautiful music, by whatever name it goes. In fact, I like Elgar and all the Pomps and Circumstances.
