Ok you people don't understand... Tempo markings are more than just recommendations... If you don't follow tempo markings, pitch, mood, and lyrical meaning can be thrown out the window. This was a perfect example. The pitch wandered, parts were unpleasingly dragged out, it was much darker than it should have been, and the lyrics don't hold the same meaning.
It sounds better at this pace. I sang it at this pace(but an all women choir) and it gives the audience time to enjoy and HEAR the french. Not just whip through it. Good job guys! :]
This song was meant to be much faster, but I am GRATEFUL to have finally found a slower version. I just got the peace for District Chorus and I'm trying to get a feel for it without drowning! Thanks.

i dont know what you are talking about but none of the words are mispronounced here. it will sound a little different then modern french because it was written in the sixtenth century. and it should be sang faster but i have heard slower.

This song was meant to be MUCH faster, at least twice this speed.
Other than that, and the mispronunciation of some of the french words, not bad at all.
