  • $82000 Australian after about 10 years! OK for a single or a couple teaching. If you do a leading teacher role e.g( curriculum development) also available to new teachers then it can jump to $89000. Private schools are better if you really want less hassle free teaching. Government schools are are crap (generally). You have to research the socio-economics of the area ! (I know a few teachers!) ;-)

  • Great story but I couldn't hear very well the audio voice over.

  • i want to e a middle school science teacher

  • 31000 in the first year? that is just terrible, im so glad i want to be a teacher in australia, where our first year teachers with a masters earn almost 70 grand with yearly pay increments.

  • I can do this no matter what... I Will become a highschool teacher.

  • I'm lovin' this guys western New York accent.

  • Enjoy your TENURE (when you get it), unique CUSH job (compared to the real world), UNION BENEFITS, most of the summer off (unless you teach summer school), complaining that you are underpaid (in today's economy). Don't complain too hard--you'll have to consider a career change. Students today do NOT care (nothing new!). And personally, I HATED group activities or teamwork. I hated high school.

  • 1:07 the jack daniels Guns n roses shirt :)

  • @cactoosjack No you don't understand. Teachers can't go around to every student and ask them if they learned something. First off they could be lieing, second off every teacher I have had says that they hope the class learned something! The teachers job is to teach not know if what they taught was good. You're right we're not having a debait anymore. We're done. good bye.

  • @mrlovetodrive debait? lieing? oh my god, please tell me you're not a teacher!

  • @missbutter81 Really...you're gonna reply to a comment I made LAST YEAR!!! And no, I'm not a teacher, I'm a upcoming high school senior.

  • @MrNewdriver It's "an upcoming," not "a upcoming."

  • @missbutter81 Oh, sorry Ms. Perfect. I didn't realize we were discussing typos. You know what, you're an idiot. And you clearly have no life. Because you went back and "fished up" a comment that was made, last year! You're truly pathetic. Please don't message me again. Goodbye. (and I don't really care if there's any impropper grammar in this...just saving you some trouble.)

  • @MrNewdriver Hey don't take offense. Just trying to save you from making embarrassing spelling mistakes in the future.

  • @cactoosjack Well, as I can quote from all of my teachers, " I never know if they learned anything, but I sure hope they did. Although I learn a lot every year". Thank you :)

  • I want to obtain a Master's and become a high school english Teacher! I can't wait lol :)

  • @cactoosjack He's saying that he does not KNOW if the students learned anything, but he learned something from the experience.

  • Great video, down to earth, real deal. Teaching motivated people is heaven. Perhaps the FIRST STEP to towards heaven is: MOTIVATING :D

  • Being a teacher in Highschool,Middleschool is a pathetic and humiliating job.

Try ATLEAST to teach at University.

  • @WarrenAch It's not pathetic. Being a teacher is on of the BEST jobs in the world. I shouldn't get so worked up over what you have to say. I mean it's just YOUR opinion.

  • @WarrenAch High school teachers get paid decent. and they do not pay for there class rooms. And you DO NOT have to teach university to have a nice life teaching. Also, if you're a good teacher, you won't get dissed.

  • @WarrenAch Why, can you please explain the reasoning behind your statement?

  • Teachers who QUIT or do a HALF-ASSED JOB do so because they feel unsupported by the Principal, Parents, and Community.

They rarely quit because of low pay or long hours.

In NYC, most teachers I worked with were in their 2nd careers or fresh out of college. A sizeable number were bums who hated work and set a bad example for the kids.

  • Yeah, but it's Schaumburg High. You want to REALLY know if you're cut out to be a teacher? Teach at an urban school like I do. 99% of my kids live under the poverty level. Some of them read at a 5th grade level. Anyone can teach a student that wants to learn and is already well-skilled, like the kids at Schaumburg. You want to know if you're a good teacher? Teach a child that knows barely anything...and if he or she learns...THEN you're well-qualified.

  • @AnAppleADei But this is your side of the story. Teachers need to adapt to different situations and characters. There isn't only one model of teaching that all teachers should follow.

  • @AnAppleADei hi my name is corey im in 10th grade is it hard to get a job as a teacher and another question do you have to do any internships

  • I hope that you didn't mention to the losing team that they 'failed in that tone'; while I agree that it's important to clearly express the outcome of assignments, there's other ways that don't come off as so brash.

  • I thought it was going to be fun and then they almost made me cry.

  • they made me cry

  • My god! Congrat you decided to be high school teacher! Good luck!

  • I am currently deciding this career move as well., we share alot of the same feelings. Great video Right to the points. You will make a great teacher.

  • Great video! Thanks for sharing

  • good video but the audio is a little low. How's the program at Roosevelt? I'm interested in getting an education masters and I'm currently looking at all the programs in the Chicago area. Thanks.

  • very well done video!
